Best board I have used for the price. I’m 6’1 165 and my Corso is 110. Tracks well. Slight cavitation until board expands after multiple uses. Made tough like our Navy rhib boat hulls.
Dude love your videos .. been looking for a fishing paddle board and I’m 6-2” tall and 270 weight and I’m not trying to get a narrow short board and seeing your videos is helping but still looking .. thanks dude
You're welcome! The Blackfin XL would be a good choice for your size, but if you want something even a little wider/more stable, check out the Glide O2 Angler www.inflatableboarder.com/glide-o2-angler-fishing-sup-review/
Do ALL of the action mounts use M6 bolts? Will a Scotty mount work on this board or are they only "Scotty Syle" and proprietary to iRocker? Also, are the "Scotty Style" mounts M6 as well?
There are both threaded accessory mounts for M6 bolts and Scotty style mounts. The Scotty mounts are for Scotty-brand and other compatible accessories. They use a different bolt size.
There's a lot that goes into choosing the right board including your size and how you plan to use the board. The XL and XL Ultra are the exact same size and outline. The biggest difference on the water is in the fin setup. The XL Ultra uses twin 9" fins and thus has better tracking, but less maneuverability, than the Model XL. The Model XL, however, has the ability to use all three of its fins (9" + 2 x 4.5") just the center 9" fin, or just the two 4.5" side fins - which means you can easily adjust the maneuverability and tracking performance, and set it up for shallower water if needed. Both are good options for high stability and up to medium-distance trips (4-5 miles). Off the water, the XL Ultra packs down much smaller and comes with an electric pump, so that is something to consider when choosing between them.
What did you decide? I am in the same dilemma, however I am leading towards the XL because of the increased rigidity, maneuverability, and extended deck pad.
the weight difference between XL ultra and Xl is not much for me ! XL model can handle up to 220 KG which is little better than ultra model but at the price point I Would go with XL model for what it offers ! i have XL model for 2 years and I'm just loving it more everyday !
With our bend test, 1.0" of bend is actually well stiffer than average - which is currently 1.6" from over 120 iSUPs. By jumping on the board, you can make just about any iSUP bend a pretty decent amount (though Isle's new Switch Pro doesn't!), but while paddling, the Blackfin Model XL really doesn't flex in any noticeable way on the water.
Really great video. Thanks for putting in the time to make this full review.

Which board would you recommend for paddling in the ocean and the bay in miami?
I am debating between the XL ULTRA and the XL
