Never having seen the problem before I am wondering if the looseness of the belt contributed to the catastrophe.

buy your parts now they will disappear soon too. I bought a HOnda from a guy self propel would not work he swore it would need a new trans. I got it cheap. A small piece of wood was jamming the pulley and belt. Easy fix. Easy money.

that happened to me on my HRR 216VYAA Honda. A piece of wood got jammed into the pulley and hung up the belt. I thought the worst of course figuring it was a tranny, but I got lucky that time. Yeah, Honda is a great mower. I think Honda made a big mistake by stopping production of their mowers in the USA. I guess they will be introducing a line of battery operated mowers in the near future. The mower market is too big to just drop out like that without having a Plan B. Thanks for the vid!

Mine was working the. Stopped after hitting g something. When I pull the cable I hear a screeching sound and wheel won’t move. Almost like an obstruction. I went to the gear box but just lost some lubricant.
