If only you could see how the shops operate here. It's horrible. They use the drill to file the natural nail down before application. My nails are naturally thin, so this really hurts and makes them paper thin. I have just recently started my hand at doing them myself after watching these videos. So far, I'm fairly confident in the acrylic dip. Thank you so much for showing me how nice this could be.
I love love loovvvee the ballerina nail :) it just makes your finger look so long and elegant looking, also it is more flattering on my nails! Yours looked perfect I love them.
I wish people around me would do nails like you do and actually care about there job. I can't find any good nail places around me at al. It's horrible and I hate it :/
Oh no that's a bummer - it is art- hard to find a good artist/ when your out in your community and you see someone and you like her nails - ask where she goes/ keep asking till you find a consistent name of a place 😀
I feel you. None of the salons in my area are educated enough about what they do, one nail tech asked me what is a nail form when I asked to use forms instead of tips, and she did tell me that she had been doing nails for 10 years. There is only one girl who does beautiful designs but she is so rude and so hard with the file that she butchers your natural nails, my friend hat to go to the hospital because her fingers swelled up and started bleeding
+Samantha Sanders that is how it is where I live too, so I began watching this channel and other videos now I just do my own nails i buy all my products at my local sally's
I love your videos! Even though I only do my own nails, never had acrylics and I don't plan on it, I just enjoy the way you speak and teach, it is very relaxing :) You are a very smart, funny and lovely lady. Kisses from Poland!
Angel Fifield Thank you - actually it's not a set, it's my real room I do all my clients in. My hubby films and lights the room for me. He does the editing, graphics and sound design too - I just don't let him do my make-up and hair lol.
Amazing! The teamwork definitely shows! Loved the new Beginners video, and you've definitely earned me sticking around! The way you explain things is really please and easy to follow. =)
You are so talented! I wish I could find someone like you where I live. I've been getting acrylics for about 2 years straight now. It's hard to find knowledgeable artists that are as skilled and thorough as you. Thank you for these awesome videos.
I have loved square nails all my life. This ballerina nail style is perfect for me, I don't like too long of free nail. Tapered tip with the blunt top is just beautiful looking, I think. Thank you, Susie for another great educational video. 😊
Hi, I am a cosmetologist and salon owner for over 20 years. I enjoy watching your channel! It inspires me and I always like to keep learning. thank you for all you wonderful videos!
You do a great job on shaping the coffin nails; I like the way you follow up after the drill with a hand file to do the beveling. You explain everything so well, I'm really enjoying your tutorials, learning things I either missed or forgot from school.
this is a crazy idea but I noticed u mentioned your hubby in one of your comment. if would be totally cool to see him do a nail art. maybe not your hands if you don't trust him (because your nails are goals), but maybe one of those fake hands!
I wish everyone who worked at a nail salon or a nail career was so passionate as you because i would love getting my nails done by someone cares about their customer's satisfaction . you are an amazing person who actually takes this seriously thanks !!😊💅🏻
I'm so happy I found your channel. I miss having my nails done but I stopped going to salons because they're so rough and I'm still dealing with a fungal infection on one toe from years ago because of a salon (and it wasn't a cheap place either), you've inspired me to try to do my own. Buying stuff slowly and will study your videos even more.
This is my new favorite nail shape. How short do you think you can make these and still maintain this ballerina shoe shape? All the images I've seen are very very long but it isn't practical for me.
+Terri Kim Your very smart - its tough to make this shape short - when the design starts at the FREE edge of the nail - you need a certain length to make the Ballerina impression :) Smart Girl
Everything about you is perfect , your attitude and techniques right down to the music you use in your videos. You look at your viewer's and explain really well! I seriously adore you 💛
+Gerald E Just about anything looks better than stiletto nails but these aren't much better. Just stick to classy square and squoval and you can't go wrong.
+Jessica Morrow I think it just depends on the persons taste and hands. I've had all different shapes and as much as I love the square shape, my fingers are to strong a shape for them. The almond shape makes my hands look more feminine xx
I actually never cared for the coffin shape until watching your videos. I finally tired out some press on's to see how I'd like wearing them before spending more money on having them done. I LOVE them!!
I don't care much for coffin nails , but your own nails are absolutely gorgeous! Don't go back to square nails it doesn't compliment your hands as much as almonds or stilettos does.
+Ginger Mathis Not really , depends on the form of the hand , not all nail shapes are for all hands , think of it as a hair style for someone , a hair style looks good on a person depending on the shape of the face form of the head , its simple as that. for the shape of her hands almonds look much much elegant and chic compared to squares. then again each to its own. every person has different taste.
Again I disagree. I am also a hairstylist that specializes in long hair. I have never found a face shape that long hair doesn't look good with. That old phrase has proven many times flawed as is the nail scenario you described. This shape makes the nails look unnatural and fake. I will not implement this horrific shape.
+Ginger Mathis uhm are you misunderstanding something here? by "this" you mean ballerina nails? or you talking about almond/round shaped nails? whats unnatural about round nails? thats how your fingers are shaped unless u have square fingers.
I have long natural nails and I did this shape to myself and I love it!!! I did file my nails back to prevent breakage. thank you so much for all of your helpful hints. you truly inspire me to fulfill my dreams ☺
I'd imagine it's because clients will only have to deal with the nail fumes & dust for an hour or so, as opposed to the nail tech who's breathing that air all day.
+Ebony Simon also when the tech is working on the mail they sometimes keep moving the hand closer to their face while working to see - while the client is sitting a little more back. And when they file and drill the dust is going more in the techs direction than at the client. Not that they don't care about the client's safety - it's just the tech's face is at closer proximity to the dust and fumes than the client's
I don’t get why there are so many dislikes. I love this! The coffin shape is on point... not over exaggerated like I usually see. I also love your nail shape, it’s a pretty almond shape. I wish you could do my nails. Where is your nail shop?! 😙.
For some people there is a slight difference. I always thought of ballerina as slightly more narrow, because of other techs on RUclips making that distinction.
If only the nail techs in my hometown were this gentle... I've been to a few places and somehow they always mess my nails up (bleeding cuticles, filing down my nails to the point they're soft and there's blood under them) or I don't get the service I want/paid for. Haven't gotten my nails done in so long and this made me miss having acrylics ):
Very informative video :) I personally am a "Stiletto shape" girl, but, I've been wanting to try the "Ballerina" shape. ("Coffin nails" sound so creepy) *XD*
YES!!! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have extremely flat, naturally square nails and am afraid to mess them up, but hopefully with the aid of this tutorial, I'll 'nail' it. Hyuck, hyuck. ;)
the only thing i miss in your videos is tha i never see yo use a pinch tool, so the c curve is not very pronunciated, or maybe you dont use it to make it look more natural?
the "slipper" that she used as an example is not a slipper. it is no where near close to feeling like a soft, comfortable slipper. and it is called a pointe shoe. and yes that is how you spell it because it is French. I am sorry if I sounded really harsh but it just got me worked up because I am a dancer and I do a lot of different styles of dance and pointe is one of the styles that I do. and I know that she does not do dance but I just had to clarify that it is not a slipper because it hurts like hell when you dance on it, it is hard as a rock and a ballet slipper is something completely different.
I did ballet and pointe for 11 years and trust me girl it's not that serious. people will assume you just want attention for something unique such as doing pointe. at least that's how I feel saying stuff like that so i just don't
+Patron Saint of Fashion u can F off. I don't know about where u live, but here in Canada, we have freedom of speech. and I'm sorry if I came off that way but Im very passionate for dance and I'd like it if people knew the difference between a ballet slipper and a pointe shoe. and I honestly don't care about what other people behind a screen, that I will never see in person, will say about me. and here u are saying that I just want attention for something. well honey if u're bashing on me then maybe u're the one that wants attention. and u can't be assuming that someone wants attention right off the bat. maybe I'm just really passionate about dance and I wanted to clarify that it is not a ballet slipper(which I said in my comment!). and one more thing, honey if u'd like it I'll just stop commenting on videos if that makes u happy! oh honey no I'm not doing anything for u, a person that just made me go on and type all of this up. so u can go f urself
I found this video very helpful. Thank you! I recently started wearing this ballerina shape on my natural nail, and a number of people ask me about how I file my nail to get this shape. This video is perfect to answer that question. Thank you!
I am lucky and can grow my own nails (thanks grandma/mom!) got from that side of family... I love this shape! Going to let them grow out a bit and reshape. I just love that green also!! Seeing it in a bottle i would be scared but seeing it on nails... LOVE IT!!
you are one of the best teachers for nails an using acrylic. The next video i would love to see would be a short stiletto almost like an a almond but with a pointer tip. thanks so much for your teaching. LOVE YOUR WORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Uniquely antionette Thank you - and good idea Ill add this to my list :) Oh if you didn't see it Check out the Almond Shape Video - that may answer some of your questions - keep me posted
Hi i just started doing my own nails and watching your videos is so much fun. i love the way you take your time to show step by step. and it makes me feel so peaceful. thank you 💜
Just found your videos and I love everything about it. The way you explain things, your set up and the awesome video quality! I wish I could have my nails done by you. Love from The Netherlands
That green color was beautiful. It looks like one of those colors that doesn't look good in the bottle but is gorgeous on. I got a light green like that.
Angel Holbrook HAHAHAHA - your right - it looks terrible in the Bottle - but it really is pretty on - it's an older colour by OPI - called...."UH-OH Roll Down The Window".
My favorite part is when she puts her glasses on in her videos. Shits about to go down.
So true
Yas! Lol 😂❤️🙌🏼
ikr :')
LOOOL
😂
Beautiful shape. Definitely one of my favorite's
+Creativenailart Yuck!
You were born to teach this. God bless you. you found your calling

Coffin shaped nails are beautiful! I love them
I really enjoy the way you teach! And everything looks so gorgeous and professional from the work you're doing and the set/room you're in!
Angel Fifield Thank you - actually it's not a set, it's my real room I do all my clients in. My hubby films and lights the room for me. He does the editing, graphics and sound design too - I just don't let him do my make-up and hair lol.

Ughh I wish she could do my nails 😩😍

I have loved square nails all my life. This ballerina nail style is perfect for me, I don't like too long of free nail. Tapered tip with the blunt top is just beautiful looking, I think. Thank you, Susie for another great educational video. 😊
I get so exited every time I get a notification that you uploaded a new video lol.
I love the coffin shape :) and that green nailpolish is sooo beautiful!
I LOVE your videos. I'm addicted! You teach soooo well and the videos look so nice
Taylor K Thank you Taylor :)
I am so glad you go into the more "strange" styles, seemingly, without hesitation.

+Elizabeth Morrison uh oh roll down the window is what the green is called, not sure what brand though
Sena Cooper thanks! just looked it up, it's by OPI

I really like your tutorials. They're very informative, easy to understand, & thorough. Thank you!
😀😀
These are beautiful. I really need a nail tech exactly like you. It's challenging finding a really good one. Oh the pain of bad nail techs...
Hi, I am a cosmetologist and salon owner for over 20 years. I enjoy watching your channel! It inspires me and I always like to keep learning. thank you for all you wonderful videos!

+Nola A That's great - glad to help :)
You have such a warm personality. I love it :)
i am LIVING for this color!! I always get my nails either coffin or stiletto, so these are ideal for me! great work!
+mikeal Martinez Thank you :))
+mikeal Martinez R u a girl or boy?
this is a crazy idea but I noticed u mentioned your hubby in one of your comment. if would be totally cool to see him do a nail art. maybe not your hands if you don't trust him (because your nails are goals), but maybe one of those fake hands!
OMG!!! you gave the BEST instruction ever on how to shape a coffin nail! Thank you!
bdiamond78 Your very welcome :)
That green 💕💕💕

Thank you Cathy😀💜
I Swear This Lady Is The Kewlest.

+Nail Career Education I swear your the best 😍🔐👌
This was so intriguing and strangely relaxing! I never knew how much work and art went into just shaping a nail.
+Jennifer Ann Ya - its alot eh - check out my Stiletto Video ;))
I love your work
I'm so happy I found your channel. I miss having my nails done but I stopped going to salons because they're so rough and I'm still dealing with a fungal infection on one toe from years ago because of a salon (and it wasn't a cheap place either), you've inspired me to try to do my own. This is exactly why I stopped getting pedicures & do my own now. I just get toenail paint & do my pedicure at home.
This is my new favorite nail shape. How short do you think you can make these and still maintain this ballerina shoe shape? All the images I've seen are very very long but it isn't practical for me.

i hate getting my nails done but i love watching these videos, it makes me want to become a nail technician lol
omghee..you're like my dream nail tech..
Heehee- thank you Stacee😀
I actually never cared for the coffin shape until watching your videos. I finally tired out some press on's to see how I'd like wearing them before spending more money on having them done. I LOVE them!!
What color acrylic powder did you use? It looks so natural!
+Heidi QM I either use a natural or a blend of several pinks form the same line :))
These are absolutely beautiful. You go girl!
I don't care much for coffin nails , but your own nails are absolutely gorgeous! Don't go back to square nails it doesn't compliment your hands as much as almonds or stilettos does.
I agree
+Shirorin I totally disagree. The square look is much better and classy.

If I ever go the part of Canada where she has a salon, I’m getting my nails done with her. And that is in my bucket list from this day on!
OMW that was absolutely beautiful!! I wish you could do mine :(
Lauren Carlson Well if you ever in Canada on the West Coast....
Awww! I'm from South Africa, but I'm crazy enough to go over just for my nails, seriously :D
HAHAHA I LOVE your profile pic :)
Nail Career Education Lol awww thank you!
I have long natural nails and I did this shape to myself and I love it!!! I did file my nails back to prevent breakage. thank you so much for all of your helpful hints. you truly inspire me to fulfill my dreams ☺
i have a really curious question why doesn't the client wear the face mask too?
I'd imagine it's because clients will only have to deal with the nail fumes & dust for an hour or so, as opposed to the nail tech who's breathing that air all day.
+Ebony Simon also when the tech is working on the mail they sometimes keep moving the hand closer to their face while working to see - while the client is sitting a little more back. So ballerina and coffin is the same shape just a different name?!
+Shannon Murphy-Thornley OK. Thank you. None of the techs I've been to can shape them right so I thought it was a difference.
Elyse Ward yes it's the same thing
@@elysemw Gemma Lambert does a great video on these shapes, the lady that did the niao videos at one time
For some people there is a slight difference. I always thought of ballerina as slightly more narrow, because of other techs on RUclips making that distinction.
@@stepmothercity what the lady gemma Lambert's take on shape's that will give you a different take.
Im addicted to these videos! Im trying so hard to learn :)

Haven't gotten my nails done in so long and this made me miss having acrylics ):
Ya/ Ive learned not all nail techs are created equal 😀
I agree, I finally just started doing them myself!
I couldn't stop aw-ing over how healthy & beautiful your hair looks! Loved the video too. Coffin nails are my favorite!
What happens if you accidentally touch the skin with the carbide bit?
Oh😳HUMAN HAMBURGER! Ouch !!!
+Nail Career Education your so talented I love your channel! ❤️😀
I can't even deal. I love Suzie so much haha
what is the name of the green nail polish? thanks :)
It UH-OH roll the window down by OPI

I find these demo videos so soothing! Thanks for sharing! ♥
Very informative video :) I personally am a "Stiletto shape" girl, but, I've been wanting to try the "Ballerina" shape. ("Coffin nails" sound so creepy) *XD*
I want nails like this with the nude polish, absolutely stunning!
Susie have you ever touched a clients skin with the carbine bit
YES - :( not a good moment
what was his or her reaction
Monique Barrios AAAAAAHHHHHHHH
I've experienced that and yes AAAAAAHHHHHHH is a fairly accurate interpretation 😃
Loreto Hidalgo She did a video on this back in March 2016.
I'm always so excited to watch any of your videos! You're work is amazing
Thank you Janet- welcome to my channel😊
that's a pointe shoe not a ballet slipper
Omg i am in love w this nail!!! Color is amazing

i use gel toe pads and baby teething cream
