The style of the design is what attracts me. Colors can be changed and words changed or eliminated so the overall design is what attracts me. Good color choices in the original work are always a bonus. 2, 3 & 6 Thank you for your video.
Hi Annie, thanks so much for your time. I am a person who wants everything in cross stitch! I enjoy colors, beautiful fabric, and it goes on and on. 1,2,3,4,5,6. Have a great weekend 🤗🪡🧵
1it depends on what I'm in the mood for. 2 where I'm displaying it. 3 colors I love bright colors. 4 if a saying touches my heart. 5 if it's a gift for someone. Always enjoy your floss tube
Eliza's French Birds turned out beautifully. Such a delicate design. It is usually the colors that draw me to a pattern initially, but when I pick out one to stitch it does seem to be seasonal. 2 3 4 5 6 Many thanks to your friend for sharing such wonderful patterns with your viewers!
Happy belated birthday Annie. You are loved. Gifts are beautiful. What draws me to a chart is color, and I love stitching words. Especially an alphabet sampler. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
When choosing a new pattern to stitch, the subject matter of the design gets me first, then the colors. Love all your JBW choices; Eliza's Birds is beautiful! 3, 4, 5, 6.
Celebrate, Celebrate, dance to the music all month long! Your shelves look beautiful. When I choose a project it's what jumps out at me, can be the theme, or the colors or the message. On any given day it can be totally different than the next. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
I pick theme first then size. Schoolgirl samplers are my favorite cross-stitch designs. Happy Birthday Annie. 1,2 and 6 are my choices. Thanks for your generosity!
When I see a pattern I see the color first and then the overall design. The icing on the cake is the message it portrays. I especially love scripture. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
I usually am attracted to primitive designs and antique samplers. Sometimes a certain theme interests me . I love Eliza’s birds . It came out beautiful. 2,3,6
Many different styles of cross stitch designs catch my attention, but color and sentiment are the primary attention reasons that attract me to a pattern. 3 and 6
What draws me to a certain crossstitch. For me it is the particular item to stitch. Happy belated birthday and anniversary for you and your husband. Items 2, 3, 4 and 7 thank you!
A lot of times it is the colors that draw me in. But quite often I find when I watch floss tube that I am drawn in by what they are doing. And I also love when I here the back story of why a chart is created, that will draw me in. 1 & 3
Annie, this is Kate O’Keefe. When choosing a project, I consider uniqueness, complexity and color. 1,2,3,4,5,6 Happy Birthday and thank you for sharing your lovely shelf decor
I'm drawn by color & style mostly. I like old fashioned, antique, traditional looking projects with warm autumn colors. And anything patriotic, fall or Christmas. ~ Melanie
Annie you were the first flosstube I watched and have been hooked since the beginning. One of the great things about flosstube is getting the opportunity to see so many patterns that you could not possibly find in a one shop. If the pattern has a house it catches my eye and Christmas for seasonal stitching. 1 2 3 6
I suppose what draws me in is the cleverness of the subject. Like the clever wording of a country song. Of perhaps the challenge, I enjoy the puzzle quality. How much it’s like working a puzzle, a crossword. 1, 2, 5
If the design matches my decor in my home or if it it seems like it might be a good gift for someone I love I will definitely buy it. I try to have only 2-5 works in progress at the same time. I used to stitch only one at a time, but there is way too many designs that are so amazing now. Thank you for the opportunity for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Many blessings. Enjoy your daughter coming home.
Annie your shelves are just filled with such beautiful stitching and treasures. Thank you for sharing. I’m drawn to pieces first by the design then the color. 1-3-4-5
Eliza's French Birds is so lovely! That was a nice explanation of 1 strand of floss vs 2 strands. The blue and white antique floral bouquet is absolutely gorgeous! I just have to have a connection with the charts I choose. Some I choose after seeing them stitched by someone as I find it hard to tell what a stitch looks like from a dark photo. Some I choose for my own entertainment or for seasonal decor. I like a wide variety of styles and I try not to limit myself to stitching a certain type of genre. It's all for fun after all! 1, 3, 5, 6
I love your Eliza's French Birds! The colors are gorgeous! When I choose something to stitch, it's usually based on these three things: subject matter, color, size. Love the blue theme on the bookshelves! Have a great week! 6
I only got back into stitching after just putting it down for 25 years, so I’m really loving all the new styles and patterns available. I’m particularly drawn to patriotic and Christmas patterns as I make up for lost time. #1 would make a lovely housewarming gift for my daughter’s new home.
Eliza's French Birds is beautiful! Looking forward to seeing it in your green frame. The Dogwood Art Festival sounds like fun. Hope you and Nancy had a fun birthday celebration. I'm a "celebrate the whole month of April" kind of birthday girl too! LOL 😂So fun to see your decorated shelves up close - so pretty! When selecting a new design, it varies for me... sometimes the size - I'm in the mood for smalls, sometimes the colors - drawn to a color palette, sometimes the verse and now with wonderful stitchy friends, it's the nudge to stitch something we like together - SALs...Love ❤❤❤This community! Take care and Happy Stitching! 🧵
I love samplers the size and colors I love to see how beautiful the samplers where and how the young girls stitched them. I also love the Christmas ( Gingerbread) and fall patterns. 4, 6 😊
Hi Annie! Thanks for more enabling and for your generosity! The first thing that draws me to a pattern is that it must be a style that will match my home and nothing religious. # 3 !!!
What I focus on in patterns is color, saying, size and season. In no particular order, it all depends what I'm feeling at the moment. Your shelves look great. I really enjoyed seeing all your stitching. 1, 2, 3, 6
So happy you had a great time of celebrating your Birthday & Anniversary..the markings of our life! I am drawn to Smalls, Ornaments, & Samplers at different times, so deciding which phase I'm in is first, then I look for "words of wisdom", Scriptures, Inspirational quotes, etc., then the color combination is the icing on the cake! I rarely make color changes other than just changing the hues to suit my fabric. My whimsical pieces are usually smalls & ornament sizes, and my focus pieces are larger, more intricate, Samplers and Traditional art style. 1, 3, 4 . Have a great week!
I enjoy stitching seasonal pieces and also patriotic patterns. Sure enjoyed seeing your beautifully decorated bookcases with your cross stitch! Thanks- 2, 3, 6
What attracts me to a pattern is the distribution of the design, how it makes me feel, shading, color and fabric choices, old fashioned/primitive/historic motifs, a house with architectural detail, and a thistle or shamrock sampler. Lastly, if there is something unique about it that sets it apart, whether it is style or a unique motif. I also love learning about the sampler's history or how the design was inspired. 1,3,4,5 and 6.
Usually, I look for quotes or since I love the area I live in I have many designs of our town. 1 or 6 The French birds are beautiful. Thank you for sharing a video of your shelves. Love it. Have a good week!
When I look for a new chart to stitch, I am drawn to the colors, the message, the motifs (birds, houses, flowers) and whether it is visually appealing! 1 3 4 5 ❤❤❤ Happy stitching! 🧵
I look at the overall composition of the chart and I have favorite designers that I love their style and I am always drawn to their charts. 1, 2 Thanks Janine
Hi Annie - I am sure you are very excited to have Gray coming home. As children grow, life in the home sure changes. Your finish of Eliza's French Birds is so pretty. I am looking forward to seeing it framed. Enjoyed everything else as well. Your question really made me think about my patterns. I would have to say I like nature themes and patterns with a touch of whimsy. Like Blue Flower patterns, Teresa Kogut's Egg Collector and Lindy Stitches new release Porch Possum. Fun question. Take Care!
Things I look for when choosing a pattern to stitch varies. Some things that I look for is the border, the motifs and sometimes the season. Love your videos. 1,3,4,5
Happy belated birthday, Annie! I love anything maritime and beach themed. And motifs that are dreamy or fairy-like, have pretty colors or good words. And pumpkins ;D ... there is so much more that I love, it's hard to decide. #4 Thank you!
The colors are the first things I notice. Sometimes I'm looking for seasonal, so they pop out more...patriotic is ALWAYS on my radar!! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Your wips are looking great, Annie, and I love all the displays in your bookshelf as your stitched pieces are so beautiful. What draws me to a cross stitch pattern is mostly design, then I look at the size next as I feel everything else can be changed. 1, 6
Thank you so much yet again for another floss tube that was wonderful. What draws me to a new Cross stitch is normally, just like you, the size and color. Also, if it has in it things that I love, for example snowman. I normally love to Crosstitch anything with snowman. ☃️ 1, 2, 3, 6
Annie when I see a chart that calls my heart, it’s usually by a designer I love, like Brenda Gervais, Teresa Kogut …. I could go on. Size is important. I don’t go for big stitches - not enough time, and color does draw me in. Love your spring decor! 1
I get drawn to a pattern I’d like to stitch by the colors and the homily feel it gives me, no matter what season it is. 1,4,5,6 beautiful birthday cards you got in the mail!
Hi Annie - As always enjoyed your video. Happy belated and glad you enjoyed! When I buy patterns I have to say it’s usually the whole picture foremost followed by colors, seasons, samplers, and of course some by the message. 2,3,4,5. Happy Stitching - Kristy
What draws me in originally is probably the color of a project and then the message seals the deal. I also think we get inspiration of what to stitch of course from flosstube because of the way people take designs and make them there own. That gets my juices flowing to either pick up the project they are working on or to change something else I has seen to make it mine. 1 5.
Hi Annie, For me its the size and color that make me choose a pattern. thanks again for sharing all the amazing things you Stitch. NR 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
I love several different styles. Sometimes I want a quick stitch and other times I want a more involved pattern. I love all the same colors you do😊1,2,3,4,6
Your decorations and needlework are so pretty! I truly enjoy a wide variety. Sometimes I want cute and sometimes I want a beautiful sampler. But I bet color and motifs draw me to the genres I enjoy. 2,3,5,6
I might choose a new stitch for a number of reasons. Sometimes I can picture it as part of my decor. Sometimes the saying or the motifs just speak to me. Thank you for showing your shelves. You do a beautiful job decorating them. They gave me some ideas for how to display my work in my home. 1. 2. 3. 5. I am so happy to hear that you are having a fun birthday month. Happy birthday! Have a wonderful week!
When choosing a design, I am mostly a seasonal stitcher. I look at color, blue being my favorite. I look at the size of the design, which is mostly smaller. I have found that since I’ve started watching FlossTube videos, I am drawn to patterns that have been stitched that I might not have chosen just looking at the pattern cover. Sometimes a pattern just hits me and I don’t have a reason. I love the two Matilda patterns that Chrissy designed and pre ordered them. I’m glad you had such a nice birthday. Birthdays can be lots of fun. #’s 3,6
Elizas birds is such a lovely finish and those colors are beautiful. Fun seeing how you arranged your stitching and goodies. I love your book cover art!!!
Glad that you had a good birthday. I agree the end of school year can get crazy🤪🤪 I am drawn by colors and designs- love a good Quaker. There’s something very peaceful about stitching them. 1,2,3,4,5,6
I find myself being drawn to samplers now. Annie, you have been a good influence on me! The motifs and colors are what draws me in. Spring is giving me the enthusiasm to begin a big project. 1 4 5 6
Hi Annie, congratulations with your finish and also with your birthday and anniversary. You have a lot to celebrate this month. When i see a pattren i dwarn to colors, flowers, birds and houses. I love pattren 4 with the beautiful flowers. I wish you a happy week.
So glad to hear you had a great birthday (week!!) with lots of fun and friends. I'm typically drawn to charts that patriotic and speak of the home. I also enjoy stitching from the area I was born and raised...haven't lived in that area for many years and stitching these scenes keeps me grounded. 1 2 3 6 Until our next chat, Happy Stitching!
Happy belated birthday and anniversary! I like the "birthday month" idea🤗 I am drawn to birds, dogs, houses, squirrels, seasonal, and florals. Of course they all must be visually appealing. 2, 3, and 6.
Love Eliza’s birds! I pick a project based on the feeling it gives me at the time. I put things on my wishlist and as I’m ready for a new start I have choices to see what moves me. 3 5 6
Loving the shelf displays Annie, they look wonderful. I'm usually drawn to samplers and those with a lot of red in them. However, the soft pinks and greens in Eliza's birds really appeal to me after seeing your beautiful finish. x
The style of the design is what attracts me. Colors can be changed and words changed or eliminated so the overall design is what attracts me. Good color choices in the original work are always a bonus. 2, 3 & 6 Thank you for your video.

So glad to hear you had a great birthday (week!!) with lots of fun and friends.
I'm typically drawn to charts that patriotic and speak of the home. I also enjoy stitching from the area I was born and raised...haven't lived in that area for many years and stitching these scenes keeps me grounded.

However, the soft pinks and greens in Eliza's birds really appeal to me after seeing your beautiful finish. x
