Great to see you doing videos again John! Spoke to Greg the other day, he mentioned that Randy Bimrose, former senior Gunsmith with Beeman Precision Airguns passed away in November. I worked with Randy when I was with Beeman in the late 90s and would see him after that at various trade shows, etc. RIP Randy.

Awesome rifle and great video. I've had mine for a couple of years and i still love it! I got the Donnyfl adapter and a Buckrail suppressor to make it backyard friendly. Im not buying the Avenge X as these are fine the way they are! Have a great weekend.😊

figured your issue out,and i shoulda seen it at first, alright , if
you cleaned your barrel first, then it is the weight of the lead you are sending,
i can hear the crack when you shoot it, so yes the vented monocore baffles are a must, two of them better than one with a bit of felt between them, drill the first ou to half inch and just slide it on the barrel. the second just goes in place of the stock baffle.
so lea, try heavier lead to slow the velocity below 900fps and your sound should be alot lower, mine with the double baffle stack is around 65db.
also the hammer spring, turn it slow and shoow at every eighth of an inch , there will be a place the spring starts where the point it starts hits the adjuster , find thst because at that point on evey turn your avenger will gt more calm.
anywaythe avenger is awesome, i just gave my bullpup away and am getting a custon squatch green rifle one in .25cal.
    have a blessed year friend

I got mine from pyramid air and paid to have them tune it. It's a laser at 50 yards. Once zeroed, I literally cut out the bullseye at the range.

so i think maybe you got a crummy avenger, my .25cal bullpup was awesome for the year and a half i had it, just gifted it to a perosn who does not have and cannot afford an sir rifle. along with a hand pump.
my avenger would shoot any lead under 39 gr out of the mag and splendidly accurate sub moa.
it would also consistently get 58fpe on a tune of 2685psi reg and 53/4ths turns out on the hammerspring. but it was barky, so i bought two of the monocore vented baffles, drilled ont out to a bit under a half inch and slid it onto the barrel upto the spacer. then a ring of thick felt on the barrel just poked a hole and slid it on , then the second monocore baffles on the end of the barrel , both centering themselves with the o-rings that come on them
and now the air rifle is quite back yard friendly , in fact it cannot be hears at 50 ft distance.
an right now they are on sale for$329 at pyramidair.
but i believe i will get the rifle version this time around and a refurb at $249 at pyramidair.
    so about your video.
i know you were honest as you saw it. but you did not tune the gun, you half degassed and you are not supposed to close that valve till the pressure is all out of the gun.
so would not be suprized if you had a valve leak and energy drop from that.
did you clean your darrel when you got the rifle?
this will make it more accurate cause they come with shipping gunk in the barrel to keep it from rusting as it travels over the ocean.
baristol and a patch worm work good.
oh using the monocore baffles does not make your rifle any longer as the buckrail does. just saying.
    this is
    the last word

So he should just accept the fact he got ripped off for $350.00 ?
All 3 of my Avengers were trash !
Thats where they all went , in the trash! Nobody would even give me $10.00 for all 3!!!

@@ChumMing2 nah i love my avenger and the one i hd before it.
wish you would have asked me, cause as long as they could shoot i would have bought all three , for at least a hundred and paid for the shipping but since you tossed them in the trash. oh well. see i like the parts and would put them back in case i needed them. especially bullpup parts. you take it out of that bullpup stock and get a buckrail chassi and it is so effin awesome. and the trigger linkage for the bullpups comes right off and it becomes a rifle version with a pick rail and looks tactical. you cannot even do that with an avenge x
then get the avenge x hammer spring kit and the 210cc tank for the avenge x and you basically have an avenge x tactical with a bullpup rail on it.
but i just bought a custom squatch green avenger .25cal and that custom endcap withthe ported tube, that thing is whack, it took me a whole bunch of doing to make it quiet as my bullpup was with theregular end cap and monocore baffles.
i think te only thing about the avenger that is not great is you have to shoot it before shooting it to get the plenum working and take that first shot out of the equation for the creep. course buy the steel regulater for the avenge x and that gets fixed.
now currently i just spent $999 on an aea challenger pro .35cal lb gen 2 and it has an external reg and hammerspring like the avenger but way more robust, and a folding stock and 350cc tank.
i am waiting on it to get here now.
really sorry you did not like the avenger though.
i live in texas and the weather is hot most of the time, and if you live in a place that is rainy and the temp fluctuates alot that just might be a issue with the avenger, but not the avengers problem it would be the same no matter what airgun you used.

It's all trash in the garbage now. All 3 of my Avengers were trash , never held air , just junk. You cannot change the experience I had with them. Never again. I have pcp's that are 12 years old , and never leaked 1 pound of air til this day. So Air Venturi does not even exist in my universe anymore.
Enjoy yours , i hated mine.

Lovely video and an interesting find on the eye-scope relation. Was it the parallax coming into pay with the reticle dancing or was it something else?

    • @NorthWestAirgun
      @NorthWestAirgun  8 месяцев назад +1

Dancing reticle is an interesting description! Well, it was almost like having the scope canted, only in this case it was my head. I had to tilt my head to get a good sight picture, and I think it was just uncomfortable and hard to get a full view through the scope. Were this my only rifle, or most favored, I could adjust to it. But instead, this is the only one that requires laying my head a bit sideways, and I figured going back and forth with more conventional rifles could be a problem. I suspect the non-bullpup versions of the Avenger might be more suitable for my shooting.

John I purchased a1968 Blue Streak in ~1968. It is my most treasured ag. To make a long story short..a question.Which way does the standard(not custom made teflon) ck valve go into the compression chamber. All attempts made for naught.Thank you

If you're talking about the brass retainer type, the black synthetic to the front, brass to the rear..

    • @AIRGUNZ_MILITIA
      @AIRGUNZ_MILITIA 2 месяца назад

if you talking about that big pill with the tit on it , the tit goes twards the back ao that when you pump the arm pushes the pill and the tit gets pushed in at the back and the leather keeps the pressure in that area and the rear cap is supposed to have an o-ring on it to keep pressure at the back end, and that is how that crossman /benji works. maybe oil the leather with crossman pellgun oil till it is supple again, or get a replacement.
sure wish i had one of those, they do not have the ten pump limit the ones today have.

The 3 Avengers I bought 4 years ago , leak like a bucket without a bottom!!!
Every year they need to be resealed ! What kind of garbage "O" rings are they selling us anyway???
I for one will never buy an Air Venturi product again.
Heck, I can't even give them away , so I threw them away.
