Baritone power!!! I was so happy when Ms. Fleming sang this at the super bowl so the fans could hear what a classical voice sounds like. Now I'm ever happier to have it sung by a world class baritone here. It's always soprano this, tenor that bla bla....we need our time too!

Damn that was great, the National anthem should always be sung in this style imo

@Falcon I’m a huge opera fan, I just think it fits really well because of the historical nature of the song, but it was originally a bar tune so maybe the best version is a bunch of drunk guys in a bar?

The original music was written for a baritone singer, so the singer being baritone makes sense.

This was so amazing, loved the power and control in the low notes and transition to the high notes, especially towards the end when you threw out the high B or high C? you’re better off singing in a super bowl with this performance

Lucas is not commenting on your high B or C as he feels flattered..... in fact it is an A flat that he's hitting. Powerful and clean.

I was thinking "who's the genious that thinks its a good idea to put mike that close to full-power opera singer"
Glad the singer is a baritone. If it is full fledge contra tenor, the glass will break.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof thru the night that our flag was still there
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out of of their foul footsteps' pollution
No refuge could save the hireling and slave'
From the terror of flight and the gloom of the grave
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

You should have sung the original lyrics.
    To Anacreon in Heav'n
Where he sat in full glee
    A few sons of harmony
    Sent a petition:
    That he their inspirer
    And patron would be,
    And the answer arrived
    from the jolly old Grecian:
    "Voice, fiddle, and flute
    No longer be mute;
    I'll lend you my name,
    And inspire you to boot.
    And besides, I'll instruct you
    Like me, to entwine
    The myrtle of Venus
    With Bacchus' vine!"

The audio doesn't capture the real resonance and vocal colors in his voice .For a pop singer , or maybe for some high tenors an audio like this one would not be an issue ?That's happens with also Bass , baritones and some dark tenors .For those , you need to listen to them live , its another dimension , more when youre in a closed auditorium or arena , it's another level of sensations.
