this guy is dope af... i just enjoy this person for who he is, i dont even like any of the things he does...
You probably know this but don’t let your filter freeze, it can damage the fibers and it won’t filter properly but there’s no way to tell so you’ll have to throw it out
Definitely a good point, I got a bit worried about it freezing that night I think its fine but luckily they are cheap
@@MainelyOutDoors it’s really the only drawback but it’s easily preventable and you’re right they are cheap to replace

now that would be a great sub on the trail could definitely use the fat after a long hike. they are awful right now but they always mean god fishing so its bitter sweet. My next video featured many of them 😂

For an easy bag meal try stuffing, some potato flakes, and a pouch of gravy mix. Everything goes in the bag beforehand, just add hot water and a pouch of chicken! Scouts loved it. Trash in the empty bag hen your done.

Omg!! I loved all your videos in past and this one is the best. It taught us all how it’s like when you’re out there in the woods and streams. Sometimes you win , sometimes you lose. But I wouldn’t count your adventure as a loss. Not in a million years. GreAt job of gettin away from people. That’s not a bad thing. And you orchestrated a nice dinner of two. Love your videos. Haha ya I had a pair of wading boots fall apart on my like that couple years ago. Couple to many miles through the woods I guess.
Had a good chuckle at the way that casserole rolled out the bag haha. Thanks for the great content. Been watching your videos all the way from Scotland, psyching myself up for a fishing trip with my dad.
Walked the sole off my boots last year after about a 1/2 mile into a 2 mile hike into a river. Never even got the chance to wet a line that day but I did end up with a reason to buy a new pair.
That was my view on it! I have a hard time to justify getting new gear till I absolutely destroy the old gear.

Same thing happened to me with my hunting boots one time. The only difference was that mine only ripped half way back. Took my hoodie string and rapped it around the sole and the top of the boot.

It's nice to see a video where you didn't catch a lot of fish to show what the average fisherman goes through day in and day out. It doesn't always work in our favor without the right conditions.

It was! hahah naw I went with LL beans. Just about they only place I could find them that I could get them shipped before June.
I notice that you often park for the night in the middle of the road. Is that a common practice in the backwoods of Maine?
No its not. I do that here because just beyond that spot is a gate so no one can access it anyway. This was during mud season where they close many of the back roads until May so they dont get ripped up and none gets stuck

Strange. This one definitely underperformed. Dont think the algorithm pushed it very much.
Fishing is often disappointing. If you depend on it to keep you from starving to death you'll be disappointed every time. It's easier to bag a land animal.
Thank you for the video, really inspiring. I think I'd like to try the stroganoff but just use biltong ( en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biltong ) instead of jerky.
