Hi Emma, super long list of what can go in now, don't forget all the asian greens like pak choi, mizuna, mibuna, chop suey greens, chinese cabbage, mooli radish, fennel, spinach, beet (chard and beet root) anything that is likely to bolt if planted earlier is great now. If you still have space cover the ground with green manure, if you get the right type of plant they will overwinter and add nutrients to the soil - there are many different types for lots of different uses very easy even with a no dig plot. Green manure would be a good subject for a winter vlog. Best wishes Jenny

Emma, next time for your carrots (or parsnips), you can save yourself some of the sieving if you just do enough to fill some kitchen roll tubes that you then put in the plantpot and then fill around with scraggly compost. Then sow in the kitchen roll tubes. It worked great for my parsnips anyway :)

My dad was helping me put in T-posts today to build a trellis for my climbing plants and he told me I could probably squeeze in another potato (have 4 so far). Maybe next year or the following year, I suppose, as I don’t have a potato to get sprouty. Maybe I’ll get a potato and try chitting on my window sill. I am going to try to sow more carrots and some greens in my grow bags, plus adding another round of Lima beans in the garden proper. My first frost usually falls mid-October though, so in about a month I’m going to start sowing my cover crops in time for them to mature before the frost kills them.

Now if im in the garden and she needs a rest from nest duties she flys right up to me and if im happy she goes off for some food. ive put out mealworms and water for her raised so no vermon can be attarcted. I’ll mulch beds and get it all weeded and tidied up without constantly feeling like I’m playing catch up. I’ve got plenty growing and a few things ready to plant out, so it won’t be an empty plot and I will whack in some broad beans and garlic later in the year. Oh and it’s firming compost, soil compacts compost doesn’t. Looking forward to Fridays vlog x

Yet another brilliant vlog Emma. I do have one question though. Where did you get your seed potatoes from? Did you save them from when you planted earlier in the year? I grow my potatoes in bags ( I don't have an allotment but grow lots of veg in pots and raised beds etc) and would like to grow some for Christmas/winter, but I haven't got, or can't find any seed potatoes now. By the way, a cheaper alternative to using multi-purpose compost is to use growbag compost. I use it all the time and in bigger pots/bags, I fill halfway with bags of topsoil and then the top half with growbag compost. Looking forward to your next vlog. Happy gardening!
