I find it incredible how so few subscribers this channel has. Ive said it before on another of this channels videos, but the guy in thjs review is without question what i would call a professional. I could very easily see this guy on a main tv channel. The upcoming wave of young car reviewers trying too hard to catch subscribers is cringe to watch sometimes, where as this guy is just crusing as in my opinion the best car reviewer on youtube and by some margin. His research on the vehciles he reviews is clearly thorough and giving us the information whilst driving is a winning formula. I dont know if thjs guy is still doing it but hes an absolute champion at what he does. 5th gear etc can forget it.

He said nobody should buy any other than the diesel version..the guy has no idea. The T6 is the version most want.

@@ardie72and if you were buying diesel, you'd buy the D5 all day long - sounds much better and is FAR more reliable than the earlier VEA 4-cyls like the one having it's praises sung herem

I'm pretty sure the 2.4 diesel was never a Ford unit. It was an evolution of the Volvo designed D5 introduced originally in 2001.

      Correct.
The EuroV in these was the third generation of it.
If it's in a Volvo after the early 00's and had 5-cylinders, it's a Volvo unit (very early noughties D5's were an Audi 5-pot).

I have to say, though, that the VEA 4-cylinder in this car is something I wouldn't have gone for - give me the 215ps D5, better noise, better drive and a lot more reliable than early VEA D4's.

I just want this car for it's comfortable couch seating. I don't care how it drives.

Can personally attest to this. Mine has the sport seats and they're the most comfortable bucket seats I've ever sat in.

How is the 1.6 litre diesel?

I don't think this video is too well researched in regards to the engine department.
For starters, all the 5-cylinder diesels were Volvo units, and had nothing whatsoever to do with Ford.
Early VEA 4-pot in this car is actually the one to AVOID at all costs as it's plagued with teething pains, doesn't achieve anywhere near the high mileages the D5's were famed for... The ONLY real advantage of the D4 here over the D5 is fuel economy and ULEZ compliance - but the D5's will easily last 200k miles and then some, but the early 4-cyl D4's wouldn't... Oh, and the D5 sounds awesome, whilst the VEA is rather boring.
Give me a D5 all day long.
