The Guppy Multiple Moving Average (GMMA) is a tool used in trading to spot shifts in trends, breakouts, and potential trading chances in an asset's price. It does this by combining two sets of moving averages (MA) with varying time periods.
The Guppy Multiple Moving Average (GMMA) was developed by an Australian trader named Daryl Guppy, which is why it bears his name. Daryl introduced the GMMA in his book, Trend Trading.
The Guppy technique is a trend-tracking method that consists of 12 exponential moving averages (EMAs). By using multiple lines, the Guppy enables traders to perceive the strength or weakness of a trend more effectively compared to relying on just one or two EMAs.
The 12 EMAs are divided into two groups:
(1st) - The first group comprises six EMAs with shorter time periods, often referred to as the "short-term" group. (2nd) - The second group consists of six EMAs with longer time periods, known as the "long-term" group.

For those asking the time frame:
This is a trend strategy which typically works more realibly on medium to higher time frames (30m up to D).
This strategy works on smaller tf but will give lots of false signals so youd need to couple this with good price action fundamentals and S&R levels.
The times frames used in the video are 30m for the first section (teaching) and Daily for the examples.

I have been trading for about 6 months now and just about every trade backfires and slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points I try to do top down analysis but it doesn't work for me . I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless, any advice for a struggling trader?
Your problem could be your stop loss is too close or you're watching your trades too much. Place it and walk away. Or you could just give up, trading isn't for everyone.
@@williamsdanvers Don't listen to him, don't give up. Trading takes time(months, even years) to master, even the pros learn everday. Never the less, if you lose money no matter which side you take, maybe you need to look at how you are managing active trades rather than how you are entering them. My advice, find a mentor . And also, try incorporating the use of oscillators, Bollinger and pivot points into your strategy. And most importantly move to higher TFs(4h or 1D preferably), you'll thank me later.
@@flykinglei9201 You're correct, I don't lose money every single trade, but my main problem is trying to let my runners run. Very rarely do I catch big moves . Instead they go a few pips in my direction, then go against me if when I try holding them. Also my entries could use a lot of improvement. A mentor would be amazing, but getting one is easier said than done. If it's not too much to ask, do you know any legit ones?

Interesting concept, although it would seem as if you could get by with just *FOUR* EMAs instead of *TWELVE.* What if … you just used the outer two of each set? Wouldn’t the other four of each set fall in between those sets of two?
I also wonder how much stress it would place on your trading platform to plot 12 separate EMAs for each chart …
Putting our time and effort in activities & investments that will yield a profitable return in the future is what we should be aiming for.

My advice is always to keep the majority in ETFs that cover multiple sectors,then have a couple stocks/ cryptocurrencies as a small percentage

Nonsense Mkts are sideways 2/3rds of the time & all such MA crossovers will fail during those time Just having a bunch of them makes little difference (rather adds to the confusion)
