I personally know a guy who played on the PGA tour, who once told me this on a driving range...............Golf is the one game no one can figure out completely. That is why teaching pros will always have a job, because people think they have some magical answer. All they can really do for you is set you up properly to hit the ball......In an actual swing, you're hoping a clubhead traveling 80 mph or more will hit a golf ball with the face no more that 1/4th" open or shut....it's almost impossible to do that very often unless you're a full time player. So if you have the correct pre-shot fundamentals down already, (grip, stance, posture), then you're really wasting your money on lessons. Just go play.......some days your timing and putting will be better than others, so some days you'll score better than others. It's as simple as that.
I once asked my local pro, "Hey Neil, How come I'm pulling all my shots left?" He replied nonchalantly, "Cos you won't pay me for f*****g lesson."...I had to admit, that was fair comment.
