I have an ethernet connection direct to my PC. Will connecting this router via this ethernet connection provide the benefit of making my PC and other devices WIFI?
Yes that is the purpose of a wireless router. to take a single connection modem, and allow more than one client device to connect to it. Set up is: Modem > Router > Computers and other client devices.
I bought the TL-WR84ON wireless N router, and when i plug it in the main router (Modem) the Internet LED keeps blinking in orange continuously. I did all the steps in the App and when i try connecting it to my phone it connects but without wifi, also How's it considered a wireless router if i have to plug a ethernet cable to the modem. it genuinely makes me so mad.
This channel is not monitored over the weekend so if you post a comment on the weekends an answer won't be possible until Monday at the earliest. Also this channel does not provide troubleshooting so if you have a concern with a product you would need to contact support by visiting TP-Link.com, clicking on Support and then Contact Technical Support. Your concern more than likely requires the WAN to be configured for your ISP. It's a wireless router not because it connects to the internet wirelessly but because it provides a wireless signal for clients to connect to the network vs having to need a physical cable for each device.
When I log into my account it disconnects because i have to be in the tp links rooter to connect from the mobile app but when I do my account disconnects automatically because I have no connections even if I activate my mobile data at the same time
WiFi 6 is the 6th generation of WiFi. It does not mean 6GHz. 6GHz was not introduced until after WiFi 6 was released and established. It was added to 6GHz but as an enhancement this is called WiFi 6E.
I cant get this router to connect to my Starlink. I've tried two different TP Link routers now. It just keeps telling me that its not receiving internet, or that cables arent connected and to check connections.
For traditional router you can set up with the Tether app or through the Web UI. Both options should be highlighted in the QIG. The App is simpler setup option and is what was used for the video.
It is a router so yes, it will provide wifi connectivity. Strengthening the signal is really about placement and the environment the router is deployed in.
@@TPLINKTECH Sorry, I did not clarify my query. I mean, is the device connected via Wi-Fi in order to strengthen the Wi-Fi access point, or via an Ethernet cable?
@@MrFahhad It sounds as if you are asking questions related to a range extender, but this product is a router. A router does not strength anything. Its the source of the internet. For your ISP it must be a wired provider who's modem is connected to the router's WAN by Ethernet.
I bought a new router but still with tp-link but with the new router the internet light is always red so my question is do I have to call you people to make my router work?
No not generally. However what you are describing sounds like you might be a cable company customer and are experiencing MAC Binding. This article explains this concern and provides a working resolution. community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/150603
This Router is not a gateway so to use it with any service type you will need a modem, compatible with your service to be able to use it. Additionally I cannot say how this product would work in Africa. This channel is geared toward US audiences and the products discussed here are US products. For regions outside of the US you might want to look at TP-Link Global Support's RUclips Channel or contact your local support office.
That is not double NAT. The Xbox cannot cause double NAT as it does not provide IP assignment. Double NAT can only be caused by connecting a router to another router.
A router will almost always need a Modem/Gateway/ONT. The exception is Routers that have one of those items built in. You can also look for a Router that advertises 4G/LTE/5G but in those devices a USB dongle or Simm card is needed.
Google translated this as: If I am not going to connect cable, but through Wi Fi as I configure pa that gives me signal? If this is a proper translation then I must point out that to use a router with internet access you have to have it physically connected to a modem or ISP service via Ethernet cable. Linking the router to a wireless internet provider is not possible.
Like all routers you will still need a internet service provider and a compatible modem for their service. The router only provides a network for your clients to connect to and access the ISP service.
Typically a modem is required. The exception is if your ISP delivers internet service into your home via Ethernet. If this is the case then you can connect that cable directly to the router's WAN port. If it doesn't a modem will be needed.
@@EL_ES_MUY_SABIXI Not sure what you are asking. You modem should be compatible with the speed package you pay for from your ISP. For example if you have Cable and pay for anything above 300 Mbps you will need a Docsis 3.1 modem. The ethernet port on all Docsis 3.1 modems is Gigabit so you shouldn't need to worry about the physical link between the modem and router
As you setup the router for the first time, whether it be through the WebUI or Tether app, you will be prompted to customize the network settings. If you don't use the setup Wizard then you can open the WebUI or Tether app, connect to the router, and then choose wireless and make the changes from that menu.
If you don't see a 6GHz option then you likely don't have the same router. We do have a common chassis among several models so you likely have a Wifi 6 router and not a Wifi 6E one.

The Router doesn't have a Fiber port so you would need an ONT from your ISP that converts the Fiber to a readable signal via Ethernet. You may also need your ISP to help determine how the Router's WAN should be configured. Some Fiber providers do not use Dynamic and instead have a specific configuration for the WAN
Maybe, but only for the mobile routers. This video is based on a standard traditional router so for these type of devices no, a SIm card is not needed.

Nice video. Please could you answer this: Scenario: Using a rented facility without access to their router. However have access to Wi-Fi. Can i connect to their Wi-Fi internet to this router without connecting the Cat cable ?
No, Routers whether they are in AP or Router mode will need physical access to the source of the internet. A Range Extender can connect to the source or internet and provide a stronger signal.
