He can sing those high notes he just doesn't. There's recordings of this song during the with teeth Era rehearsals and even then he sings the ending just like here even though during other songs he's able to hit those high notes. For some reason he just wants to sing it like this and yea it's dissapointing.
The crowd knowing every word and the laughing in disbelief make this video even better.
