- Welcome friends, today we are back for a new series!
We are playing the Dark Signal modpack, a complete sound overhaul + a whole host of the best addons available for Anomaly.
We are running an Invictus playthrough of this modpack, where we attempt to beat the entirety of the game on the hardest difficulties & Ironman mode.
This will prove to be one of the most stressful playthroughs we have done yet.

It amazes me how many playtroughs I have planned for myself and how many hours of entertainment is that gonna give me
Invictus is basically just slow walking everywhere, if you even HEAR the sound of an anomaly.... turn around and go into the opposite direction and do a 180 scan of the area before moving on.
Never sprint anywhere.
Never go anywhere without a full mag.
Never trust anyone.
Not even yourself.

Never forget that some anomalies arent 100% static. Like flame + electro and some gravitational too!
when I first started playing Anomaly, I must have died a few thousand death's from anomaly's because i was used to sprinting on the other STALKER games..But after a few months of playing I got used to stopping in time when i hear the sound and also see the slight shimmer in the air.. still gets me sometimes though.
i started playing invictus with campfire and agony mode. first 24 hr was agony
@@3NC3PH4L0N I didn't realize that until I was trying to show my brother how dangerous this game was, talked up the anomalies then couldn't find one I thought was stationary.

Do apologize for the brightness in this one guys.
We were on the dark storm weather preset, and I can't boost it in post too much, otherwise it just ruins the footage.
I am keeping a closer eye on in-game brightness in the future videos.
(I also am not save-scumming at all in the next videos, for those who are concerned about that as well. We walked the Miracle Machine without getting touched once)
Brightness and light level is a never ending battle for me, especially with Stalker, but the video was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Decided to start a series as well, thanks for the inspiration, the Stalker community is truly a wonderful one!
Dark Signal is so good! The new gun sounds make me use guns I've never tried before. Great experience for making Anomaly feel fresh again.

Yes this modpack has quickly become one of my favorites
this is exactly how I play stalker, not that hard difficulty but the reload at 11:12 is exactly what I do a lot

I love seeing people's different experience's with this game. Seems like everyone tweeks the game with mods in such a way that I think no game is the same as someone else's. I myself am running like 20 mods and its so different than vanilla I sometimes forget what i'm playing. So sad its only singleplayer. Would love to take my friends to the Zone sometime.
Yea and imagine how many private mods are out there.
I personally made a mod so that Story mode and Warefare play well together as well as changing the statistics back to the ShoC style, fixing the stealth and even made a patch for AlifeWarefare Overhaul.

I remember being younger and wanting stalker so bad I got the demo where you cant really leave Cordon and the only npcs were zombies, played it almost everyday until I scraped up enough money to get the series, loved it and the book. I even got a couple potential stalke- i mean friends hip(lol) to the series after they seen me play modded anomaly.

This is my favorite mod pack. I even like it better than EFP and Gamma. I like vanilla anomaly and this is like vanilla+

How the heck do I install this thing? I followed the readme but I just crash when starting a new game. -.-
I'm having the same problem. Maybe it has to do with the version of Anomaly. I tried it on 1.5.1.2 and it crashed everytime. I did see that Wavey was running it on 1.5.1, so I might have to redownload that version to check if it resolves it.
They really should release a MO2 version.

Wish it included Groks Better Audio, vanilla anomaly has a bug with OpenAL sounding wierd
After I'm done with Gamma 0.9.1, this will definitely be installed. It seems like it has all the QoL and models that I enjoy, great sounds, etc - but more true to vanilla Anomaly. It'll be nice to toss it on the hardest settings and just have at the game. I haven't actually played through the quests since I first played Anomaly, mainly because GAMMA and EFP have kept me so immersed in different aspects of the Zone. Can't wait to finally give this a go.
I like it, much closer to my favourite's like Dead Air and Misery. What mods came under QOL for you?
A lot of it. Lots of animations for the weapons, all the new sounds (huge improvement IMO)
Lots of new textures, curated ReShade. And so much more.

The tops of those hills in garbage are nuts man, some areas up there will just instantly spike you to 5000 msv and you're just screwed lol
That hill is a NO for me, as soon as I saw him going up that hill I thought the game was over.
I know it's an older video but going from gamma to this just feels so pure. I'm playing the games without all those bells and whistles it's just made nicer. Also your comment on fast travel "I really don't care so long as I beat it" Made me laugh.
Getting an SKS and the kit to 7.62x54 it is so funny, that’s literally what I get every playthrough before everything else

As someone who recently started playing anomaly, after watching this video I have realized that I will NOT go into agroprom underground without an automatic shotgun. And an exosuit
Agroprom Underground isn't necessarily that bad, you mainly need to be able to rush through so use Hercules.
Also definitely get a double barrel instead of a pump action, getting two shots practically instantly really helps.

While wearing a nosorog exosuit with run upgrades, a fully kitted AEK-971, and a semi auto MP-153 with 100 buckshot shells.
tbh i think it would much more fun to go in there earlier, now i kinda regret doing every quest and looting every corner of the first 4 locations.
But hey! first playthrough!
Its ok tbh, did Agroprom Underground on Stalker Gamma with a USP pistol and the sunrise armor on first try
Only thing that really sucked is that bandit blasting me with his sawn off right on level entry, had to abuse the staircase to dish out headshots and heal up

Invictus, agony, timer mode, realistic ai-aim, and all visual effects enabled is the most dread inducing game I have ever played
What is “realistic ai-aim” ? I never tried but Invictus but the ai in always hit me with a shotgun from miles away. They also always know my location.
@@Inasaint it's a setting in anomaly that makes ai way more accurate at both shorter & longer ranges with from what I've seen both stationary bursts and semi shots while moving, it really makes you feel like just another number in the zone instead of Mr.AssKicker9000 as enemies are far more difficult to outmaneuver just by running, which can make ambushes with explosives or selective VIP assassinations with snipers more enticing than just murdering slews of men without any real reprisal

Lockpick kit is probably lower priced. when its in the traders inv like that game asumes it has 100% durability even tho it has 20%

Did the Modpack use a Reshade Preset?
Hey, love the game. Been tempted to give this standalone a go since it's basically escape from tarkov but solo, which is what I really want. Where can I download the game and any recommendations for someone who's never played stalker before for an easier time in the game?
So Anomaly itself is available on moddb. You can do a little google search for "stalker anomaly" and it should pop right up.
As for the modpack we play here, that's available via the link in the description.
If it truly is your first time, this may be a bit daunting. Anomaly is complex, and doesn't hold your hand at all. They sort-of expect you to have played the original games before.
Play on the easier difficulties, or the medium ones. The hard ones are just pain. ESPECIALLY survivalist progression.
Medkits for healing, bandages for bleeding, vodka for radiation. Until you learn more about the available medical supplies.
Shotguns will be the best way to keep yourself alive in the early game. Ammo is cheap.
Or a AKS-74u, 5.45 is also cheap.
And the last bit is study your PDA. The PDA has a Guide section that has TONS of information.
It'll also update with new info as you go along.

So i accidentally wiped my ANOMALY install that I meticulously worked on for Mod compatibility.... and now I am itching to get back in the zone. I have played ANOMALY probably 10 times through already. Would you recommend Dark Signal or GAMMA to jump back in? I do prefer harder, slower gameplay but not AREA-level masochism
Well Dark Signal is much closer to Vanilla than anything else. It's mostly an aesthetic overhaul (sound, visual, QoL).
GAMMA is a scavenger/survivalist style modpack. It makes heavy use of crafting/repair, since traders don't sell weapons & armor. Uses timed/cost fast travel, and campfire saves all be default.
I’m tempted to try this mod out, glad that HD models are used too it looks like (for the humans).
Wavey, which version of Anomaly did you have when you installed this? "1.5.1" or "1.5.1.2"? From your main menu screen, it says "1.5.1".
I'm having constant crashes from running the Dark Signal mod with the 1.5.1.2 version. That might be it, right?

Yeah i use v151. Dark Signal was compiled with addons that were built with v151
If you have a different Anomaly version, it’s a complete roll of the dice on what addons will or will not work anymore.

Not sure what I did but when I ads with my pistol it is held close to my chest and sideways instead of out front, so I'm basically just hipfiring in a different way. Anyone know what would cause this? Happened completely randomly and I don't see a key that would obviously change the way I hold the weapon.

I think it’s the grenade launcher button. Hit that while aiming.
Some of the weapons have canted ironsights as well as alternate scopes. Sometime the pistols can get that behavior

What's the point of doing ironman with lives if you can just save/reload if things go wrong? No having a go, just don't follow the logic.
Watching this entire invictus Dark Signal playthrough made me want to try this modpack for myself. ( I normally run Anomaly + 30-40 individually picked QoL mods). I wanted to ask what preset did you use in MO2 ( Base or Overhauled for Dark Signal) ?
I think I'll run with the base profile and see how it works.
With this one, I was running a beta version of Dark Signal. It would be closer to the 'Base' preset of the new version

And of course as per Invictus I can't use Debug, so no changing weather presets lol

We ended up stopping any save scumming by episode 3, and the run got restarted on number 4

there is no point in playing ironman with reloading. fast travel destroys this game - most fun is when travelling and unexpected happens.

i've done ironman on vanilla and EFP with no gear, spawn in drop everything except the PDA and knife, can only buy medical equipment. you can only repair weapons and armor you find never buy, campfire mode, 1 live and a life every 3 days and NO SAVE RELOADS EXCEPT FOR DEATH.
yes, its hard as shit but not annoying at all; you signed up for it lmao which is the point, its unforgiving...play slow, smart, and quiet. its so immersive that my firefights are few to almost none due to fear of death. this isn't ironman bro. you failed the challenge the second you abused the save system; TO PREVENT DEATH.

Chimera attacks, Monolith soldiers with KS-23s or Gauss Rifles, anybody with a RPG or LMG, enemy sneaking up on you from behind, snork swarms, one wrong step in an anomaly field without full health, or those random anomalies behind a blind corner.
That's all the kinds of threats that can end your life instantly or in less than a second.

this is actually good question, do anybody know it 100% sure u can have more than 1 life to complete invictus achievement? If yes im mad on myself soooo much, died to fucking mines during main mission at generators (survived up to there with just one life, without dying :D )
Indeed you can. The achievement says die no more than 2 times, so technically you can in fact die once and continue playing.
I put in a script meant to alert you if something goes wrong and invalidates the invictus achievement. It did not alert me after the first death i had

Now imagine with the NPC loot claim mod with doesn't allow you to loot bodies that aren't your kill, this would be even worse.

You really just just have to try all of them out, honestly, there are a bunch of little things in all of them that you will love or hate.
I wasn't crazy about EFP after a few hours, felt a bit unforgiving, especially starting as Clear Sky in the Swamps. I enjoy the QoL changes GAMMA makes, and enjoy the overall gameplay loop, though there are still a few things that drive me crazy.
Definitely gonna give this modpack a try later tonight.
I recommend doing all. Efp is the easiest of all in my opinion
Already played efp a lot , but didnt know this modpack
They’re all a little different.
EFP is more focused on making things even more sim-related, like Tarkov.
GAMMA is more survivalist, scavenging oriented.
And this one is a more standard style of gameplay, just a complete top to bottom overhaul of the QoL

Gamma is more fucking easier FOR I CAN FIX MY LIMBS. The only problem of Gamma is Gunplay. Super close buckshot don't do shit where EFP does.

question, do we need to install the "additional addons' manually or are they in the gamedata.rar? It's a little confusing as the readme doesn't mention it. Why have them separate at all?
The additional addons are not included, they’re offered alongside it if you want to put it into the game yourself

Not at the moment. It's a little tricky since it was designed with all the animations and gun addons.
But maybe one day, who knows

Well JSRS is only guns. This modpack does everything.
Although I don't know if Shrike (the author) has any plans to export the sounds themselves as a standalone mod.

Anomaly is a free-roam RPG based on the original STALKER titles. They're post-apocalyptic, horror, atmospheric, FPS - RPGs.
Think of Metro & Fallout getting together.
So no, the whole game isn't just running around shooting people. That's obviously a large part of it, but there's a point to it, some cohesion, and the game gives you free choice to decide how to do things.
Your faction choice influences a lot of what you do, and there's multiple game-modes for you to play.
Lots of replay value, and this modpack we play here is only one of many.
@@WaveysGamingAdventure I'm playing Anomaly, I just said this challenge is about abusing quick load which is the same as HC logout macro. You make a mistake, die and start over, that's what HC/ironman means. I didnt mean to dislike your video, I just dislike Hardcore abuse mechanics like quickload or logout macro in other games.

You're not exactly wrong, but I will say I am going to do my best to avoid having to use quickloads everywhere.
I will most certainty abuse other Anomaly features. Unfortunately I only have so much integrity.

@@WaveysGamingAdventure if it's not to much of a hassle can you make a short video, I dont know if I'm stupid or my laptop hates me cause right after I tried the first time my laptop deleted the war thunder launcher and I had to reinstall the game, and I did try with 7zip and I got part of the mod to install but I'm still missing the main menu and the ak74 is fucked

My man it's too dark... I literally maxed my screen's brightness (mobile phone) still can't see shit 😭😭 maybe increase the brightness?? BTW: garbage's market has cheapest shotguns
I pushed the brightness up 30% in post, any more and it looked really washed out.
The issue was we were in the dark storm weather all day. Once it cleared up, things got way more visible

Savescumming literally defeats the whole point of Ironman/Invictus runs.
I’m trying my best but I’m not perfect. Anomaly is hard, and survivalist difficulty is pain.
