Everyone is sleeping on S&M in the comments, like actually leaving it out of their review. I'll go ahead and say that it's definitely my personal favorite Metallica album. They took so many of their best songs and added an orchestra in the background, it just makes the entire thing feel so much more intense. For most of the songs, let's use the Master of Puppets as an example, the contrast between the metal and the orchestral background gave it an almost ethereal feeling, and ballads like Nothing Else Matters are just made all the more beautiful. Anyway, if you read this far you should listen to S&M, and in the meantime have a lovely day!
