BaeBeauty xx It is quite possible if you don't fully furnish. Another thing that makes houses in the Sims expensive is clutter, so you could include less of that.
It's not really a challenge but you could try make a perfect child sim and a super evil sim and do it for each generation (so there's an evil toddler, teenager and child and good toddler, teenager and child) (random idea) also this series is so cute!!

the block table is for toddlers. you just have to the adults build on the table and once they're finished, toddlers can play on the structure that's been built on the table. and glitter cupcakes!

You could start with a small house and just expand it as your family and budget grows
