  • To know the QST line of skis is to love the QST line of skis. And to love the new members of that line, the QST Blank and the QST 98, you must first know the history of the collection that has led to their development, and set industry standards for versatility.
The QST line of skis is a direct product of Salomon’s unique Mountain Collective development process where athletes work hand-in-hand with designers and development teams who in turn, are work in-lock-step with consumers to ensure that the final collection of skis delivers versatility, confidence and performance for all skiers.

I kind of miss the old double ellipse symbol Salomon used on the products in the late 90's.

Thanks for the in depth Salomon and athletes! I have been patrolling on Salomon's since the Shoguns and the Czar. I continued throughout the years with the QST line. The 99 my daily driver and the 106 my pow skis. I always wanted the 118 but could not justify the purchase here on the I70 corridor. However, I skied the Blank once last season and felt I would love it. I have a brand new pair of the Blank. They couldn't be prettier and I could be more excited to rip around on them! Thanks for always innovating and keeping things exciting!

What do you think about the 106 being a one ski quiver?

    • @jeffspicoli2643

@@davidhudson7400 The 106 absolutely could be the one ski quiver if you can only have one. If I could have 2... the 98 all day everyday and a 106 in my locker for the fresh stuff. That's from a ski patrollers perspective. The more snow the more time the 106 will see. I skied the QST 92 with MTN pins more than any other ski last season.

Really love the blanks. I bought an old set used for cat skiing at the start of last season. They were perfect for when the powder finally came in revelstoke this season. I may even look for a second set for touring next winter! Will there be new gear coming out next winter ?

I own 99s. Tested the Blank and loved it!
I'd get it with a pair of Shifts, but aren't they a bit too heavy for touring at over 2200g per ski?
Although they didn't feel heavy to me on the test ride after 99s, so maybe they are actually lighter?

I toured up Shasta with the blanks shifts and Shildt pro boots definitely a bit heavy

Just picked up a pair of QST98’s. Living in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley the 98’s should be an exceptional ski for all over the mountain in any snow condition.

You're killing me guys! The word you want is "damping," not "dampening." Dampening means to make something wet.
