I wouldn't say he's underrated for his time and place. Loved by many, hated by few, sells out arenas all across the globe, and has the respect of the greatest musicians in rock.
Such a cute interview... you could tell his true introvert senses were buzzing!! a centered interview, no corners for safety and people watching from all angles. PLUS STOOLS AS CHAIRS
I love how he just gets done talking about how weird life is when you get treated differently, and then her next suggestion is.. Hey lets go to the window where everyone will treat you differently than they would anyone else in real life.
I am not going to lie, I'm not the kind of person that would scream "I LOVE YOU!!!!" But I absolutely would be dying inside and probably faint if I met Trent just because he is such an influence on my life and I love his music, his mind, the way he talks, etc
It's funny how the one guy asks Trent a question at this time if him and Manson reconciled their relationship. Then Trent acted coy about it saying well we'll see what happens in the next week. A week after this interviewed aired Manson joined Trent on stage in NYC to play the last half of Starfuckers and The Beautiful People. Oh the memories.
@@showdown2006 yeah lol. I get weirded out when i see people comment about Manson and Trent because of what has came out about Manson but then I realize that those comments are from before all that.
Boston...10/19/18..Can't wait. My first NIN show was Boston...12/3/94..what a fucking ride. Props & all respect to one of the few the Masterminds of amazing music...
It's a shirt with the logo for the David Cronenberg movie "Crash". It's about people who are sexually turned on by car crashes. Weird movie but worth checking out.
Wonder what he thinks about that wildly diverse hip hop world now? Where every rapper is doing different stuff...no two rappers would be caught dead doing the same shit...yeah.. bet your ass I'm being sarcastic...
MindlessSelfGuitar You realize Dr. Dre worked on The Fragile, right? You're aware the Trent produced a rap album by Saul Williams? I hope you're joking.
so because he writes rock ( or a form of ) and enjoys old, honest rock as well, he's not allowed to enjoy other types of music where the honesty, now lacking in most rock today, is present? he's just looking for music with meaning and talent. playing guitar and drumming aren't the only forms of talent in music. besides. have you ever listened to pretty hate machine? give "down in it" a spin and tell me it doesn't have any rap or hip hop influences, lol.
He's such a gent. He doesn't like the adoration, but at the same time he doesn't want to be rude or ungrateful. A class act.
You can tell he's keeping all that cringe inside though. I would be VERY uncomfortable.
I wouldn't say he's underrated for his time and place. Loved by many, hated by few, sells out arenas all across the globe, and has the respect of the greatest musicians in rock.
And look where we are now. Now only is he a Rock/Industrial hero but a Legendary (sort of) composer of movies with Oscars.

tough times for trent back then but
look at him now!
It's amazing seeing Trent talk in 2000 of the musical climate. He seems to always have his eyes open as the years pass.

Granted, things have changed since then with the recent news regarding Manson.
@@augustusrobicheaux5160 yup this didn’t age too well lol

The fragility tour was so amazing. A perfect circle opened and played their whole first record before it was even out.
I can see why the fans outside weren't let in
Trent looks visibly uncomfortable at the end.
8:13 My reaction right there.
He's a genius and extremely underrated
when they go outside, it looked like he was answering questions to a horde of zombies who wanted to eat him. jesus, that looked uncomfortable.
2:50 is very well said
4:17 he's talking about the starfuckers inc video i think
or the manson appearance at msg

13 years later and I'm watching Letterman the other night and Dave Grohl is on and he calls Trent Reznor a genius.
i can smell the room
"ask me this in a few months from now and it might be a different story" and then he overdoses... talk about prophetic.
7:28 Trent looking so awkward here haha
Ignoranant crowd... poor Trent.
+Michelle Lydia Totally. I love you have two first names lol
I loved her in Hedwig!
And wasn't she on Short Bus? (which I highly recomment, it was an incredible film)
Love the Tshirt , im guessing some friendship with David Cronemberg from that time?
O wow, I had no idea Dre helped mix/create/produce Even Deeper
if anyone else is wondering, the interviewer is likely Sook-Yin Lee (Much Music).
shes in shortbus. google it
Damn sheeple be cray-zay!
7:00 omg shut up lol their screaming
8:00 Trent predicts the future with DR. DRE?!
At the end there, that's what I call Reznormania. Man I'd be ecstatic too though.
he really doesn't want to meet his fans
I too would be really uncomfortable if I went outside to a horde of people screaming at me😭 this interview in general seems really uncomfortable
Such a sexy beast..she's so luck to be talking to him :p
8:32 What the fuck is that question lmao like, what is he supposed to respond? So awkward
Trent
Trent is soooooo deep deep deep😆
Lmao Everyone wearing BLACK 7:16
1:22 is the sadess emo I have ever seen!
what shirt is he wearing
it says "CRASH" and has the 'crash-dummy logo'
It says on the back: "ARE YOU COMING?" ;)

Crash from 1996 film from David Cronenmberg
oh ho ho!!
Your shirt's answer: YES!!! :D
the fra-gee-leh
@showdown2006 Haha, I guess it didn't last too long after that!
Boy Trent Reznor sure seems a little FRAGILE here!! GET IT? BAM!
@Amouthfulofsin220 I mean 'recommend'. Oops.
Wonder what he thinks about that wildly diverse hip hop world now? Where every rapper is doing different stuff...no two rappers would be caught dead doing the same shit...yeah.. bet your ass I'm being sarcastic...
His adiction is obvious here... But a coulpe of years before total clean left
there wouldn't be that big of a fuss now a days for him
Gee Trent's probably like, "Stfu people!" In his mind.
Bad hair.
who is that hot asian babe interviewer?
your mom
God, music is doomed. .. So's humanity.
Trent just admitted to listening to hip hop and rap? tf is wrong with him?

+MindlessSelfGuitar Almost all of his songs are hip-hop inspired moron. 'Down in it' is also basically a rap song.
Hip Hop is great, don't limit your outlook on music.
You live up to your name, brother.
