Also too, when going from a 3 to a 4. You will improve your hole shot but decrease your speed by 2 to 5 miles an hour. With my 3 blade 22 pitch was getting about 58 mph, with the 4 blade, getting 56 mph. But I love the 4 blade

Realized I messed up. Meant to say I got the Solas hr Titian 4 blade, if you are good on rpm’s with your 3 blade stainless steel now, and want the same rpm’s, drop 1 pitch, if need to come up in rpm’s drop another pitch. For every pitch change in a prop is 200 rpm’s. But to keep the same rpm’s from a 3 to a 4. If you are running a 23 pitch in a 3 blade, drop to a 22 pitch. I had a raker 14 1/2 by 22 pitch. I’m running a 14 solas 4 blade in a 21 pitch on an evinrude e-tech 150. With the 22 pitch was getting about 5885 rpms with the 3 blade, with the 4 blade it’s about 5800 rpms at wide open throttle. Tried a 23 pitch first and the hole shot was horrible, also I had a 400 rpm decrease and motor sounded like you were trying to pull 2-3 people up on skis at the same time. If you have a two stroke, you need to drill the prop out for exhaust holes on take off- it will bog the motor down like hell on take off if you don’t, if you have a 4 stroke you are fine without exhaust holes. When testing out a new prop, push in hubs have a break in period and you cannot just punch it for at least the first 3 hours, and idle forward and reverse for 10 mins. But with the hub you have your fine.
