Wild Strawberries for their size, pack a punch of real strawberry flavor that cannot be matched artificially. I really like that Artwork with the Natural Plants.
Hi Marina is your house built of stone? If so dampness tends to seep through naturally. I believe if you use lime plaster this allows the walls to "breathe" , reducing the effects of the damp. Also dont use "normal" paint on the walls, rather use a thin limewash, this also lets the stones breathe. Hope this is of some use. Best wishes from N.E. England : )
my grandma used to live nearby and she always tell me how it was really cold and humid all the time, especially in winter 🥺 my whole family is now based in follina, just a little bit sunnier eheh... i don't know how you do it! but you nailed it! i'm in awe 🥺
Love your videos!! Thank you! I make my son watch them. Lol. I keep telling him to take a trip to Italy and find you. You are such a beautiful person, inside and out.
Evening Marina, well what a nice treat after a day's work to sit and relax watching and listening to some wonderful wildlife, beautiful prints and someone else doing the DIY!! So quiet and peaceful where you are...even with Zukka!! Have a wonderful summertime there. Health@Happiness to you both.
This is another great video. I love to see your progress and how your land is improving week by week, season by season. When time comes to replace the wood chips, try putting down old cardboard, then the chips on top. The cardboard acts as an extra weed layer and breaks down in time, so it's quite organic. All good wishes from the Lake District. Peter
In the USA WE HAVE A PRODUCT CALLED MOIST BE GONE! It comes in a plastic tub and you can put it in the bathroom and ot absorbs the moisture you can replace it once a month! Maybe something like that would help! Do you have an exhaust fan? If you have a window maybe you could put an exhaust fan there!
I also live in an old house and have similar problem with flacky paint and mold from rising damp. My job for this week is filling holes and applying sealant and antifungal paint to the kitchen wall.
As others have said, you've not got enough ventilation in the bathroom. If you can't fit a fan, it might be worth getting a dehumidifier. You don't want to be breathing the mould spores, they're very bad for your health
Wild strawberries or Alpine strawberries are my absolute favourite! They're like sherbert when perfectly ripe, unfortunately they'll be a few more weeks yet where I live in Scotland but, I can't wait.
I love all the cool butterflies and bug you are finding to film! So pretty! I saw someone make beaded bugs as way hangings and they really reminded me of some of the bugs you filmed today! 🦋🐛🪲🐝🐞I've had that cyanotyping on my crafty - to - do list for years! I really must try it!😃Love that you found a patch of wild strawberries! They are always better wild! 🍓🍓🍓 Hope you have a wonderful week!🌞
I agree! At the start of the video, that red and blue butterfly was very unusual! I had to rewind it and pause it, to get a good look. Have NEVER seen one like that!
@@dragonfly9209 Me, too! I had to Google what it was. It's a Six-Spot Moth. I totally thought it was a butterfly! In all the pictures I saw the moth was also on a purple flower. So pretty! I think there's a little spider on the flower with the moth! 🥰 Nature! 💞
Hi Marina love watching your projects, l can see im not the only one, Zukka is a gorgeous boy who clearly loves you, what a lovely life he is having. My goodness what a lot of birdsong, how beautiful. Lots of love Alioban xx
I don't really think it's moisture from the ground that makes your bathroom walls get wet but cold from the ground, or heat getting lost to the ground rather. Moisture from the showers etc. then condensates on the cold wall and can't evaporate. That window looks pretty tiny for quick air exchange as well. In short, that room is pretty much everything a bathroom should not be: Cold and poorly vented. I guess you should consider a drastic solution for the problem, like attaching a "Bath house" to the house if you can't make room for a bath anywhere else further upstairs. A nicely heat insulated room with plenty of ventilation options. It'll pay for itself through the videos you will make of its construction. One 😍 for you and one 😍 for Zukka! 🤗
I guess Zucca just wanted his teeth scraped. The prints were interesting in how you made them. Good that your expanding your jewelry line. Content and recording plus editing is always outstanding Marina.
Cool cyanotype prints Ummarell!😂I didn't know that was a thing. It wouldn't happen here in the UK as people are treated equally and it would be considered rude. They'd probably be allowed one suggestion, out of politeness, then they'd confronted and or ridiculed.
A bit of nostalgia from my early childhood with the song "Hoist up the John b sails" that the Brothers 4 sang in the early 60's folk song era. Love it!😊 Another wonderful post Marina! Love your interactions with Zucca and the bird and crickets songs at the end! Thanks👍
I have the same damp problems with my stone home - apparently part of the problem is the modern acrylic products that don't allow the water to pass into the air: I've been told that it is best to use calce viva (quick lime) that will allow moisture to escape. I hope that helps...
You're right! I do have that all ready and would love to use it but my thinking was that I would first need to remove the acrilic layers before applying lime and I didn't have patience for that. It will definitely need to be done though 🤗
I really like all your videos, having recently found your channel, I especially liked, the only way is down (purely because I am a biker, for nearly 30 years and have the big brother of Jane, she is a white CBF1000) the way you passed your test, and did that incredible journey, is the way everyone should learn. to be honest, some of those roads would have scared the crap out of me! Lovely to see someone complete projects - you may have inspired me to finish recycling pallet timber into bookshelves - I 've already made a sofa and need to finish! BTW - would a small dehumidifier be useful for your house? I know little ones are available.
Hi! Oh I tried diying with pallets but they are such a pain to disassemble them! Well done with your upcycling project. I don't think a dehumidifier would make a lot of difference cause it's moisture coming from the outside into the walls. But I can definitely give it a go!
