- I present to you: my orchestal rendition of Jenny of Oldstones, along with the amazing voice of Daniel Portman (Podrick)! At first I wanted to create a piano cover of this beautiful song, but since many people had done that already, I decided to come up with something a little more creative. I hope you enjoy this arrangement! I've tried to extract Daniel's voice as best as I could from the other sounds of the episode. I think the result came out pretty nicely. @Cunty D&D didn't want to make season 8 the only wanted 7 seasons. so if you see people that say it was shit... it kind off is because they just rushed it. i'm surprised that they even got past "the long night"(8x3)
I remember feeling this awful dread after the second episode. And during Pod’s song. Then the Long Night happened and almost everyone lived smh

I’m glad Pod made it in the end, but as a writer I think this would have been more powerful if this song was sung by a doomed man in a room full of the damned

Sure would make a nice change from all the Florence and her ripoffs that add too many details (or change up the tempo) and the beauty of the song is just lost.
I just had a thought about the Long Night. What if it took place over a whole season, but each episode only holds 1-2 perspectives. Say in one scene Dany’s perspective is her flying her dragon with Jon, the night King knocks Jon off and he falls through the clouds and that’s the last that *Dany* sees him. Next episode might be Jorah fighting and leading below with silhouettes of dragons fighting above the clouds, then sees a small dot falling from the clouds not knowing who it is. Just an idea to have the Long Night be actually long. (Sure it might be one night, but thinking that so much has happened in one night when it felt so much longer than that satisfies me)

i know this is about Jenny, the one Prince Duncan fell in love with. But it is also about the tragedy of Summerhalls, isn't it? Or maybe really about Oldstones too (ancient castle now in ruins). But being also about the tragedy of Summerhalls gives it a more poetic significance.
Some theory said that this song was composed by Rhaegar Targaryen (he liked to sing)
This is such a beautiful and haunting song... Probably one of the best parts of season 8.
Arya having sex with Gendry and this song were the only good moments of season 8. Deny's speech was pretty awesome too
As it appears Episode 2 of Season 8 might be the last good episode of GOT we get... Sad...

For me, GoT ends with this song before everyone dies
Same. They all die and the white walkers take westros. Not my original idea for the end but still better than the ending we got.

Imagine the gruesome deaths they could have; bodies being eaten alive, screams. Some torn apart in pieces by the wights, others suffocate under the “ocean of wights.” If anything, I think a season full season of wondering “are they actually going to die or will they kill the night king?” When you think that someone important will live through it, they take that away to remind you that it’s GoT, there are no “happy endings”

I understand! I don’t have much experience with mixing. I wanted to make sure I added something new to his singing, but maybe I went a bit too hard on the orchestrals. Glad you still like it though😄

My main purpose was to expand on Podrick's voice, and create something extra epic! I like the florence + the machine version, but I feel like Podrick's voice is a way better fit for that epic game of thrones vibe.

From time to time I give it a try with this song to make a remake. That singing part for me is near impossible to extract decently from the video without all the background noises that muds a mix.
The more I try to process it with eq and tools, the more I mangle the quality...
