  • The plaintiff claims his ex-girlfriend owes him money for a security deposit from when they were together. He also alleges that his ex stole his furniture, so he’s suing. The defendant claims she broke up with the plaintiff because he assaulted her. The defendant insists the furniture is in her name, and she never agreed to pay the security deposit.

Or he could have just told the company he was authorizing her to sign or put both names on it. I have seen instances where people ask third parties that don’t even live with them to hang at their house to receive a delivery. signed for things my name wasn’t on before.

I’m skeptical of that. Deliveries that require a signature typically just say has to be the signature of someone who opens the door at that address. It doesn’t have to be the same person whose name is on the order. He also could have put both of their names on the furniture order or told the furniture company he was making her an authorized signee. I can’t count how many times I signed for deliveries at my job and my name wasn’t ever on any orders. It was the name of whoever handled purchasing.

  • @SavicksterTheTrixter

This is where laws need to change- since all that furniture can cost more than an engagement ring, the gift needs to be classified as a CONDITIONAL gift.
He bought the furniture in presumption that they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. If they broke up, he should be entitled to it back.
It doesn't matter if her name is "on it"; he paid for it.

Nah. These people weren’t doing anything but playing house. I agree with Judge Judy that courts shouldn’t have to concern themselves with everyone who decides to shack up then gets upset if it doesn’t work out. I think he should go to the landlord and ask the deposit be refunded to him whenever she moves out since the money came from him.

  • @salihahwilliams1453

Just how the judge wanted to harp on the plaintiff for cracking ways and how a drug addict or ex drug addy is so slick he didn’t wanna acknowledge the game and slickness of the defendant. She got an apartment and furniture off the guy . Even though they wrestled for the phone I don’t think he put his hands on her fr and she just wanted a reason to kick him out so she can enjoy her “gifts”. Peep hoe she expressed how much he wanted to date her and she wasn’t too interested, seems to me she thought she found her a sucker and licked.
