That weird vocal effect was actually them using autotune/Melodyne cranked up to maximum. With a singer as powerful as Nate, autotune is basically not needed but they used it here just for effect.
I really love this album, I used to listen to it LOADS when I was younger. Back then I downloaded it and burned it onto a CD. Nowadays, as an avid vinyl record collector, I would love to add this album to my collection someday.
I think the songs about someone who used to make music for the fun of it. And after they became famous it was making music for money. And giving up everything and everyone you love because you have to tour.
