    Filipinos are sweetest and even men fighting sounds more feminine .. they are beautiful and hardworking people. I have met them in Dubai and gulf.

    This is very much like the Cheraw Dance (Bamboo dance) from the state of Mizoram in India.
    The Mizos also have awesome costumes

    Filipinos are sweet welcoming people....been there for 6 years studying and had to leave with tears for good 😊 .......till now unsolved puzzle for me is how do they dance their traditional dance without hurting their legs 😅😅😅

      There are techniques in dancing Tinikling. One of which is to synch your moves with the music and those who move the bamboos must have impeccable timing too, in-synch with the music.

    It’s so cool to hear that both Filipino and a lot of Latin American folk music have a somewhat similar sound because of the Spanish influence, but each country has made it its own and added new spins to the sounds and dances

      Tinikling and/or Singkil are also my Top 1 favorite Philippine Folk Dances. Top 2 is Sayaw sa Bangko. Top 3 is Pandango sa Ilaw. Top 4 is Maglalatik. Top 5 is Curacha.

    In indonesia we also have this kind of dance named rangkuk alu or lompat tongkat. We usually use 4bars of bamboo stick two bars crossed the other 2 bars making plus sign.

      It's easy to learn. If you synch your feet with the beat of the bamboos and the music, you will perfectly dance it effortlessly. The men moving the bamboo must have perfect timing with the music too.

    The music sounds exactly like a Castilian or Aragonese "jota". Probably Spanish influence over there. I love it
