Oh yes, this mission. Had to stop in between and rewatch the actual movie where the location is from. This thing is a great hommage to the second movie imho. On th eggs: When you have multiple clusters just burn them one by one with the flamethrower. They wont alert the others then.
i love the fact that at 34:20 you can see a xeno that is just standing there like stuffed animal. I can just imagine the xeno going ''if i do not move the ARC won`t see me''.
You're not the only person that played this that mention the inability to look at the map or see any of the information on the field while in the ARC. I think that would be a nice QOL update.
Need pouches odd. Running out of tools sucks. Espicially as I found that you can self a door to end a hunt time as long as it's not where you were last seen. Helps with stress and the difficulty clock.
Pouches are the most important common upgrades to be sure. More of everything; heals, rests/stress management and command points (which will save ammo expenditure as well). Also, in most cases running makes you be spotted significantly faster. Move slowly, Slowly :)
Love that the logs you find are more than just added lore, and are actually helpful in determining in-game choices. Well done dev team, though it might've been nice to have an option to detain them and make a final decision after reviewing all evidence. Something like use a tool to detain or a medkit to sedate and leave the final choice until squad extraction.
On some of the maps. You over stock up on ammo for your first group. Which means all subsequent groups wont have as much ammo. Might want to leave ammo on the map while keeping like 4-8 clips in reaerve
I personally think both of those choices are gonna come back to haunt you, first guy was defo one of the bad guys, and there is no way the second guy would still be alive in a den if he wasn't working for the aliens...... My 2 cents, but i could be wrong, lol, loving this series
Just a thought. At 16:47 Why not use the map and remotely relocate the ACR to fall back(without the squad) and mop up the Xenos next to you at the outer doors while it's moving? Costs nothing and gives you more room to maneuver inside when your tracker spots xenos running outside the buildings.
Now that you know the format (datapads inform innocence and people are behind welded doors), maybe don't open anymore welded doors until you have more datapads?
I think the flamer - other than the suppressed sniper of course - also classes as a silent kill for the egg sacks. Based on my playing of the game, most other means of destroying them causes a hunt.
Odd when you get detected just find a room or weld the one your currently in. It instantly stops the hunt and stops stress build up. Your trying to wait the hunt out but that builds both the aggressiveness and stress for no reason.
You totally missed the 'Drake Exposed' small print when you selected to rescue him. He was part of the Darwin group it said. But since you HAD that information I think they will contain him properly.....maybe.
I can't be the only one who everytime I watch your content, I'm humming the xcom intercept theme in my head, I dunno why I do it, but I do, never change, love the content
Overlapping fields of fire is key to turret survivability. Odd, dont forget to spam those sensors whenever your out of a previous sensor circle. Happy Hunting 🎉❤
"You're a murderer, Robert?" - cracks me up every time I hear the delivery. And that male voice actor ... I cannot pin him down, but I swear know him from some other game or anything...sounds so familiar somehow...
37:41 huh. "Drake was part of the Darwin Era. Good thing these guys love theirs bugs so much". I like how he completely doesn't acknolwedge that popup 😅
Lol your 1st engagement stepping out the carrier you could have sniped it. I'd recommend moving the carrier around ahead of your position (or just move it around while you don't need it to clear the map) if your worried about generating heat, then send it back for you or run behind it. Also you've done it most of the game but leaving those movement-trackers does help a lot in predicting where you'll disembark.
Remember xenos on hunts look for you when you were last spotted. Move to a different room as soon you're not detected, but still being hunted, for a better chance of not having to fight more of them.
Odd, i bless you. For in my game got glitched and the cultist were shooting my guys through the walls and got lengendary aim later on. Made me rage quit and now im playing minecraft.
Anyone who has played the game, can you control one unit at a time? Like for example, with the sniper unit, do you have to move all four soldiers or can you single out the sniper alone to sneak around? Seems so often he's trying to snipe but the sniper is at the back and the aliens are seeing the other units before the sniper is in position to start aiming.
There is a feature you can learn about in the codex that decides what order your marines move in based on their classes, so it is actually possible to create a squad that keeps a chosen person in front most of the time for easier ability use but doing that would limit what kinds of marine you bring with you on a mission. I only know this because Odd read that page in an early episode.
I remember I rented an alien vs predator rts strategy game for GameCube or Playstation... it was Resource gathering based i think, this game had me think of it, I barely played it but I miss it now
I'm not going to rag on Odd for the choice of saving Drake as even if he read everything, this is a new feature that was thrown at you, so ya i also wouldn't assume the logs were actually useful for information regarding choices, and only read them thinking they only had lore in them. That being said, it's a cool feature and i wish they introduced it earlier, or at least hinted at it being a thing with it saying that in future missions, cultist might try and infiltrate by pretending to be civilians needing rescue.
WHats the end result of making bad calls on survivors? Dead people best case scenario, failure to escape Lethe worst case scenario!. Although as an aliens experience goes you know they will escape Lethe... but 100% they will drag the aliens with them to a new planet lol.
Best thing to do when onslaught is incoming, asses to the wall, let them have only one path to you, have a long fov in that direction, point all of the turrets there, lay suppression fire, throw a flare and trust me, they're not coming through
When you drop 4 sentries at once noone of your squad can cover you, but if you dropped 2 sentries at a time youd have 2 squaddies that can cover you and once those 2 sentries where done youd now have 2 squaddies and 2 sentries covering the 2 squaddis building the 2 remaining sentries, its a potential weakness. All eggs in the same basket or spread out the eggs in multiple baskets situation
21:00 I wonder what slowly said to beardo for him to just clock them and knock off an armor point? maybe slowly was joking about them having more kills because they sniped all the aliens so far, and beardo was like "you shouldn't joke about this stuff *ss hole, I didn't sign up for this sh*t and your making jokes about it" *gets really angry and punches slowly in the face knocking off their helmet (the loss of one armor point) and damaging it.
The problem with this method , as you can see in the videp, is that the eggs spread in multiple place, and grenade one of them immediately triggered the others. That is why Odd ask the questions about a safe way to kill eggs
only thing I didn't like about this level was the fact that your couldn't make your decision later if you found you didn't find all the clues about them
just because you come across a lot of magazines, tools etc does not mean the game is "getting you ready for something big". you come across resources as you go and it's very rare that you get a lot right before a serious fight, there are times you had 16 magazines and lotsa meds and turrets but never came across a boss fight. i'm just saying it's kinda bad game design from an immersion or writing standpoint if games load you up before every major fight because if they do that it broadcasts what is about to happen which is lame and ruins it, negative points to any game that does that also you don't need a tool to break a weld, you just need one to weld in the first place
I have a TRUE question: are the game developpers OK with the fact that theirs games are showed with a thumbsnail creatd by AI which has nothing to do with their own design/characters/copyright/game? What do you think guys? Disrespectfull or whatever?
In the datapads, Drake refers to them and says looting will secure him a new life. He is a cultist. You now have a cultist on your ship
I am more interested what damage for cultist mole in Otago can do.
Oh yes, this mission. Had to stop in between and rewatch the actual movie where the location is from. This thing is a great hommage to the second movie imho.
On th eggs: When you have multiple clusters just burn them one by one with the flamethrower. They wont alert the others then.
That's really helpful, thanks! Sniping them one by one was really tedious.
i love the fact that at 34:20 you can see a xeno that is just standing there like stuffed animal. I can just imagine the xeno going ''if i do not move the ARC won`t see me''.
You're not the only person that played this that mention the inability to look at the map or see any of the information on the field while in the ARC. I think that would be a nice QOL update.
Chris: "This is a good squad. A very good squad..."
"Don't get too comfy"
lol
Hope Odd will remember what he reads about the other survivors before deciding what to do with them
Yeah...nope.
13:00 Absolute madman fired an RPG indoors..
*stealth kill*
"yeew laiiiiiiiiiiiike daaaaaaaaaaat haaaaaaah?"

25:00 absolutely love this sentry gun tactic.
lmao

I believe he will sabotage e Otaga. Maybe like trigger a day event
I can't be the only one who everytime I watch your content, I'm humming the xcom intercept theme in my head, I dunno why I do it, but I do, never change, love the content
38:09 imagine being rescued (or promised to be rescued) and then the marines weld the door back up lol
These marines need something to relieve from stress (and making makeshift ammo with resourceful trait that gives ammo while resting)
@@Frostwolf_103 wrong comment?
@@caolkyle Well kinda, it was mostly around "Well you're rescued, but don't mind us welding these doors"
27:40 you did better than men.
I just had 3 hunts + onslaught from the 3 rooms and came to youtube to see how I could have avoided it.
mincing voice: aah ahh ahh safe position taken!"
Man you have sharp eyes on this one those sleepers blend in so well
21 episodes in still stugling with Turret placements lol you'll get it one day ODD
You can use your drone and the make noise option to wake up all the eggs and lead them out to the APC
-- CHRIS. Todays (July 6th) update fixed the progression bugs in Pharo's Spire mission we discussed. Can confirm that personally.
that massive onslaught till the end of the vid was massivly satisfying :D
40:41 i bet drake the rescued civilian is pooping his pants in the apc right about now
" h-hey guys, whats going on? whats that alien yelling? "
Where you leave the sentry guns is so frustrating!!
Overlapping fields of fire is key to turret survivability. Odd, dont forget to spam those sensors whenever your out of a previous sensor circle. Happy Hunting 🎉❤
The game broke before Odd did. 07

Seeing that youre only like halfway through the game and not close to the end is amazing
some like to get their ducks in a row, Odd like to get his sentry guns in a line
I *wonder* what the Marine did to become the employee of month. Splashed with a pool of xenomorph blood or eaten one of the eggs
19:31
The snipes were clean
Man that silenced sniper is so OP
Lol your 1st engagement stepping out the carrier you could have sniped it. Drake was revealed to be a cult ('Darwin' bug reference ) worshipper after you rescued him "Drake - Exposed"
Remember xenos on hunts look for you when you were last spotted. Move to a different room as soon you're not detected, but still being hunted, for a better chance of not having to fight more of them.
This also works when welding in shelter rooms will stop the hunt faster than letting it running out.
I really wish there was an option to put the marines info to the side and have it always displayed.
Odd, i bless you. For in my game got glitched and the cultist were shooting my guys through the walls and got lengendary aim later on. Made me rage quit and now im playing minecraft.

Seems so often he's trying to snipe but the sniper is at the back and the aliens are seeing the other units before the sniper is in position to start aiming.
No, you can’t control them individually, unfortunately. I have the same trouble sniping xenos in my game too.
There is a feature you can learn about in the codex that decides what order your marines move in based on their classes, so it is actually possible to create a squad that keeps a chosen person in front most of the time for easier ability use but doing that would limit what kinds of marine you bring with you on a mission.

Burn the eggs with flamethrower didn’t start hunt for me
Usually when I want more xp I hang around the ARC or APC and cause onslaughts when I’m about to leave
I'm not going to rag on Odd for the choice of saving Drake as even if he read everything, this is a new feature that was thrown at you, so ya i also wouldn't assume the logs were actually useful for information regarding choices, and only read them thinking they only had lore in them. They should of sponsored your content Commander because you the best.
25:20 I had trouble finding it. Went out and back in a few times.
2:20 power armor...this is going to be a big fight...
38:49 whoa you see your sentry guns have an upgrade option ??
WHats the end result of making bad calls on survivors? Dead people best case scenario, failure to escape Lethe worst case scenario!. Although as an aliens experience goes you know they will escape Lethe... but 100% they will drag the aliens with them to a new planet lol.
I love how the sniper has a scilecer to make to maintain stealth then just yells "you like that HuHhh!"
Prediction: Face hugger loose aboard Otago.
Drake was aprt of the Darwin Era....
Best thing to do when onslaught is incoming, asses to the wall, let them have only one path to you, have a long fov in that direction, point all of the turrets there, lay suppression fire, throw a flare and trust me, they're not coming through

All eggs in the same basket or spread out the eggs in multiple baskets situation
You can adjust it so it’s not slow motion it’s on pause when you go to press your skills
very cool. this episode was very well played
Ooof somebofy didn't read a codex in depth. 😂☠️
Heh. Cornbread reference @19:10. 😄
don't get cocky game response killed me
21:00 I wonder what slowly said to beardo for him to just clock them and knock off an armor point? maybe slowly was joking about them having more kills because they sniped all the aliens so far, and beardo was like "you shouldn't joke about this stuff *ss hole, I didn't sign up for this sh*t and your making jokes about it" *gets really angry and punches slowly in the face knocking off their helmet (the loss of one armor point) and damaging it.
Ah, eggs, they are actually easy to handle as I found out that blowing eggs up with the grenade launcher doesn't make you detected.
The problem with this method , as you can see in the videp, is that the eggs spread in multiple place, and grenade one of them immediately triggered the others. That is why Odd ask the questions about a safe way to kill eggs
Like some people have mentioned you should use motion tracker need apc
only thing I didn't like about this level was the fact that your couldn't make your decision later if you found you didn't find all the clues about them
Mr.Odd I have a question it said Drake was part of the Darwin Era does that mean he will cause trouble on the ship? 37:41
You'll have a sabotage on your ship, but the game is bugged, so it doesn't matter who you'll save... Hopefully, they fixed it with the latest patch
That Intro lol
Deploying three sentry guns for a single blip? I understand the term cautious, but man...
Please put down mines outside rooms and in corridors it helps so much
Yeah the guy named ELIAS DRAKE is totally not a bad guy…
This mission is buggy with the crates that will cause your marines to get stuck behind and won't able to get out.
these AI-generated thumbnails are awesome!! :D :D
I checked all the logs and still had "info missing". This game is too bugged yet. :( Still great, I just hope they fix these bugs.
What does the wrong decision mean? Well we will find out :)
what about kirby? what If he ate every alien in there? you should have kirby in your squad, Odd.
Tools man. At least get your carrying capacity up to 6
Try sniper rifle on these eggs next time
I would've shot Drake on the spot since he was with that Elias person who was obviously a cultist.
wrong people sabotage the ship causing bad events to pop up
You do realize that red doors can be cut open. You missed rooms. Look for an x above the door. Please start looking, you are driving me crazy
Not all of them, only those with a health bar. Lot of red doors are permanently inaccessible; they have nothing.
Yes!!!
Beast me too it lol
cant you just snipe the eggs one by one ???
The game does the spotted alien callout if any of your motion trackers detect something, it doesn't differentiate squad sight.
👏👌
I am sort of curious when or if Odd will stop running his marines into unknown areas and just start walking instead.
That sounds like really boring content.
just because you come across a lot of magazines, tools etc does not mean the game is "getting you ready for something big". you come across resources as you go and it's very rare that you get a lot right before a serious fight, there are times you had 16 magazines and lotsa meds and turrets but never came across a boss fight. i'm just saying it's kinda bad game design from an immersion or writing standpoint if games load you up before every major fight because if they do that it broadcasts what is about to happen which is lame and ruins it, negative points to any game that does that

Nah it's fine
