I bought this backpack about 1,5 years ago and absolutely love it. The expendability makes it a great backpack to onebag with. Unfortunately in your review you don't have any fidlock pouches for the outside attachment points and no packing cube. I've got some handy tips from my experience mentioned below if you're interested. From my experience I agree with most of the points made. The water bottle pocket is way too small and not stretchy (just like the spider net), the kangaroo pouch and harness system are great as well as the removable slingbag, the waist strap sits way too high indeed. Laptop compartment doesn't bother me too much, you won't notice a huge difference between it sitting further from your back. Finally I do have some recommendations for people wanting to buy this bag: - Buy the 10L smart packing cube from the Tropicfeel nest backpack to stow under the outside spider net. The 12L is impossible to fit under there especially when the bag is packed but the 10L does the job well and comes in handy to carry more items without the inside being used - Buy the toiletry/dobb kit instead of the tech pouch. The dobb kit has a lot more pouches and different spaces and you can also use it as a tech pouch - Use a carabiner on the loop of the top pocket for easy access to keys etc - The smaller camera cube from the Tropicfeel Shell is a lot better and fits my mirrorless Canon R, 24-105 lens, DJI mini drone, remote and batteries and you can put way more things above it inside the bags main compartment. - Turn the hipbelt slingbag upside down so the wait strap sits lower - Use packing cubes instead of the wardrobe. Although the wardrobe is quite handy at times, it's heavy and very space inefficient. I was able to pack roughly 75% more clothes into basic packing cubes than in the wardrobe and maintain the same weight (wardrobe is quite heavy) Hope this helps for people tempted to buy it. You can ask me anything about the bag as well. Enjoy the backpack 😁
@@preciouscode98 yea thanks a lot for this elaborate comment! I'd heard the first few tips, but particularly the flipping the hipbelt for it to sit lower is very clever, so thanks for sharing your experience and bringing this to our attention!💚
I've just seen way too many negative long-term reviews on Tropicfeel products. They seem like a brand that's really good at marketing and not that good at making bags. And their stuff isn't cheap. I'd rather spend my money on something I know will last.
the only thing that stops me from buying this bag is a laptop compartment in the front. I know i can use a separate laptop sleeve and put it closer to the back, but why should i
The detachable accessory approach is one way to do it. It’s not for me, personally, add-on pouches and stuff never feel quite as good. And it’s not like it keeps the cost down to get just the base bag it’s $289 just for that. Feel like other bag makers have solved the problems their add-ons address and for cheaper.

I think you had add some words about the optional add-ons. Do you have some alternatives?

I prefer the nest 😃
