It feels good to be finally able to say that. 🙌 If a D now wants to drop me in a race they have to be willing to do something crazy to make it happen (or make me race The Muckle Yin). Thanks for watching. 🙌🙏
I checked your latest power efforts after these epic spirits and you are only 0.2 watts/kg shy in your 20-minute effort of being promoted to the C category. It feels nice to be promoted. However, it's humbling to go from leading to the back and start all over again. I am amazed at your progress in such a short time. Congratulations !!
Another fab effort! Well done!! I was shouting at the TV on the sprint.. "come on Ryan!!!" and then "Noooooo!!" when B.King came past you!! Really funny too with the sprint jersey effort 😂 Love you videos 😊👏
Great job Ryan. Glad to see you finally figured out that sprinting is all about high cadence. You're still a little on the low side so try only going up to 16. That will allow you to spin a little higher. That will allow you to hold those higher watts a little longer.
@@RyanCondon test it before you get in a race. Go out with a pace partner that riding at about 50-75% of your ftp. Let yourself warm up for about 5 minutes or so. Then let yourself drop back from the pace group. Once you get the distance warning start your spin up like you did in your last two sprints then tap up to 16 and go. Once you catch the group you're done. You can drop back to the pace group and repeat. This is how you practice sprinting.
Damn, i wanna go race now, but did Mt. Fuji yesterday and my legs need the rest :) Great work as always - i can smell that win, and i just hope you get it before you're bumped to Cat. C.
@@RyanCondon I found it to be harder than AdZ, because of the length of it. The gradients is much more manageable, but i had to use around 104 minutes, where i did AdZ in 71 minutes. Good workout none the less. :)
So close! Power up slightly wasted as you hit it and then 1 second later you were out front no draft to be had. But if you haven’t got a huge power advantage it all comes down to fractions of seconds to time it all just right, we’ve all sprinted too early or too late 🤦♂️ looking forward to the next episode 😁👍
It was because of this race, I learnt that I had a huge advantage on the decent that I wasted and needed to capitalise on. I hope you enjoy tomorrows. ;)
Ah I left a comment on your video yesterday saying that I must of raced you in a different one and here that race is! I was 3rd T.reardupeloton. I really tried to push it on that volcano everytime cause my sprint isn’t that great so I needed a smaller group. Good racing with you 👍👍
@@RyanCondon no not at all think you described the race and your plan really well and how it plays to your strengths. Hopefully I’ll catch you on one of the May races 👍👍
You are really getting stronger and stronger. It's great to compeet. That win will come soon! I guess you'll get bumped to cat c soon also. Than it all starts again. It keeps hurting, you just go faster
Dude, awesome video, thanks! Maybe do some sprint training blocks? Also I get uncomfortable when you let small gaps open up and get behind. That is extra watts that you have to put in, that take away from your sprint effort. Never (!) lose the draft of the group and never be at the front. Every small advantage will pay off to maximize your chances :)
Absolutely brilliant, that cap is doing wonders for your Zwift journey (peak up in my opinion). Soooo close and brilliant effort. That was just timing, the winner was 2 behind going into the finish. Also if you watch it close you'll notice they started on the power about 100m before you. Same course again and the crown will be yours 👌💪🏼💪🏼
So, podiums are a bit of a regular thing now! Ah, man. Thought that was in the bag. You played the sprint great. It's always a bit of a gamble, though; a strong rider can sit on your wheel and follow like King did here. You'll get it next time with moves like that. 💪🥈
Unlucky, that looked like it was going to be a huge win, I bet that man has massive legs. 0.3 yesterday and 0.35 today... No way does that look like a worse finish than yesterday, so close.
Weirdly I started at Zwift Christmas gone and was in D for about 4 weeks then got put straight in C? I can only stay with front pack for about 10mins then I’m cooked 😂😂.
Well done lad your getting there if you a tad later more on bridge you would of had him I would be interested in what you carb up on being a vegan as I am on the carnivore keep it up

So close. didn't do much wrong there other than going for sprint jersey :D it can be a tricky sprint finish that one you don't really want to lead them out but you dropped the guys in front it was just king had a strong sprint. Not sure if you were behind him you could of held his wheel in the draft but he looks new to zwift likely will be a C soon so no shame in 2nd there. next time 💪
So close Ryan. I'd say you started sprinting a little too late. You were catching them on the descent. If you'd started sprinting before hitting the flat you'd have been going a lot quicker as you passed them. They would have to hit big numbers to get up to speed and chase you down. You can't be far off now as you're close to being top of Cat D.
"i don't know why these riders head out so hard, if they're going to burn out " Which was exactly what you were doing until you learned the ropes! You might not be Cat C yet but you're now definitely too smug for Cat D. 😂 You took too long having a drink btw and got dropped. Faffing with the bottletop, you need a proper biberon. Oh and i think you're confused between the draft boost and the aero boost. You need to be in the pack for draft boost to do anything for you, you were out of the pack using yours... Should have listened to Nathan. Was a great video though....i find watching you more entertaining than the pros!

Physically I’d say you visually look more than capable of C or B races now… just need that training. Have you had a bike fit? I wouldn’t do anything you’re not comfortable with, but you like quite low saddle height wise (your legs look quite bent at the bottom of the power stroke) …. Might be some free watts there… but again don’t do anything not comfortable with… might be camera angle. Nice sprint watts. You will get that win… but you might get up revved to C first! Good stuff!
