Thank you so much Senator Whitehouse!! Please keep bringing the facts ! Corporations can not pretend to be immune or above the law. The world is the home of all of us, not some few billionaires who are so willfully blind WHILE they rake in whatever they can at the expense of the planet and all of humanity. Thank you!!

The U.S. needs to take the opportunity this November to vote IN a slew of anti-war & anti-AIPAC officials to work toward a livable climate. In other words, more like Senator Whitehouse.

There's a bill in the House to do what is needed. Ask your Congress people to Co-sponsor the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act. See Citizens Climate Lobby for easy ways to do that, and more.

I never considered what the damage from climate change would have on our military installations - glad I watched this video. Unfortunately, one party keeps denying that climate change is an issue, and therefore will not support much of the needed legislation. Voters - keep this in mind when you vote.

Oceans absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere helps keeping our climate stable, However fish are threatened by deep sea mining. Reduce plastic also made by oil process of extracting, refining by oil.

The 2000-2022 drought in Western North America hammered us. Our business is tied to summer travel. Multiple years of fires and smoke cost us tens of thousands of dollars in lost business. Our home insurance costs have quadrupled and our car insurance and electricity have doubled. A fire a year and a half ago wiped out over 120 homes. 40% of the folks who lost homes didn’t have insurance. It is getting hotter too quickly for our forests and shrublands to adapt in any way other than to burn down

Sen Whitehouse should call Prof Steve Keen to testify on the desperately negligent climate related economic risk assessment made by most economists (eg Nordhaus). He’s spoken out for years on the faulty policy advice given by mainstream economists, from leaving us exposed to the GFC, to climate. Their theoretical foundations are ruinously unrealistic.

Among other emissions military emissions are not even counted. Current wars, specially in Ukraine has forced nations to spend trillions to fossil fuel used military equipments. This ensures the large emissions for decades to come. US army emissions alone are estimated to be similar that 10th largest country emits today.
So military emissions alone are enoug to drive world over 3C limit.
Also Guardian inquiry found that over 77% of IPCC climate experts thinks that world will warm to over 2,5C by 2100. Current trend with emission cuts included is toward 3-5C warmer world.
And keep in mind 3C limit is where civilizations begins to collapse and even human race is under threat of extinction.
We simply cannot allow the main cause of this rapid temperature rise continue. Stop burning fossil fuels. Today.

No, Not really~> You need the car makers to side with the drivers & not to side up with the oil companies~ No reason they can't make a car etc etc..
Too be powered by the car going down the street! It can be a rolling wind turbine~ It can be used with more alternators, & extra batteries not to just have one of each~?
Like they are built with today! It can have Solar cells on the roofs of them~! It can have the wheels to be the generators as they go down the road~!
With way less useless over priced engine parts! We need the eVTOL's for flying, with even less parts of them aircraft! Flying cars~!

Climates have changed since the world began; why is this particular change causing such concern? By what metric are they actually measuring climate change? It would seem, it is only by rising temperatures; what if temperatures start to fall? Even at present assumed rates of temperature rise, the IPCC acknowledge that, by 2050, deaths from the cold will still be significantly greater than deaths from warmth. Also, do note that the IPCC has declared that there is NO weather event that can be attributed to climate change - see AR6 WG1 Table 12.12.

You are in denial, Mr. Payne. Please, please commit to reading what the professionals - the current climate scientists & longterm climate researchers - have been writing about and broadcasting for over 40 years; especially the recent situations. Please stop hiding your head in the sand. The far-right extremists will continue to tell you what they want you to believe. It makes them wealthy. Wealth is power. I realize that the strong possibility of human and worldwide destruction is a very difficult situation to face. But millions of us are facing what you cannot seem to. We are already well into what scientists have termed "the Fourth Extinction." You cannot wish our dilemma away. Now, you must become more aware of the dangers that this planet faces, for the sake of your family, if for no other reason. Thank you.
