The greatest compliment I can pay you is to say how quickly the time just flies as I watch and listen to your videos. I liken it to watching a film in the cinema. You know you've witnessed a classic when suddenly "The End" flashes up on the screen and it seems like you have been sitting there for hardly any time at all. Why David? He's a superb profile fit in every aspect. The perfect rotation with Richarlison. You're missing his qualities, Sean. I've done a lot of research into him and he's deceptive. By his own admission, he's a team player, trading glory for doing the right thing, which can make his clips look lacklustre. The Athletic has him at a 95.4% profile match with Benzema. His positional play, fluidity, rotations, combinations, versatility, intelligence, defensive work rate, movement, ball-playing, 1-touch poaching instincts, timing. It's all spot on in terms of what Ange needs from a versatile 9. His raw data doesn't lie; in the right system and at the right PL club, he _will_ excel, I am absolutely confident of that.

@@MoTHFC Watching the odd 90 minutes tells you little (especially if it's an international game). Watch games, understand the data. They go hand in hand and aren't mutually exclusive. Data can tell you more than pure eye-test because humans are incredibly poor, generally speaking, at making judgements based on what they see, especially non-experts. We're a mess of biases and irrationality. Data helps fix our foibles, if you can read it.
Since you have done so much research, could you tell us this? I'm interested in what his weakness are. What aspects of football does he need to improve on? How could he develop as a player in the future?
@@sphong0610 He's still young, so has rough edges in several areas, but has steadily worked on improving his game overall. So I'd say his biggest weakness is overall inexperience. I'd add in consistency - he can be a bit anonymous if he's not getting chances; he doesn't generate much on his own. His hold up play could do with work too, but it's NOT bad. He's not the tallest, either, so his aerial stuff is not the best. He is, reportedly, a strong learner who absorbs information fast and translates that to output on the pitch. Whatever Ange wants him to do, he'll work hard on doing it - he is adaptable.

I think the rumor on Tony is a negotiating tactic. Brentford want an unrealistic number for a guy who is 28 years old and in the last year of his contract. I think that they are going to find themselves short of buyers in the marketplace and that Tottenham will come back for him later in the window. They did this last year with their goalkeeper - they asked an unrealistic amount of money for him, and then they practically gave him to Arsenal for 24 million in the end. Regardless of his personality and history, for the right price tag, that guy would help our front line immensely in the attack. He is a handful for any center back - he is big, tall and strong. He’s good in the air, and he’s great with his hold up play. He is exactly the kind of striker We need upfront. ignore the personality for a little bit, he is the right fit.
Exactly.Everyone deserves a 2nd chance. If we wait and get him for like 40mil. He would improve us massively. IF, and IF, he does relapse at some point, we still have Richy, Son and our other attackers to finish the rest of the season. Heck maybe bring up Will Lankshear in a 30min cameo in Europa and see what happens. Yes a relapse would be a 40mil loss. but if we do a medical we could hire psychologists as an extra part of the medical to judge if he is likely to relapse. and keep psychologists checking up on him to keep him off betting.
I think Toney will end up at West Ham and probably do quite well there.

Turn the window on it's head... put Porro up front on the right to rotate with BJ, now buying a top class right back for 30-40 is possible.
Add Kulu to.the for sale list. he doesn't fit on the right.. that's unless we put him in the nine to rotate with a-n- other. Ain't gonna be Richi.
I can see Kulusevski actually working quite well as a false 9 in some games and he does what Postecogleu seems to want from his striker which is basically press and be a nuisance. I know it was only Sheffield Utd but he played well in that game. Bit worried for this transfer window though as not many of the links so far would improve the team and Spurs already seem to be moving onto third and fourth choice targets

Well done Sean , great insight and information through your podcasts. First and foremost your are Tottenham through and through. You are balanced and informed on all things Tottenham. But this news about our targets (I know all speculation atm) smacks of a typical Enic/DL move. Aim high , buy cheap(er/est). Thats why more and more Spurs fans have turned/are turning against the owners, (Enic). It always seems to be "Full Steam Ahead" with regard to off field activities , (Hotel/NFL/Land purchases etc) and you know what , they'll be no expense spared with any of those project's. Yet on the field all we get in news or club itk, is money is tight, FFP rules, no CL revenue blah, blah, blah. It sounds like the same ole, same ole, every year. If the hotel was costed in the original stadium loan , then was that portion of the loan used on the overspend of the stadium ? Over the last 10 years I assume our turnover and profit has risen hugely. Ticket prices at Tottenham have always been really expensive especially in that same 10 year period. Fans will eventually turn off if the ticket prices get ridiculously high. I wonder how other clubs keep their ticket prices down , especially those without, NFL, Music Concerts, Go-kart etc ? The stadium will fill though with tourist fans ready to fill the new hotel, abd thats what Enic want imo. Fan's willing to pay silly money for one off visits to watch a Premier league game. In my opinion Enic dont really care where fans/tourists come from or what type of person (one- off tourist visitor or fervent Spurs fan) sits in the vacant seat , as long as the stadium sells out. Enic will always hide behind FFP whilst other clubs just stick two fingers up. We can't find money to replace our record goalscorer , yet we can to finance a new hotel. No wonder there is anger amongst the fan base. If we sell Richarlison we need two strikers brought in not 1. If this happens it will show to me yet again , one step forward , then stall the team progress. We need two strikers for rotation for hopefully many more games. Its now or never for Enic imo. Build a proper fit for purpose squad , capable of two games a week. Time for the owners to show they mean business on the field, and rebuild some trust between themselves and the supporters. In Ange's system, it's key that any striker/forward they go for has the ability not only to bang in the goals but also are able to press constantly throughout a game. Can David do that. Not sure?

NevOakes....Cape Town...I'm really trying to understand why their is an issue with the signing of Toney...His in the last year of his contract at Brentford, then it's his age ( 28 )...If his age is the issue,and his valuation to high, then why don't we use players from the academy who are younger and ere on our books already...Throw them in at the deep end,then see if they can swim....Why are we afraid to use younger players compared to some clubs in the league who are giving their academy players a chance....TO DO IS TO DARE....Give them a look in ...You might just be pleasantly surprised ...

With Toney you have the recent tragic example of Tonali. Newcastle paid big bucks for a great player and lost him for 2 years. AC Milan knew this was coming when they sold him.

The Toney issue replicates the Raya one of last season with Brentford setting the price too high and thinking someone will just pay it . He is just not worth more than £40m with his age and contract situation plus the personal risks .

I'm not too worried about the lack of names atm. The market is slow in general (aside from some sleezy PSR dealings) and like you said it seems like the club is playing things close to the vest. Ali Gold said they're pushing for 1 or 2 statement signings and I think that makes sense where the rest would be depth/opportunity. I think we'll push the boat out a but and get at least one of the the Eze, Vlahovic, Bakayoko tier players in the door after the tournies wrap.
Ornstein just said Jonathan David in talks with Chelsea. Maybe Ali Gold is trying to throw everyone off the scent of our real targets. We tend to do our transfers later to get a better deal. We won't really know until we get the 'here we go'. Bakayoko would be a great buy btw.

If we can get CHIESA I wont mind going cheap and getting David. Chiesa (1 yearl letft on contract, 30-40mil value) has old friends from Juve in Spurs so he can be convinced, as well as by Ange, and we know Paratici can work his magic. Have him start as our new RW mostly, then when Son starts dropping off, Chiesa will be his successor on the LW.

I empathize with you. But if we have to go cheap on David because we can get Marquee winger who can score and assist alot.. examples like Raphinha, Bakayoko, Chiesa etc. then im slightly satisfied. but still we should be aiming higher.
Well yeah but people were complaining the same way about Vicario, VDV etc while hyping up Madisson as our best signing (he still did good first half of the season but Vicario and VDV did much better).

It doesn't surprise me that the Spurs hierarchy is sending out negative messages about certain players. I'm guessing the selling clubs want telephone numbers for their star man this early in the transfer window. Spurs prepared to play the waiting game and hope the price drops, maybe?

Let's just go get Tony and Eze. For Tony, yes there's some distancing, but that has to be the price. He also gives us another dimension of playing, if we need versatility we can always use Son or Kulu in the 9 (we also still have a fox in the box w/ Richy). I haven't seen anything from worthwhile from Jonathan - impressive workrate but I don't think he's ready for the next level. As for Eze, 60 mil is a bargain for that kind of quality!!

The new training wear sponsor is MGM. It don't think that's the film studio side, I think it's the gambling side that owns the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Personally, I'm not in favour of betting company sponsorship but, as the Ancient Romans used to say, _pecunia non olet_ (money has no smell).
Maybe Spurs' plan B for next season is 4-2-4 like the one we used against Mancity. No number 9 but 2 wide wingers and 4 midfielders. That way we can use Son- Eze- Maddison- Johnson(Kulu) upfront. Maybe Bis and Bantancur behind.
Zirkzee or Toney should be our targets, we for sure need heavy good with his back at goal and in the air, this is a must for our number 9.

TBH, re: Eze, I really want him at Spurs but I think I would have preferred Olise-silky smooth movement, swift, a great eye for a cross and pretty lethal in front of goal.
Be glad if Bissouma goes, he has just not delivered and doesn't seem engaged enough with the team, I want to see a squad with players who are consistent and committed to proving themselves the best in the position every single week-look at the discipline and work ethic at Man City, Arsenal, etc., if the players don't perform they are taken off and kept off, no room for passengers-we need to be like that.
I'd like us to bid for the likes of John McGinn of Villa-no idea where he'd go but I like his strength and determination and we certainly need a bit of grit in midfield.
Bit depressed knowing that other teams will know what to expect of us next season and will be perfecting their counter-measures, the only way we are going to overcome the low block is to have top-class, penetrating wingers who can cross and at least two quality forwards, if we don't dramatically transform the dynamic of our attack play we'll end up banging our heads against the wall again like we did so much of towards the end of last season.
What is going on with spurs? I was under the impression that we would get our business done quick. What purpose do Lange and co serve if nothing is going to change from the days levy was overseeing transfers.

Jonathan David has scored 2 goals against the top 5 other Ligue 1 teams this year. Against the bottom 5 teams, 11 goals. That may answer your question. That said, for 20m euros, he may worth a shot as a rotation 9.
Everyone has differing opinion mate. I see our most important positions being improved this summer to be striker and right back. I don’t think a 6 will come this summer as we have high numbers that can play there. But we can only guess
