I am sure you guys have heard this a million times, but I just want to reaffirm you guys are doing God’s work with your wonderful podcast. You have greatly deepened and broadened our study and understanding and application of the scriptures. Your good work is blessing and changing lives for the better. We can’t thank you enough for your efforts. Bless you and your Families. We hope your Follow Him podcast continues until He comes again! 👍😊
I took seminary in 1974-1975. It was a Book of Mormon class. I didn’t even read the Book of Mormon. I am so thankful that we are now immersing ourselves in this amazing book. I substitute for time release seminary in the Ogden area. One of my students pointed out that isn’t it interesting that we study the Book of Mormon during election years.
When Christ comes and asks if there are any lame, sick...when He asks for the deaf, I cry. I have three hearing impaired grandchildren. I am so thankful for all those who were healed in the scriptures. This podcast was uplifting.
I like all your guests, but Dr. Eric Huntsman leaves me with a profound need to study the scriptures diligently. He gives me an insatiable desire to stick my nose in the scriptures and stay there!
Thank you for such a strengthening time of learning more about the Savior and our relationship with Him. I am grateful you had Bro. Huntsman join you to help teach us. Excellent!
WOW!! What an experience we've had!! We love the teachings of Dr. Eric Huntsman. Have been listening to him since he was a young lad, on BYUtv, as he taught with other professors the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you for an unforgettable sacred experience!!
Thank you for this episode. The spirit was strong…I could touch it. You spoke truth! Is it accurate??? Yes! Yes, it is accurate. FYI I have watched every episode, both parts, for almost three years. Since the Old Testament year. I sit at the counter in the kitchen with scriptures, notebook and writing utensils and devour every word. It is class. Thank you for your efforts and sacrifices in bringing this to us. I don’t know if you will read this, but I just wanted to say it has had profound effects on my life and relationships with my Father in Heaven, my Savior Jesus Christ and my friend and constant companion (when I’m worthy 😊) the Holy Ghost. Love to you all!!!
I hope that you can feel that His light is with us now and is getting stronger and stronger until that amazing day when we really see Him. He loves you as much now as He will then💙🕊️💙
Appreciate the reminder that we can celebrate coming to Jesus Christ and feel His love and healing now, we don't have to wait until the 2nd coming, nor only look at Him visiting the Americas in the past.
Thank you for having Brother Huntsman this week. His humility, knowlege, humor, and obvious love for the Savior have taught me so much. And Hank and John, it's always a pleasure to be with you. ❤️❤️
I am one of your followers who listens to both sections every time. I've never been disappointed and I can still say that. This has been quite an emotional experience and I've learned so much more than I ever thought I didn't know. Thank you so much for all your insight, testimonies, and examples.
My wife and I learned much as we listened to both parts of this week's study with Dr. Huntsman. We appreciate his insights and ability to relate the Book of Mormon account of Jeus' visit to the children of Lehi with the New Testament accounts of the Savior. Jesus truly is the Light and the Life of the world, the Eternal God.
Thank you Dr. Huntsman! Particularly for your wrapup statements that puts so well into words what I have felt so strongly for so long, that anywhere that we state or use the name Jesus Christ, particularly at the end of prayers and in ordinances, should be a reverent moment and not something to be rushed through. Our entire purpose of living the gospel of Jesus Christ is to draw closer to and become like him. To become a light to those around us. Not to lead others to us and think we are all that great and wonderful but to lead them to ask why are they happy, how can they get through the pain and suffering and tragedy of life and still believe in Jesus Christ, and that’s hopefully drying them unto him. We love you and your family! ❤
Thank you - John, Hank and Brother Eric -- This was a fabulous episode!! I think 3 Nephi is the very heart of what the Book of Mormon is. And, yes, I have my own imaginations about what it will be like when the Second Coming happens, all based on the events in 3 Nephi. I think we are so very fortunate to have this as part of our religion and our culture, and it's for everyone and it's all true. What a deal!!
Thank you for this marvelous fireside. Working in the Baptistry at the Temple is my favorite place. Special spirit with all the youth. I love being able to be a Temple worker. ❤❤
This particular episode felt to complete, clear and inspiring about the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesuschrist, so, thanks so much to everyone involved in this production!!
so many good points! If we want to be like Jesus, we need to be prepared to suffer as He did. "We're supposed to mourn with those who mourn, not give them platitudes." Genius. Thank you!
Bless and thank you more than words can say. I sing your praises to all that I know to please listen to your podcast. Both of you bring such powerful testimony and witness to whatever area of scripture we are studying "together" along with the the knowledge of your wonderful guests. I feel badly that I do always remember to do a "thumbs up". Also a special "shout out" and blessings to the wonderful helpers that work behind the scenes to assist in the production of this gift to all who listen. God bless you all!
Thank you Dr Huntsman for your perspective and comments at the beginning of part 2 ; “. . . If we prematurely try to give gospel context and perspective, that almost hurts” . . . I wish everyone could know this, and just do things to help the sufferers with the mundane things that need to be done, but they just don’t feel like doing right then. That would help to heal the wounded heart.
I always understood the phrase "Opened their ears" to express focusing more intently and concentrating on something, just like I have done in the past when I struggled to understand what I was hearing something. I even closed my eyes sometimes to give more focus for my hearing.
I love the hope at the end of verse 13 in Chapter 10 of 3 Nephi brings to me, "...neither were they overpowered by the vapor of smoke and of darkness." We may be surrounded by darkness but it doesn't have to overpower us.
Jesus asking us to put our hands in His wounds, the intimacy reminds me of my daughter showing the cesarean scar to my granddaughter born from her. It's a wound of love
If we understand the doctrine being taught in the temple, each time we attend the temple we symbolically have the opportunity to have a personal interaction with the Savior and get that witness for ourselves of his wounds.
Hello from Missouri, my name is Adrianna and I always listen to your podcast while delivering mail. Thank you for a wonderful part 1 and part 2. 3 Nephi has always been my look forward to book.
In chapter 11 Jesus invites 2500 people feel his wounds "one by one", then in chapter 17 he heals their sick "as they were brought to him." This all happened in one day after sunrise and before sunset. Jesus literally made time to minister individually for these people. He will make time for you too.
Christ’s body, his resurrected body still shows the wounds of the crucifixion. Because that is his perfected body, perfected through his redeeming atoning sacrifice. It was/is perfect, perfectly done, perfectly accomplished, perfectly completed.
Love each episode and each guest! Thank you for all of these uplifting, spiritual discussions. I have a comment about the timing of Christ's visit to the people we read about in the Book of Mormon. In 3 Nephi 8:5 we read that the destruction at the time of Christ's death happened at the beginning of the 34th year. Then in chapter 10, verses 18-19, we read that Christ showed himself to them in the end of the 34th year. To me, this sounds like the time lapse of 11 months or so. What do you think? Carolyn in Idaho
Whenever I hear “The tokens already appear,” in Redeemer of Israel, I envision the marks engraved on the palms of his hands he showed during the dedication of Kirkland temple.
3 Ne 8:5 - the destruction happens "in the thirty and fourth year, in the first month, on the fourth day of the month." 3 Ne 10:18 - "In the ending of the thirty and fourth year...he did truly manifest himself unto them." It sounds like there was nearly a YEAR between the destructions and the visitation.
When I realized how much time may have passed while the Savior was showing Himself to the people, I thought they would all need to be transliterated to be in the presence of a glorified being. If that is true, time would have no meaning or power over them during that time.
It was mentioned in this episode that Jehovah, Jesus Christ, was the god of the Old Testament. We also read in third Nephi that the people prayed to Jesus Christ. He did not rebuke them for this. My question is, can we pray to Jesus Christ now or must it always be praying to our Father in heaven?
The people prayed to Jesus because He was with them. After He left, they were to pray to the Father in the name of (or through) Jesus Christ. He is our Mediator, through whom we access our Father. I hope that helps you, Brother.

This is so touching 😢. How I was feeling before I watched this and how I am feeling now is different. There's a glimmer of hope. Light will come ✨️

Dear Brother Huntsman, THANK YOU for wearing your love of The Savior on your sleeve, for all to see. 🙏
Thank you , again for these learning hours spent with your podcast! My understanding of tears is from Elder Ashton. They are a gift of the Spirit!

My favorite Cine follow me discussion on the scriptures. Thanks guys
Just cannot feel more refreshed except in the temple. This is a amazing part of life...journeying with you.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Such a wonderful lesson! ❤🇨🇦
Beautiful!

Thank you for both parts 1 & 2. I loved it so much. ❤
Thank you so much for this lesson. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so very much!! Love everything you do in this Channel and all your guests!! Heartfelt appreciation from Canada!

Awesome Thank you so much this was a great episode
Whenever I hear “The tokens already appear,” in Redeemer of Israel, I envision the marks engraved on the palms of his hands he showed during the dedication of Kirkland temple.
Just being there is very important. Sometimes words do not help. I know from personable experience. Some asked what I did wrong. It did not help.😊
I’m so sorry for the way some people “wound the wounded”.
I also suffered from those comments. I feel a connection to you. ❤

Yes, Kent Brown has written about this and done careful analysis of the timing in an essay in From Jerusalem to Zarahemla.

WOW! 😮
temporary can mean for the rest of our natural life.
Isaiah says those wounds won't be there at some point.

I'm wondering if these are recorded months ago... because Hank looks like he just got back from a ski trip! nice strong tan line lol
He went river rafting! 😂
Is football mentioned in the Book of Mormon? Yes, The Lord Touchdowned
