My sister and I just went to the last concert. We've both been going through a lot lately and we just held hands and cried during this song it will always be our song now.
this brings back so many memories from the mid 1980s, my father lost his job and had to go from temp to temp to keep the family together. He later told me he thought of ending it as he felt he had no value. But as a family we came through it and he eventually found a job that he was proud of. This song tells me the story of that time, and although it brings a tear, it is also a message of hope.

I have a funny story to tell. A few years ago I went to see peter live and when I got to the venue a guy held the door open for me and he looked exactly like Peter and I thought wow he really looks like Peter Gabriel he must be some kind of dedicated groupie so I said thank you mate when he held the door open for me and I sat in my seat and about 10 minutes later the same guy walked down to the bottom of the stairs and got on the stage and it was actually him I can't believe I missed the opportunity of saying hello and thanks for your music that memory has always made me laugh !!
