    Been watching your videos. Thank you for taking your time to make them for us! I do have a question. I have a 2014 Honda accord LX 100,800+ miles. I just replaced the battery two weeks ago, then the alternator the next day. Ever since I’ve had the car back, when i am stopped at a red light it idles rough and acts like it wants to lose power. Acceleration seems off and then the “check charge system” indicator will flash on my dash. I have had it tested at AutoZone and it came back with a bad reading. O’Rileys today said it was a bad voltage regulator. But I have taken it back to the same mechanic twice, and each time he says there’s nothing wrong. Could it be the alternator? I have changed the spark plugs. Coils are fine too.

      @RB The Mechanic ya the battery thats in the car now I had upgraded to the group 24 from the 51. I also bought the best battery I could. Battery reads 12.9 v with the car off and has been sitting over night so im kinda ruling out it being the battery. I'm getting my alternator warrantied at the parts store today. But last night when checking everything I noticed my serpentine belt is reallly really tight for some reason? It's weird to its not making any squeeling sounds or anything but the volts on the alternator at battery dropped to 13v last night right at midnight to no joke its like Way to start the new year off right huh? Haha anyways while i was inspecting it on thr side of the road last night i could barely move the belt in any direction and the joint that determines the tension seems like it extended as for towards the back of the car is it could, thinking it seized up maybe? It just rained really hard where I live and my fender liner is missing maybe that's what caused this? Also my car just hit 108k so I'm thinking the belt and the pulley needs to be replaced anyways. Gonna replace everything today and then go through my fuses as well. By any chance do u kno where the fuse is for the alternator? Been having trouble locating that

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  Год назад

      @@Lilnagger666 it’s somthing sensor related or voltages like I said fuses can be issue as well I had few with horn fuse blown

    • @Lilnagger666
      @Lilnagger666 Год назад +1

      @RB The Mechanic for sure ya I just went through my fuse panel under the hood everything checked out I was missing a fuse for the parking lights tho idk if that would cause anything I mean it's been like that since I bought the car so idk I still put the fuse in tho. Only other thing is the arm on the pulley right at that bolt that hold the arm and pulley together right at the joint is super loose I can move this arm all around so hopefully the new pulley belt and alternator fixes all this. But check it out I noticed u and some other guys talking about your voltages dropping while idling. Ive never had my voltages drop under 14.4 at idle even with their being no headlights or accessories on so im wondering if my computer in my car was just working extra hard until last night. Although my acceleration was crap headlights went super dim so idk. if that is true your voltages are supposed to drop at idle could explain my low voltage reading although doesn't explain loss of performance and headlights being super dim. Hopefully all the new parts fix everything but hey man thank u for your help dude I really really appreciate u. All your videos on these cars have helped me tremendously so I appreciate it man for real.

But when left to idle, the voltage dropped to 13.1 V. Is the computer "downpowering" the alternator when not under load, or is this an alternator problem? When I do something simple such as turning on the headlights, the voltage would jump up to 14.4 V, as soon as I turned them off, it drops back to 13.1 V.
