There are several forums on the internet about the paint defect on Toyota vehicles. They used to be great, regardless of the type and how low or high the original prices were.

All car manufacturers have very thin paincoat these days. We have several Toyota's in our businessfleet, no problems with the paint at all. Very nice paintjob, but, yes, thin. As lon as it last no problem with that. The bmw, Mercedes cars are is thin painted as well.

Toyota's are probably the cars with the worst quality clear coat on the roads today. Specially from 2006-up. There's probably not a single 2006-2008 Corolla without a rusted roof out there today.

Unreal!!! My Corolla's paint defomed because of factory eror. Turkey Toyota company accept this mistake. But they didn't formally indicate it. We had in Las suit since 2018. Again a Toyota Nooooo!!!!

The Tacoma Baja plant skips the primer process. They apply topcoat directly to e-coated metal, which doesn’t adhere and begins to peel shortly after the warranty expires. Toyota quality is really slipping.

Garbage!!! My Yaris paint clear coat started to peel off less than two years after buying it new, but I failed to bring it to the dealership before my warranty was over!!! I will never ever buy another Toyota car again since they never took care of it. I had always garaged the car and washed and waxed it regularly!!

***** Actually I bought it due to the fact that it was built in Japan.

***** this particular one was imported from Japan as any 07 model was. It had the window sticker that clearly stated that this vehicle was built in Japan. That's exactly why I chose it over the domestically built Corolla at the time.

***** I understand your point, however the original window sticker which is still in my possession clearly states the fact that my Yaris was built in Japan and the port of entry was Los Angles. It's a 100% Japanese built vehicle.

***** well, all I can tell you are the facts; I bought the car brand new, the window sticker says built in Japan and I've seen several of the Blue color of the same year of production to suffer from the same problem. They can't write lies on the factory window sticker. At this point, I really don't care. At least it runs until I'll pick up a new vehicle. For your info, my friend has a 2002 Camry which he bought new and it now has over 230K miles on it and it has no issues. That car by the way is an American made Camry. It's a fluke with the Blaze Blue color Yaris models of 2007, which have paint issue. In any case, no one or no nationality is perfect for that matter.
