Certainly the saddest love song ever written.
As a french guy, I know very well the book and also the french concept album of 1980 which was at the beginning of Les Miz worldwide success. I love the musical too, especially the 10th anniversary one.
I do love Lea Salonga’s version of this song which is imo the best of the best.

I couldn't agree with you more, I've been in love with the musical and story and was blown away by this cover. I don't believe her voice sounds like Lea Salonga as much as Kaho Shimada from The Complete Symphonic Recording who's voice was so much softer and gentler in my opinion

Words have power Pepita. For years I walked away from God. Only to realize he never left me in my journey. He was always by my side. I experienced this so powerfully one night in my home town. I had just been saved, and I went to this bar with my parents. I was really really sick at the time. I used to be a wine representative. But I even gave that up. While standing at the bar that night. My mom had just come up from the basement of the club. So I was next to dad talking to him. God had changed my relationship with my dad, so much. So I move over in my chair to another bar stool to let my mom sit next to my dad. All of a sudden I could feel this strong presense of love in the room. I knew then, I should not have been in there. I did not feel a condeming spirit, but of pure love. I turned to my mom and said, mom I have to go. She looked at me and said, " Is everything okay ? " I said, " No " She said What is wrong ?" I said, " You will never guess who is here right now ! " She said, " What would he be doing here now ? " I said, " I am not supposed to be here ! " She knew who i was talking about. I said, " I am going home now " She asked me if I wanted a cab. I said, " No, I can walk home ! " It was only a few blocks away. So I ran home, and into my bedroom. Went to my knees and began to pray to him.
Telling him I was sorry for going there. I could feel his warm presense there alone in my bedroom. There was no condemnation. Coming from him. His presense was so strong, and his love just eminated from him. I began to weep for a long time. I had never felt, such a love in all my life ! This was such pure love coming to me. The room was filled with his love and glory. I then crawled up into my bed, and had the best sleep I have ever had in my entire life. I was in my 30"s when this happened. I have never looked back. I love him so much. It is why I joyfully serve him today. I always pray others would come in with the same experience. I have never been the same since my conversion. When I began to trust him again with my entire life.
This is often overlooked in our daily lives. We take his love and presense for granted. In 1994 I gave it all over to him. Realizing more and more each day, my need of him more daily. I have never seen so much love, and miracles from him, in all my life. Like I do today. I have not only seen the face of Jesus in my home. I get visitations, that I believe are angels. On one occasion I felt what seemed like a fingernail dig into my skin, like someone who had not cut their fingernails. They were nudging me to wake up. I am not sure who it was at the time. I am not sure whether it is Jesus or an angel, because I did not see them physically. The individual came there to wake me up. I have learned in my life. God will always send people across our paths to help us in our walk of life. Most times we simply do not believe, or we just do not want to hear from them. I walked that same road for years, until he finally came into my life so powerfully in 1994.
I will leave the video of the face I saw that night in my home for your viewers to enjoy. Jesus loves us so much he gave his best for you and me. You are a very beautiful person, Pepita. I am not just saying this to butter you up. I am saying this from my heart. The same one Jesus changed in 1994. God has created you that way. Never allow anyone to tell you any differently. I am not sure where you stand with him in life. I encourage you to put your complete faith in him. Because he certainly believes in you. You have a very beautiful life. You look so much like a young lady I used to minister to, in my home province, and she was a very beautiful person in life. I see the same in you ! I will begin to pray for you, that you see how powerful words can mold an individual in life. Jesus called your words, seeds. It is what puts hope into others, when they encourage and build others up. God really wants to see you living a real joyful life. Why ? Because he loves you so much !!
When Jesus was speaking to the Samaritan woman at the well. He wanted her to have the fullness of his love inside of her. He wanted her to be filled with nothing but love and joy. He gave her an example of this when he reminded her the water she was about to pull from the well, would only make her thirst again. But if she had, " the Rivers of Living Water " that flowed inside of him. She would never thirst again. This would completely satisfy her in life. She also thought that her saviour was coming. He looked at her and reminded her, " I am he " She then after being filled, ran back to her community, and told everyone about his great love for her, and the impact he just had on her life. This was the loving saviour she was waiting on, sitting right in front of her, filled with nothing but complete, and satisfying love for her. I hope today will be your best day ever, Pepita ! Why ? Because Jesus wants you to have that day, everyday ! His love goes very deep for you !! It was why he said in his word, " You are fearfully and wonderfully made !! " He promises you, that he will never leave or forsake you !! Jesus has never ever broken any promise !! God Bless you Pepita !!!
