I done the same as you Peter.....paid exactly what you paid and fitted a UK plug and Away you go. Saving £550 on buying one from Harrods which is/was the only place in the Uky that they sell this machine. Between me and my wife, we use this machine around 10 times a day and it's great. Although having said that I've just had to send it back to Delonghi, as when making a coffee, no water/coffee is coming out of the 2 spouts......I've done all the things they suggest regarding having a air lock in the system, but to no avail. The person at delonghi said it could be the pump. This will be the 2nd time it's been back to them.....the 1st time was a faulty selenoid. I'm not overly worried about this being the 2nd time back to them, as the machine does get a lot of use and I guess they are like anything else mechanical.....they break down !!! Overall I love the machine....and it looks very cool too.
Hi ,just purchased the 6900 but having great problems trying to get a hot milky drink latte or cap. turned the temp up to max but the milk when comes out of the kuraffe is luke warm therefore not a nice Latte any suggestions.
Hi.....to be honest this is the 2nd delonghi machine ive owned.....the 1st being the 6600. That machine was exactly the same in that the milky drink are not as hot as i would like them. I usually either make sure the cup has been on the cup warmer beforehand...or i usually microwave the drink for 10 secs. I know the microwave is not ideal but i kinda knew this before i bought the 6900. Im pretty used to it now and sometimes dont even bother to microwave it. I dont think the delonghi machines are alone with this problem. Apparently latte's and cap are not supposed to be a real hot drink....however im with you in liking it a bit hotter than it is.
***** the milk isnt supposed to be hot because if the milk is hot it changes the drink completely best thing to do is microwave your cup for 30 seconds ,the uk have a tradition of hot drinks thats why we expect hot coffee but in italy the coffee with milk is served like this machine ,being made in italy ,making the milk to hot ruins the flavour for me ,so my drink is in between hot and warm, and its awsome
To be honest Peter. ...I'm used to it now....I just use the cup warmer on top of the machine....plus like you say, coffee ain't supposed to be piping hot. My machine is making hot drinks but not steaming hot, which is nice. I think it's down to the fact that we in UK expect steaming hot drinks....but coffee is much nicer when not boiling hot. On a side note....my 6900 is in for repair atm.....hoping to get it back today.
OK , they sent me a new one the other 2 many problems , this one has been back twice ,only 1 year old, solenoid prob, pcb changed, new ntc sensors, and its still crap, the coffee comes out to hot , would never buy one again they must have production issues, which they dont fix ,go for a jura z9 if you want what this donkey does and more
Brilliant 🤩
