Imagine the stress and time it takes for these poor ladies to try and fit into today’s standards of beauty. How sad is it that humans have totally forgotten about the beauty of one’s characters or personality and is only focused on the outer beauty which has no commitment to anyone even with infinite plastic surgery.
I have Asian appearance, and... you know what, after I’ve watched these kind of transformations, I realize why people don’t trust my face is real. Most of these young women looked nice without makeup. At least, they have unique facial features. After applying makeup they all looked the same doll-face. There is nothing wrong in applying makeup to look as you want. However, it should be right to be able to go without makeup, too! Sometimes people experience too much pressure and cannot be considered beautiful unless they change their natural appearance (i.e. skintone, nose shape, eye colour, hair structure etc.) It is sad that toxic beauty standards are still too powerful in some countries/communities, pushing women and men to alter their natural features to fit in.
I think this is more popular amongst East and Southeast Asian girls. South Asian girls have natural sharp and defined features, so they don't really need makeup to boost their looks.
I think only a small percent of people do this though (maybe only for cosplay too) since I'm Asian and didn't even know this was a thing until today lol...

I'm not trying to say that what they're doing is right, but many, many people are somehow forced to do that because we can't deny that our society has some kind of beauty standards that we people have to fulfill in order to be called or seen as "beautiful" . it's actually very sad and I could imagine that these girls probably think "it's somehow better to be fake than to be called ugly."
