Thank you so much for this! Not only great laps, but good comments, and I really like the system you have there with the chase cam then racing line. Really helpful.
I’m very new to iracing and struggled for over a week to come to grips with the characteristics of the sim. I stuck with it and have been consistently getting 56.69 laps at Summit Point. In 4 races, I have 2 poles, a 2nd and a 4th. My race craft requires work as I let the pressure of drivers behind force me into a mistake, usually at the final turn. I’ll use your tips and see how I can improve more! Thanks!
Sounds like you’re doing great. Summit Point Jefferson is a really tricky track at the best of times, even for an experienced driver on iRacing. Next week it’s Lime Rock GP and it’s far less like driving on ice and should make for some good racing.
To me even Oran Park Moto felt to be a qualifying oriented track. Most of my races in ~1.3k ELO started with a big crash at the first two corners that put anyone below P5 5-15 seconds behind. This one seems to be even more extreme in that regard. Thanks for the guide!
yeah i felt the same, whenever i tried to push on my qualy lap and i invalidate my lap, that race became pure chaos with lots of crashes at the first two corners, leaving me with -0.13 safety rating every fn race. This will be no different, even more chaotic i would say
Totally agree with you both, neither have any great safe passing places. T He bonus of Jefferson is going to be the amount of places you’ll be able to pick up from people spinning out.
Do lessen the brake bias on every track? I noticed you didn’t mention in the video but I found in the comments. Your Oulton guide you mention the brake bias but that’s the only video I’ve heard it. Sorry for the rookie question, this is my first season in iracing and your video’s have made me competitive in rookies haha.
Thanks for this Sam. Really appreciate you taking the time to post these guides. I'm not actually finding this track too bad in terms of consistency on the the limit as long as I don't overcook T5 but I'm really struggling with late entry understeer into T1. I just cant get it turned in like you can. I am shifting down to 3rd earlier than you so maybe I need to work on that. But the car just seems to always want to wash wide at late entry. Can I ask what Brake Bias you are running? A small thing which may help some. I found short shifting to 4th at the crest before T5 and then downshifting to 3rd really helps with turn in and stabilizes the car with the engine breaking. Its not faster but its not much slower and I find it more consistent. If anyone is struggling with loosing the rear at that corner that is an option at least while you learn how to balance the throttle through there. I don't do it most laps but its a trick to have up your sleeve. Regards, Blake M
@@OfficialAustrikerIRL the first race is usually best for top split SoF yeah but unless you’re in the top split then your SoF will likely just be somewhere around your iR. The main thing is just to keep racing and enjoy yourself. I only really started to worry about the championships once I was in the top ten or so in division one and even then, it’s secondary to just enjoying the service.
@Sambo_iRacing ha yeah I know. I enjoy racing and am way back in div 4, but I like the championship point system. I used to get a lot of poles and wins, but am now in top split a lot of the time for Formula Vee so have to redefine success
@@OfficialAustrikerIRL yeah I feel you. I genuinely, about 7-8 months ago posted on the iRacing Reddit sub in Reddit disheartened that I’d made it to top split and all of a sudden I couldn’t get wins etc etc. Someone suggested just enjoy it, try and race your car number and get hours in the rig. Was the best advice I ever received and slowly I started getting podiums more frequently and then the odd win and now I feel fairly confident I can stick with anyone.

Thank you too mate, honestly, feedback like this really does mean the world to me. Hope you stick around for the coming season.

I really like your videos and have learned a lot from them. Please keep doing what you do and thanks! 😊
Thanks Dirk. Kind of you say.
ty for this mate
No problem. Hope it’s useful this week.
Its going to be a fun week. Thanks Sam
Thanks for watching

I knock the BB back 4 clicks from baseline buddy.
Thanks mate. Appreciate that@@Sambo_iRacing
Aiming for a 55.something - Current best lap 56.5, all the time is in those last corners. Super tough ones as you mentioned
Believe me, a 56.5 will be very competitive here. What my guide doesn’t show is all of the 56’s and spins I had whilst testing.
Thanks for the pep talk 👍 Thinking early week races the best chance at good championship points

That time’s mental. I can’t even finish a lap here.
Ha. It’s a tricky track with these temps for sure.
