Thanks for posting this! I've been looking for a set with the three-light wave for a long time, but most don't offer that function!!! I finally have a set like the one from my childhood :) That's an underrated setting IMO. It's such a nice, subtle twinkle. WalMart offers this same set in white lights too.
0:22 the wave looks more like plan twinkling mode I have the same brand like that and it's the chasers and because it's looks like there twinkling I use number three mixed with the standard on multi colored lights orange pink red green and blue.
Thanks for the suggestion. I agree, some of the patterns can be a little unclear with the lights bunched up. Unfortunately, I no longer have these lights as I had given them away to a friend. Someone else had also suggested a video of the lights on a tree, but I didn't have the time and the idea fell off my radar soon afterwards. Truthfully, the lights don't look all too different when they're spread out as the patterns aren't those super fancy ones that show the lights running up and down the tree like an elaborate light dance with incredible choreography. All of these patterns are basically just variations of only somewhat interconnected lights.
Bought 3 sets of the clear ones to string together.. but they only have plugs on ONE side!! How the heck am I supposed to plug them into each other AND the outlet!?!?!?!
Unfortunately, I no longer have these lights as I had given them away to a friend. There isn't much to setup though. You would just take them out of the box, hang them up or wrap them around a tree, and plug them in. That's it. The pattern can be selected by way of a push button on the little control box.
Paul Cairns Walmart! They sell them for $11 but unfortunately they shortened them by like 10ft this year! The box will look the same as this one but this year’s box says something along the line of “ as seen on display D-2 (or D-3 one of those)” on the front but you’ll see them right away in the Christmas light area.
Debster that’s the annoying part about these. The only way is to press the button on the little control box at the exact same time. Also you can’t plus them end to end so if you want to cover a large area you’re gonna need a bunch of extension cords.
Oh, they don't automatically change functions by themselves. There is a little button on the control panel that you can press to change the function. I was just manually pressing the button for this video to change the functions. So to keep it on 1 function, you would just keep pressing the button to get to the function you want and then leave it. It will then keep that function.
No, but they are beautiful! I just got them and I dont mind pressing the buttons on individual strand of lights. I usually just keep them on the twinkling setting
Do you know of any brands that have the pattern functions that are also multi coloured lights? I live in Canada, the ones at Canadian Tire I have are 7 pattern ones but are not able to connect together sadly...
I don't think I've ever seen pattern lights that can be chained together. The only thing I've seen that comes close would one called "Tree Dazzler". They support hooking several onto one tree, but I'm not sure if the patterns are choreographed between the sets. Alternatively, you could just put on several disconnected sets of pattern lights or buy one of those trees with lights already pre-set in them.
Lots of retailers have LED lights that also have patterns, but most that I've seen have much fewer bulbs and are much shorter in length. I know that walmart had (and still probably has) a LED set that has patterns. You'd have to buy several sets and put them up on your tree in sections. Making sure they are all synchronized might be difficult. I haven't checked recently, so this information might be outdated. Good luck on your search.
my green ones went out I replaced the fuses still not working. they were working fine when I 1st put them up. does anybody know how I can fix the problem? my tree is already all put up and I would hate to take it all apart to exchange them.
Unfortunately, I don't think the one you bought has any functions. Fairly certain the boxes with functions have a green theme as shown in the video. (they also have "function" clearly written on them) Also, it seems like you might have the clear bulb option. In that case, there won't be any red tip bulbs. (or any color at that) If you've bought these recently, I would recommend you return them to then buy the ones with functions and multi colors.
If you want a true random twinkle and not blinking, you're out of luck, unfortunately. I have searched the net and cannot find any although written on the box, 'Twinkle' is one of the functions.
Landon Brunner The box says "indoors/outdoors", so I think they can be used outdoors. I only used them indoors though. You can find this one at Walmart.
It should change if you press and release the button. Don't hold the button down. If it doesn't change after several attempts, it may need to be exchanged or returned.

Wave is my favorite thanks for sharing.
I got a set of these thinking they had a regular twinkle/blinking function. Nope. Back to the store! Wish I had watched this first.
Can you turn them off without unplugging them?
+Timmothy Copeland Thanks for the constructive feedback. You definitely have a point. Haven't had time to take a video of the lights on the tree.

What would be the best use for this size light as far as decorating the house outside?
I love the fuction lights...but wal mart seems 2 only sell the steady boring ones
Can you do a set up video please?

How do you sync if using multiple strands?

Same issue with my red ones not sure how to fix the problem 😔
Is the bulbs orange or red?
EmLovescrazy These bulbs come in red, green, and blue.
I bought the same brand but the box is white and red.....clear lights. How can i make them twinkle? They have no instructions or red tip bulbs.

akito6776 Thanks finally got it to change, but now stuck on option 1. Is what it is. Thanks again for the reply.
loses the effect with them all bunched up on the table like that, the chasing just looks like more blinking etc
I was thinking exactly the same...

Holiday Time brand lights are CRAP JUNK. I've been up on the roof 4 freaking times in the past 3 days because of sections going out.
