@Robert Lee, Countertenor The Royal Ballet's pianists absolutely outstrip any other company's pianists by miles, in terms of their technique, their power and their sheer inventiveness when playing for company class- inspired by their Head of Music, Robert Clark.
Nela is one of the few dancers today that actually dance instead of just going through perfect positions. Her movements come from internal feelings, emotions and intentions. They are actions more than movements. It's not a body moving, it's a soul speaking. So important and fundamental to art and so forgotten these days.
Vadim has grown into such a beautiful dancer over the years. His smile the entire time and the ease with which he supports Marianela makes this so amazing to watch. Thank you!!
I can't even think about the day she'll retire... I've never seen someone like her , dancing with all her heart, feeling every single part of her body, giving a meaning to every single movement, giving herself through every choreography... I fell in love with her artistically the second I saw her, and I think it will just break my heart when she'll stop dancing... God bless you Marianela, you're the definition of Dance to me. PS : Vadim is incredible too but hey everyone gets his favorite 😅
Just beautiful, the look of sheer joy on their faces! They are such an amazing pairing. Nela is just sublime and an absolute asset to the Royal Ballet, she's just flawless.
She is the epitome of grace. She obviously has perfect positions but her upper body is flawless, she focuses on artistry rather than the number of pirouettes she can do.
I watched this live when Royal Ballet went live on World Ballet Day 2020. It was the first time ever I saw a ballet performance and dancers rehearse because in my country ballet isn't popular. Marianela and Vadim were the first ballet dancers I saw that day perform and I was completely mesmerized! Both smiling and dancing so effortlessly, so beautifully! I clearly remember Vadim's hair flying when he would jump! And Marianela's dancing was pure and made everything look easy! By now I've seen some more ballets but till date, it's only their partnership that I absolutely enjoy watching. The charm of firsts, I guess! Love you both, Nela and Vadream!
I don't think this is danced at the tempo envisaged by Balanchine, but seeing Nunez and Muntagirov dancing with such smoothness and harmony, I actually like this slower pace. One has time to appreciate the choreography and atmosphere.
@Oxy Cat Yes, that is a great performance from Peck. Great tempo. I find the McBride Baryshnikov version just a bit too fast. I could not find the name of Peck's partner.
Your statement is true, however, that is the brilliance of the original tempo with the original choreography. It is very typical for Europeans to slow down tempi for the sake of achieving choreography but that hinders the development of the artist. It almost never occurs that music is slowed for the attainment of movement in neoclassical or contemporary ballet. Just my thoughts.
Sooooooo musical. Complete command of her body, using it as the music tells her to. Both WITH each other, and TO each other, FOR the audience. If only all dancers did this!
These two together are sublime. ❤❤ The chemistry, musicality, and artistry is a dream to watch. Long may we see them continue to dance together. From the first time I watched a performance by them. I have continued to always be impressed. It will be a very sad day when both retire.
This is ridiculously beautiful and sublime. It transcends full costume display to strip every movement to the bone. Pure art married with technical expertise. Takes one's breath away. Love the way the division in the skirt moves from front to back during the dance. Thank you so much for so much beauty.
I've never seen anything so very magical. It always allows me a reminiscent view of these two artists. Maybe crippled reality gets in the way. Thank you very much.
Loved this World Ballet segment inspiring to see the work involved. Watch the complete telecast and other companies,,,,take us away from the worry in the World at this time,,,AND,,this Pianist is excellent.
Ah, Vadim is coming along nicely, I see. I've really been enjoying watching him develop over the past few years. He's still growing into that tall and lanky frame; there's still a lot of the boyish in him (as a side note, nothing to do with his dancing, I'm so very glad to see his skin problem has cleared up, because I know he was very self-conscious about it and the cruel social media comments). I never thought I'd say this, but that sweet, goofy face may end up quite handsome in another two or three years! Looks aside, the important thing has always been Vadim's talent. That's always been mature for his age. Here also has an excellent attitude and work ethic. I'd imagine any of the women in the company are quite chuffed to learn they'll be paired with Vadim, knowing he'll be rock steady and make them look their best.
I’m not sure I would like to see my skin problems (in the past or not) discussed in a public forum.....I don’t really think personal comments or discussions about a dancer’s looks are appropriate - or relevant. Agree with everything you say about his talent - he is the most beautiful male dancer I think I have ever seen - but I’m not sure how old you think he is when you talk about him still growing into his body. He is a grown man now.
I agree totally. I think he may be my favourite ballerin of all time- grace, charm, effortlessness. He floats and his respect for his partners is wonderful
The music was composed by Tchaikovsky for Swan Lake but was not used when the ballet was originally staged. The score was rediscovered decades later and Balanchine choreographed it somewhat in the style of Soviet era bravura duets. Nuñez and Muntagirov dance it very beautifully, but at a tempo much slower than Balanchine intended.
I have never seen a ballerina who uses her face so much too to show the emotion and character. She understands that ballet acting too, not just dancing.
Am I the only one frustrated that I can’t see the choreography because of the cuts to 3/4 shots and close-ups of faces? The joy of watching rehearsals is in seeing the WORK, the whole bodies in space, the HOW of it, the sweat of it. When WBD started, it was like having the “choreographer’s viewpoint”. La Scala posted a Giselle rehearsal this year that put a lump in my throat because it was SIMPLE: Without distracting camera, I saw elements of the movement I’d never even seen before. Despite having seen that pas de deux a hundred times. I think RBC dancers are the finest in the world. But watching the “improved” WBD format, with the mood lighting and close ups makes me feel sad and frustrated. The treat of WBD was watching my favorite dancers as if I’d snuck into a workaday rehearsal room. Now it feels like the camera is upstaging the dancers. I wish you would go back to a simpler filming style.
Yes, it is not Balanchine. The entire point of the Tchai pas is speed, with flawless precision and musicality. Tyler Peck is its supreme Balanchine interpreter.
The pianist deserves a compliment too!
Naaaah.

What is the name of this melody, ballet?

Tears in my eyes seeing so much beauty and hearing that wonderful piano
@@josinepouwels497 das geht mir ganz genau so 😭😭❤️❤️❤️wunder wunderschön 👍🏼🏆🏆🏆
She is the perfection
Well said! The feeling she evokes seems to go far beyond technique... amazing.
So true
Vadim has grown into such a beautiful dancer over the years. His smile the entire time and the ease with which he supports Marianela makes this so amazing to watch. Thank you!!
i know! i was just going to say i just LOVE their chemistry
He is amazing..

yeah same! can't think about the ballet world without Nela~

Agreed.
Yes, she is so generous. She is always giving.
The end with the pirouettes and port de bras and fish dive was interesting. All smooth like if nothing 😯
Just beautiful, the look of sheer joy on their faces! They are such an amazing pairing.
Nela is just sublime and an absolute asset to the Royal Ballet, she's just flawless.
Marianela’s always smiling xD oh and also she looks gorgeous without makeup
Pretty sure she's wearing some, albeit not full stage makeup -- agreed, though, she is one gorgeous lady!
And she is very nice
She is the epitome of grace. She obviously has perfect positions but her upper body is flawless, she focuses on artistry rather than the number of pirouettes she can do.

Amazing! This types of videos inspire me to do ballet. Marianela and Vadim are incredible
♥️♥️
Love to see her pairing with Vadim, they have such chemistry!
My word is she pure magic or what?? She is a GIFT
Wow, she just glides. Dancers so well together: early on she was floating gracefully down. Great share. Rehearsal coolness.
her smile lights up the world
Love their smiles! What a great duo!
Each one is marvelous and together they are perfect.
I can't help but smile the whole time everytime I watch Nela and Vadim. 🥰🥰🥰 Love. From Brazil. 🙏🏽😉

@@elizzy8754 Joaquin de Luz. They're two spectacular dancers and the tempo is correct, as it is in the McBride/Baryshnikov version.
Sooooooo musical. Complete command of her body, using it as the music tells her to. Both WITH each other, and TO each other, FOR the audience. If only all dancers did this!
The Vadream Team - perfection - even in rehearsal
Ugh they make it look so effortless!! Stunning job!
I love these two. Just wonderful. Thank you Royal Ballet for bringing us these special moments to us of art in the times we are in.
These two together are sublime. ❤❤ The chemistry, musicality, and artistry is a dream to watch. Long may we see them continue to dance together. From the first time I watched a performance by them. I have continued to always be impressed. It will be a very sad day when both retire.
Luckily there are moments like this, thank you
True dancing every bit of her from top of head to tips of fingers and toes Her expression superb and you can tell she dances from the Heart !!
She makes it looking so easy and flawless. Love it
How wonderful that we can see beauty like this ... thank you

Beautiful lines, both of them. Gorgeous extension. 😍 They both look so happy to be dancing again. SO ARE WE!!! ⚡️💃🏼🕺🏻😁
the lift at 1:08 is beautiful and so so graceful
They need to show the whole thing including the solos and the coda to show them both off properly.

...dare I say Marianela has Margot's smile, absolutely delightful. xx
They nailed it without making any mistakes when they're doing in this rehearsal.
Marianela is sheer perfection.
Perfection. And this is *after* not being in the studio for how long..? Heaven.
No one looks genuinely happier when they dance than Queen Nela 💖
Très élégant! *chef's kiss*

They both define how technical excellence allows ultimate artistic freedom. She is just in a league of her own
She really is marvelous! Her legs go right with apparently no effort.

2:50 she hit the piano notes with her leg
好美!

Nela!!!!!!!
Piękne.
so she’s perfect... got it.
Vadim deserves credit too, he had her on her LEG !
Vadim has a little Damian Woetzel look about him in the face. This tempo is SUPER SLOW....
