I loved the way the color palate changed throughout the movie. Blue for blue collar, red for the higher up dudes ruling over them. Gold also representing Cassius' goals to climb the ladder and achieve within the company (golden elevator) . As he falls away from the strike, he has more red incorporated into his surroundings (notice his tie at the party) while detroit consistently has something blue (the scene where they fight over the bed sheet) in the first act the color blue surrounds the cubicles, while gold is incorporated in the encounters with managers. "Cash is Green" theres a bunch of green in the meeting with the CEO dude, oh and the fact that the apple is green, and apples are kinda the devil's fruit of deception. Probably more but no review had mentioned the colors and I'm a little bummed about that since theres so many overall symbols throughout the film
I'm gonna have to disagree on the 'one thing' point. I don't think it was built off the foundation of the white voice, it was built off of a want to criticize captialism.
Christina G the white voice aspect comes from the scenes where we see Cash and his other African American friends are having to put on a fake white voice to do their jobs and get by. It shows the white supremacy in our world and also how success makes people become someone they’re not.
@@visualspark6308 I think you guys are both right. It is to do with supremacy, and to do with capitalism. It's not just that it's a white voice, it's that the white voice is the least abrasive, and offensive tone to elitist's. When dealing with elitists, you must boil down all of what makes you, you (race, culture, quirks, uniqueness in any capacity), into the most acceptable form of yourself. So yes, white is that most "acceptable" form, but its also being supported and propagated by capitalistic forces. They go hand in hand.
@@ty_hens thats wrong though. Yes, it's a double meaning on race. But the "white voice" is a broader comment on how EVERYONE fakes it. White people included. Our overly nice, just gotta get through the day, voices are still very much so fake. It's a comment in capitalism still. It didn't pivot just to race
Just saw this film tonight, but that's besides the point. Dude, from one Taylor to another, you've figured your shit out. Great videos man, it's prevalent in your content that you actually care about what you're talking about.
First I've been seeing ads for the movie and just needed some convincing, also I know you won't see this but um I was just wondering what your thoughts were on *Isle Of The Dogs*.
Considering how many even positive reviews seem to miss the point despite how direct some of the dialogue is, I think there should have been slightly more focus put on emphasizing certain ideas rather than quips that state things outright
spoiler alert(???) i kinda wanted squeeze and detroit to become a thing but i was very glad to hear they did "not go all the way" because he OBVIOUSLY had an STD
There’s a “horror” movie on Netflix called ‘The Voices’ starring Ryan Reynolds (came out circa 2014) would love to hear your thoughts on it ! I thought it was an interesting perspective ..

I went out to see this with some friends and they knew less then I did. We had a great time before everything went to the shit. Or should I say horse shit. Was a great time
Okay I get it you’re not Chris Stuckmann That said SPOILER Yeah the equisapien? Thing had me like WHAT DAFUK? And I’m gonna say it; they were “ well hung”:
One issue I had was this film was too long, and I feel it could have been done better a few years ago rather than be a more recent movie. The impact would have settled in better and would have cult status at this point. The politics wouldn’t feel as forced and would’ve have been a fresher film
Lol I love how you just latched on to ONE apsect of the film and got it all wrong. It ain't about the "white voice". Dude, even white people had the white voice. Why? Because it's MORE than just a metaphor on race. It's about how we all just conform and fake it to get by. Regardless of race. White people gotta do it too. The double meaning is obvious, but you're simply wrong about that point AND you're completely and utterly wrong about the point of the whole film. The movies MAIN theme is capitalism and conformity. Black people needing to use the "white voice" to get by is just a single point about capitalism of many. And how easily you can abandon a cause and your own people, as soon as your oppressors invite you in to be an oppressor in a sense yourself. How easily it is to conform when you're successful. When the system is working for you.
i want you to put that shirt in the back of your closet. you may wear it again in 30 years. just go with solid colors. maybe a t shirt under a blazer or leather jacket you look like your mom dresses you. yeah, a leather jacket with a black t shirt would work. oh, and consider doing a series, like best pictures, sci fi, amazon/netflix shows or movies.

*_"I grew up with black people" - Chris Stuckmann_*
“Hammer the message.” I see what you did there
First I've been seeing ads for the movie and just needed some convincing, also I know you won't see this but um I was just wondering what your thoughts were on *Isle Of The Dogs*.
+thedepressedsnowflake I just watched Isle of Dogs the other day it's so damn good.

Loved the video, wish I could've watched until the end but I haven't seen the film yet. Good to see someone around my age doing quality content.
spoiler alert(???)
i kinda wanted squeeze and detroit to become a thing but i was very glad to hear they did "not go all the way" because he OBVIOUSLY had an STD
This is totally unrelated but can you do a commentary/analysis for Nocturnal Animals?
holy shit thank u. i love this movie
Yeah, I love that movie too.
Another thing that stuck when I left is Cassuis Green's name. Cash is green on could say. But maybe I'm looking too much
Lmao they literally talk about that in the movie ur not special for noticing

10/10 review my guy
6:08 that didn’t age well 😂😂😂
Unpopular opinion but I hated this film. 3rd act shits all over itself and dances around in it
Armie Hammer is good at playing CEO's.
I really enjoy your content. Have you seen the thriller "They Look Like People"? What are your thoughts?
Please review orange is the new black season 6, I'd love to know your opinion on it as it doesn't seem to be recieved that well although I love it.
do spoilers really matter tho.
I went out to see this with some friends and they knew less then I did. We had a great time before everything went to the shit. Or should I say horse shit. Was a great time
I liked the soundtrack. That's about it. Oh and Tessa.
Got an ad for the movie on this video ahaha
Okay I get it you’re not Chris Stuckmann
That said
SPOILER
Yeah the equisapien? Thing had me like WHAT DAFUK? And I’m gonna say it; they were “ well hung”:
I'm just going to like this video then like it after I've watched the film "Sorry to Bother You," thank you for the spoiler warning
This is the only smart, somewhat in-depth review I've found of this film. Well done. But, do we really care about the "romance" angle?
THANK YOU FOR THE EARLY SPOILER WARNING!
Love your analysis bud

The score was actually composed by tUnE-yArDs
Huh, I definitely heard him in there, I just thought he collaborated with tUnE-yArDs by himself
I almost would have liked it more if it was split into 2 different films
FUCK yeah i've been waiting for your thoughts on this movie
Lol I love how you just latched on to ONE apsect of the film and got it all wrong.
