Scanner And Its Types In Hindi

Scanner is an input device which is used to convert hard copy into soft copy. With the help of scanner Text on paper, images, graphics and characters are scanned and stored in the computer. Scanners usually come with software,
and it is necessary to install this software in the computer. The first image scanner was built in 1957 at the US National Bureau of Standards by a team led by Russell A. Kirsch. It was a Drum Scanner. In 1975, Ray Kurzweil developed the first flatbed scanner. There are various types of scanner :-
1. Flatbed scanner:-The most popular type of optical scanner is a flatbed scanner, which scans documents on a flat surface. Flatbed scanner is the most common scanner available in the market for home and business applications. The speed of flatbed scanner is very fast, it can scan about 27 pages in a minute.
2. Sheetfed Scanner:- SheetFed Scanner is also known as automatic document scanner or ADF scanner. Sheetfed scanner are great for scanning enormous amounts of paper. Shhetfed scanners are commonly used by businesses to scan office papers.
3. Drum Scanners:- Drum scanners are used mainly for capturing a picture and producing at a very high resolution rate. Drum scanner are widely used in publications and the printing press.
4. Handheld scanner: The handheld scanners are small and compact
in size. Handheld scanner are also considered as small manual scanning devices that is generally used with hands for manual scanning.
5. Photo Scanner: Photo Scanner is a type of optical scanner that is mainly used to scan photographs. Photo scanner is also known as image scanner.
6. Film Scanner: Film scanner is also known as slide or transparency scanner and is used to scan photographic films. Film Scanner can scan film of any size.
7. Production Scanner: Production scanner works like flatbed scanner but
their speed is very fast. Production scanner have large automatic document feeders, usually over 100 sheets.
8. Book scanner: Book scanner is a type of overhead scanner. Book scanner is specially designed for scanning books and magazines.
9. OCR scanner: OCR stands for optical Character Reader or Recognition.
It is a scanning device that scans the previously pointed characters means converting images of text into an edible document.
10. OMR: OMR is a device which recognises a mark made with black pencil or pen on a plain paper. OMR records the presence or absence of the mark made on the paper.
11. MICR: As its name implies, MICR uses magnetic ink and special characters for character recognition. MICR is a widely used technology in the financial industry.
12. 3D Scanner: 3-D scanner isused to scan 3-D objects.
13. Biometric scanner:- Bio metric scanner is used to scan fingers.
14. Planetary Scanner: Planetary Scanner is used to scan sensitive and delicate objects without any physical contact.
