Hi you two. I Wanted to share that I was genuinely excited to see a new video. You are doing such a great job summarizing the news in a creative and meaningful way. Thank you.
You guys are actually a really underrated AI channel, you covered all the big news the other bigger AI news channel covered, but you also manage to find interesting smaller things that run under the radar of the maintstream AI news. And you guys are funny and make AI news more fun and down to earth than other channels. Great job guys.
@@AIForHumansShow Hey it means a lot that you guys make good AI for humans content. I would love to see you partner with a larger pop culture news channel like for example like a philip defranco, and maybe collaborate on some kind of periodic basis. I mention this bc I see similarities in your reporting styles. But I think it would be cool if your channel could get a signal boost by providing, imo, important reporting that larger more broad social media/pop culture reporting channels don't cover but should if they want to be more savvy.
just started the new video drop. leaving a thx comment up front so i don’t forget ha. everything still looks great and going well, i am in stitches excited and happy about ai.
First of all, one of your best episodes. Second, the agentic Claude stuff is something which right now burns through so many tokens that I don't think I'll be using it much. If it was so cheap that I could run it permanently without feeling it as a financial hit, it would change the nature of how I use computers. Just goes to show that as models become cheaper and more capable, their use-cases go through the atmosphere. Thirdly, I really hope that referring to the new model as Claude 3.5.1S becomes standard. It is night-and-day different from the previous version and really deserved its own name / version number. Finally, I heard the speculation that the reason we don't see the frontier models (O1, GPT-4.5, Gemini 1.5 Ultra, Claude 3.5 Opus is that these companies don't want their competitors to train on their highest-capability models, which would give them the ability to very easily compete on the general-use mid-size models. The thought of us not even getting to see the real frontier models anymore is quite unsettling and sad. I hope this is just not correct speculation, but who knows?
first, thank you as per usual ! second, yeah I think the cost to do much right now is a LOT - I saw someone say it cost three bucks to do that wordle test we showed in video -- which feels untenable but over time it will get so much cheaper. I never know about the speculation parts but that is a huge bummer if that's the case but ofc we're in a world where billions are being spent so i guess they're getting protective
I can't wait for AI to be able to call companies for me and go through all the annoying number prompts so they can get me to a real person without wasting 5 minutes doing it for me....even better is when companies will use AI as the front of the company and we can just talk to an AI right away and not have to do all of that nonsense to begin with.
Bahahaha lol “aboard the AI express train, next stop who f’ing knows” Haha this reminds me of those AI cohosts that used to say the funniest stuff as sign offs

Also I *bleeping* love when Kevin wakes up feeling dangerous testing the bleep boundaries haha great episode as always guys
It means that the AI looks at lots of data, comes up with rules on what sort of output should come after a given input, but bc humans don't know exactly what the rules are the AI may "hallucinate" or give a plausable sounding non-sense answer and/or it will provide the end user with information that is potentially harmful or dangerous.
Yo @memegazer thank you! I've generally understood the safety aspect broadly speaking but your breakdown is super helpful specifically. I guess I question anytime I see the headline ("Another OpenAI Safety Alignment Employee Leaves") I start to question wtf is safety alignment these days... You'd think by your definition it's, uh, p-r-e-t-t-y important. But with so much $$$ is involved, let's hope those safety scales stay balanced
@@dylanhogan3 I agree it is very important, but I am not particularly surprised that OAI has not prioritized resources to explore the issue. Their very identity of beating other AI researchers to market with a product demonstrated to me when they entered the scene that they are more concerned with commodifying AI as a brand in a market that they lead, rather than allocating resources into researching safe deployment of AI as a social economic disrupting force. I suppose they are getting away with this approach at this level of AI development bc they can intervene in response to jailbreaks (jailbreaks as defined as end user violations of terms of conditions of use as arbitrated by the service platform provider) of their products that get bad or contraversial press with heavy handed end user restrictions.
@@dylanhogan3 At least at the level of AI agents the scale of danger for AI to give a potentially harmful or safety concerning output is escalated. If you look at OAI's AI progress scale tier, one would logically assume as AI capibilities go up, their investment is safe deploy is scaled accordingly. But I have seen no evidence that is an option they are considering or exploring. Or at least that is not the monetization model they have rolled out for their clinet tier listing.
