I just wonder what happens if you block the celiac plexus. It stops not only the afferent pain fibres but also sympathetic and parasympathetic efference! Does that not affect the function of the dependant organs?
Thank you for your wonderful, immensely informative videos, Dr. Webster! (I must say, the production values of your videos have continually increased and are a great pleasure to watch.)
I have had two Coeliac plexus blocks and this was very helpful towards understanding exactly what was going on. I had the pamphlet explanation the doctor gives to everyone and appreciate this more in-depth explanation. I have chronic pancreatitis along with a few other abdominal issues and the blocks unfortunately weren't effective. I was ultimately put on an intrathecal pain pump, which has helped.
Very helpful video for this parent whose son is scheduled for MALS surgery in a few weeks. Included in the procedure is a dissection of the nerves there, and now I understand the anatomy so much better. While the intent is to relieve the pain caused by the compression of the celiac artery and nerves, now I’m wondering nervously what the unintended consequences may be of having those nerves cut.
Hello sir, I am a medicine student at the University of Nairobi, and am requesting a video on vascular syndromes of the brainstem. We are currently doing neuroanatomy and am stuck. Please explain this the Sam Webster way. Am addicted to watching this videos😂😂😂, literally every new topic, I just search blah blah blah-Sam Webster🤩
Thanks from Denmark 🙋🏻♀️. Having had a not-so-successfull operation because of median arcuate ligament syndrome, your video is very usefull. Also confirming that a damaged area around in solar plexus sends all sort of “fake” pain signals all over my body!!! Thanks again
Hi Sam,I am not in the medical world, but I was looking for the name of a mussel, and there you we're. I have a small mass no insurance, so I have to kinda figure it out, and now I have been learning fairly quickly because of the way God's blesed your teaching abilities, and showed me favor finding you,so I continue to (learn) watch thank yo🙏🏻
wow, that was a great update for me and very entertaining. Thank you.
I have celiac disease, why did that bowel disease get named that, is there a connection?
Learned more in this video, than a whole month of study in anatomy class, (taking notes, aggressively)
Totally agree! I wish he was my teacher when I was a bachelor medical student!
