    This is a full review of the RUIXU Server rack battery and Battery Cabinet. The communication works great... The only thing I saw that wasn't working was it didn't show the "Num Batteries in Parallel". But that wasn't a big deal... everything else has been working awesome! I’ve had four of these setup connected to 2 X 6000XP’s for a whole house backup use case (until I put solar in this summer) for about 4 months. I’m very happy with them and really like the cabinet. I did ground the batteries and cabinet to my grounding system to be consistent with the rest of my system. Nice video

    Cabinet should be grounded to your house ground. Inverter should also be grounded to your house ground. Any stray current should go to ground. It's be pretty easy to run a ground up into your panel.

  • @AndrewMetcalfe
    @AndrewMetcalfe 3 месяца назад +2

    It's best to have overcurrent protection on both ends of that wire. Guidance is to have the fuse or circuit breaker close to the battery. The reason you want that is in case of accidental short-circuit, which can happen from wear to the wires, or accidentally touching contacts at the inverter. Each of those batteries can put out many hundreds of amps briefly... and you have three of them. You can have a LOT of energy come out very quickly.
    Depending on the inverter circuit breaker is unwise as there are many ways to create a short in the circuit upstream of that inverter.
    These batteries put out a lot of current, and you have several of them in parallel- proper fusing is absolutely required. Use a Class-T fuse.

    from inverter to busbars, equal lengt cables ...top side of the rack for + and bottom side of the rack for -- is the best setup to go. fact is...bigger system always use serverracks with bars. its just the best. so cudos for going for this setup ...

      plus vs minus inverter to bus bar cable lengths do not have to be the same.

    Agreed 👍🏽 great video, well informative, and as far as your ground I would just ground it to your panel. Your earth ground it right on top…

      My wife was worried about the batteries getting stolen from my garage. But with that heavy duty rack that locks, it would actually be pretty hard to get them out.

    I think I'm going to go with that Eg4 6000XP and Ruixu Battery"s and Cabinet, Ray can you do a video with ur new battery set up running all ur appliances in ur home?

      Thanks, in the video just before this one. I showed that this setup can run three 240 total appliances. That video will give you a good idea of what it can run. It's very powerful. If you use my links and discount codes, shoot me your order number, I still have some gift cards I'm trying to give away.

    If the BMS is in control of the charge and discharge rate then diagonal main battery connection does nothing but look terrible. You will have way more internal resistance differences in the individual cells and wiring than those 600 amp all copper bus bars! Very nice racking though thanks for the vid.

      Yup, totally agree. When they started getting low I wonder if they were communicating their charge and adjusting for that as well. They all ended at 4% which was pretty cool.

    Ray, why not the EG4-WallMount Indoor Battery | 48V 280Ah | 14.3kWh | Indoor | Heated UL1973, UL9540A? Cheaper than the 3 battery package with battery rack and takes up less room.

    • @diySolarPowerFunWithRay

      This one: signaturesolar.com/eg4-wallmount-indoor-battery-280ah-51-2v-14-3kwh-indoor-heated-ul1973-ul9540a/?ref=DiySolarPowerFun
      I'm actually review it now. It's not bad... if you want it to look clean with conduit you need to buy that box that goes on top which is an extra $100.
      The main downside of the wall mount is the weight. (300lbs!) It's super heavy. I had a real hard time mounting it to the bracket on the wall in my garage. I can't imagine bring it down stairs. I hurt my back a little trying to get it to align on the lower bracket. One doctor visit will offset the cost quite a bit. Other than the weight it seems good to me.
      I think I'm gonna do a review video comparing the different types of batteries.

    I was told by signature solar that the eg4 all in one units would not communicate correctly with the Ruixu server rack batteries. Any short commings of this set up? Thanks

    • @diySolarPowerFunWithRay
      @diySolarPowerFunWithRay  2 дня назад

      It is not currently listed as a supported battery eg4's website... but I've got the communication working. Signature Solar won't support you if you have any battery problems... I guess that's the biggest issue. The batteries have worked pretty good for me. Whoever you can get support from current connected if you buy through them... I would call current connected and ask them about it though just to confirm. Also, Ruixu has a Facebook group with support there... and a Chinese phone number for support, which I have never called. Hope this helps.
      If you do end up wanting to go this route, and if you email me your order number after using the affiliate link/discount code I have some extra swag hanging around that I'm trying to give away that I can give you.

      @diySolarPowerFunWithRay hey Ray.....I really appreciate the response and offer. I'm going to watch more of your videos today when I get some downtime and think we subbed yesterday. Ruixu sent us these same three batteries, and Sungold is sending us a 10k all in one unit, I guess.....so I hope this communicates well with the ruixu batteries. Appreciate the videos and help my friend.

      I bet it will work. If not, you could just run it without the closed loop communication. Good luck. 👍

    You have EG4 inverter. Why Ruixu instead of EG4 or others?

    • @diySolarPowerFunWithRay
      @diySolarPowerFunWithRay  3 месяца назад +2

      Regarding budget batteries: I'm not a fan of the budget SOK batteries because they don't have communication. Regarding the eg4 lifepower4 Budget Battery...It's pretty good and it has really good communication with eg4 inverters, however it doesn't come in a self-heating option compared to the Ruixu. The ruixu also has a smaller profile which I like and also has that nice cabinet. If you don't care about a self-heating or or a larger profile, then the eg4 battery would probably be best...imo. for heating and a smaller profile, and a nice cabinet I would go with the ruixu. I also like the gray color.
