take it from someone who lives somewhere with many big cats, if you turn around or bend over they will attack you. You have to stare back, and spread out your arms and legs to make yourself look bigger and be aggressive, shouting, etc. if you're lucky enough to have a rock you could throw it, but don't bend down to pick one up. if all else fails try and back away slowly while keeping eye contact, and if it attacks you go for the eyes and nose where it's sensitive. It will try to get on your back and bite through your neck, protect the back of your neck if it gets on top of you. They are the only animals in the wild I really fear, most bears will leave you alone if they are aware of you ahead of time, but big cats are vicious.
If one gets on your back, wouldn't it make sense to fall backwards and bodyslam them shits? They are still cats and felines aren't exactly durable, especially when comparing them to bears, moose and all that.
I saw a group of people going through the jungle and the tactic they used for not being jumped by the giant jungle cats was they used mask on the back of their heads, low tech genius that actually worked oddly
@@videontekuro9399 mountain lions have more than a bite to the back of the neck to worry about. if on the ground, it can and would use its back legs to gut you. slamming them onto the ground with your body weight wouldn't do much to dissuade a mountain lion. plus, yes, they are very durable.
You're supposed to make yourself look as big as possible and be as loud as possible. The intention is to intimidate it, I believe. Yeah turning your back and running is like telling it "yeah, I am prey" like the guy did in part of the video.
8:40 the thing is the Japanese government is only fighting the symptoms and sadly not the causes of it, which is in huge parts the extremely competitive and toxic work and school environment.
Dont ever turn your back on a mountain lion. When there is a mountain lion you need to make yourself look big and make is clear that you know it is there by making alot of loud noise while slowly backing away but be sure not to act scared and try to remain calm
born too early to explore the stars, born too late to explore new lands... but born perfectly to watch scary clips which fascinate me, but am too scared to watch them alone, so Miya is there to keep me safe at all times ❤. thank you for your guarding 🦈
20:45 The fact the police apparently can't test stuff like that unless there's "evidence of a crime or victim" is absolutely wild to me. How do you know there *isn't* a victim unless you at *least* test the clothes to see if those stains are blood? Imagine finding cut up clothing with what appear to be bloodstains on them in the woods and the police just go "yeah, that doesn't look like a crime scene to me." Yet again another case of the police having the attitude of "no reported crime, no dead body found, not my problem."
"if I saw a mountain lion I'd turn around and be out of there" and that is why they are around to post footage and you aren't going to be after the fact, stalking animals like big cats LOVE it when you turn your back on them
Standing ground is how you scare them. If you show that you’re scared of them, they know they have the better chance of surviving the fight. Standing ground, staying calm, and making yourself larger and louder makes them think they might lose the fight and choose to flee for survival. But that’s only under normal circumstances, a desperate animal will ignore all these signs.
the name of the forest is Aokigahara not (sui*ide forest) it's also know as The sea of trees, the forest got the nickname sui*ide forest because it's a very dense forest which made it easy for people who suffered from mental illness or depression to go there and just... well, I guess you know!
Big cats are really scary when you come across them in the wild. Im South-African so we got lions , leapords etc. to worry about when we want to go hunting or visiting a game reserves and so on. I remember one day how much we panicked when some lions escaped an area where they were kept to stay away from the geust lodging on a game reserve I worked at. Some of them go inside of the kitchen of one of the smaller camps i was on duty at. As an bonus to the "scaryness" factor you dont realise how big those animals actually are until they are right infront of you.
14:48 It's wild that some crazy people bobby trap forests just to solve their issue with "noisy riders". But let me tell yall something, here in Brasil, many bikers were decapitated due to kids/teenagers kite lines with something called "Cerol", which is glue with milled glass that some kids use on their kite lines to cut other kites, they even do kite battles, but fortunately, they criminalized it. Still, I don't think that mitigated the problem since there are recent cases about it... And there are also some videos of bikers dashcams where they got caught by a line just like the video we saw, and he got furious and concerned at the kids. I don't recommend searching for it but you can use these keywords on RUclips "motoqueiro linha de pipa"
Plus a lot of the Booby traps aren't actually on private property, but on public land where biking is allowed. Sometimes nearby landowners in forested or overgrown areas will put up private property signs or fences "illegally" on adjacent public land to illegally "expand" their property size. And more often than not they get away with this because the process to get the paperwork to prove them wrong can be quite difficult, or the "landowner" keeps any whistleblowers in line with threats.
Never fully understood that police mentality: "Until the clothing is connected to a person or crime we cannot test them." But... testing them could connect them to a person or crime....
As a person who was hit by a dirt bike while walking a trail in the thick woods up north.....I don't care. My lower leg was broken and the dude and his friends sped off without a word or offer of aid. It took me hours to find help who then in turn got a hold of the park rangers. I spent over 6hours with a self made splint before getting proper care at a clinic. Not saying the trap was 'moral' but I can understand that level of pettiness if someone else was made to suffer in a similar way to myself. Not all foul deeds arise from nowhere without a true motive.
I know it may seem smart to runaway from a mountain lion if you see it but first make sure the lion doesnt already have your attention because if it does and you run the lion might think "mmm prey" and chase you.
Those ATV riders and dirtbikers destroy the woods and completely ruin any reason anyone had to go into the woods. Those bikes are insanely loud and obnoxious and you can hear them for miles, and they fill the forest with disgusting smog. You have to constantly be aware of where they are because they will run you right over if you're on the same trail. They also tear up the terrain and turn the healthy soil into dead sand. And if you say anything you are of course just a Karen or whatever. I can totally see someone doing that if they had to deal with it long enough.

@videontekuro9399 I'm lucky enough to have never gotten that physical with one. I would be interested in what an expert would have to say about it.

@@IvanGarcia-xy7bfbut recently tigers have caught onto the masks being masks so now are attacking people facing them.

15:45 that is the worst possible thing to do Miya. you don't turn your back on the animal stalking you.
I was about to say the same exact thing. Never turn your back to a big cat.

Why is the mountain line so cute bro? Does anyone drink this? It’s so cute!🥰
Standing around menacingly. Ya know, as a hobby. As one does
15:51 To be fair, I'll also chase Miya when she turns her back to me in a forest
11:47 as you should moose are even more dangerous than bears.
Getting Rick rolled in the beginning of the video....nice 😂
