This so awesome to watch. John who is running the pump is my son, he built his grandma a icf home. I learned so much on this process. I liked your tip on hanging things on the wall. Thank you!
I had followed your work on Lake Lot Build and was impressed. I am in the planning stage for an ICF home in GA, watch a lot of ICF videos, and you brought very good narration and clarity. I had to go back to make sure I heard you say you poured a 30' monopour wall. Congrats, but it seems you may be close to the experience vs. brass crossover point on that one. Looking forward to more videos.
We use a monopour method to pour our footings and walls at the same time. We have a certain mix we use for the footers and a certain mix we use for the walls. The footer mix starts at the consistency of water and sets quick to hold the weight of the wall pour. The wall mix has a lower slump, but still high enough to keep it moving down the entire wall. We do use concrete vibrators to help move the concrete along to harder to reach places, like below windows and so on! We have plenty of videos to come, and some will feature our pours!
Just found your channel. I'm nearly through the building permit process for my first ICF home here in the mountains of CA. I found it amazing that you used all dimensional lumber for your bracing on those tall walls. Well Done. I've been dreading buying or renting the bracing because it's so expensive. So my thinking about using strongback bracing for 8-9' walls shouldn't be a problem.
We would be happy to give you some information on our bracing system! It is lightweight and uses lumber to keep the walls straight, square, and plumb. The lumber is placed horizontally along the entire wall to achieve this. It allows us to pour a wall as tall as a 2x4 can go and also doubles as a scaffolding system. If you'd like actual information on what the system is, I'd be happy to email you some details!
We just purchased an ICF home and I am having issues hanging on a certain wall. I hammer in the nail and it won’t budge against something about an inch in - could that be the plastic I am hitting? It feels too hard to keep hammering. I’m so confused on how to properly hang on the walls in this house. 😢
Yes. The homeowners pay for the bracing materials and then the wood does actually get used to frame the interior of the house. So instead of only using it as framing materials, it serves another usage before.

Wonderful interview with the owner and her relationship with concrete. Well done!

It's like you were reading my mind. I was just wondering if my Walabot could see the plastic webs. That will make it super easy to find them.
Also, wondered about the mix you used with those tall walls and any vibration or consolidation?

With this much of wood for braising , you can frame half of house🙉
