I grew up in Oklahoma. was there for half my life. Not once did I ever see a tornado. Had one go over my house, could see debris flying through the sky, but never saw it touching down. I still wanna go storm chasing at some point in my life.
That's crazy, I think seeing the debris counts tbh. I live in Denver, CO and never have seen one that closely but have seen 3 from a distance; only one of those was actually in the city itself. June 24, 2015, knocked over and uprooted trees and ripped off some roofs so nothing too insane but still quite something to witness in my own town.

48:20 The ONE thing I wish this movie had done differently, is to linger on that hopeless moment in the street. There's a MOMENT when Tyler realizes he's going to die, and that he's taking Kate with him because he can't make her leave. That helpless agony is only a flash, but Glen Powell does SUCH a great job emoting it. But it's over so quickly that it took me twice watching it to even notice. Hurts my soul that it wasn't highlighted a little better.
I’ll never understand how Javi decided not only for Kate to get out and set up the sensor when he has a “full team,” but for them to be the team that…GETS IN FRONT of the tornado? With her trauma? I’m amazed she did it the second time.
I was thinking the same thing this man didnt consider for s second that she might freeze up since that TRAUMA dump she took in the last time they did it😂 but then she became such a savage that i get how he thought she could handle it
I was wondering the same thing, but I think it was because AHEAD is the hardest direction to get correct. Anybody can FOLLOW a tornado. But knowing where it's going... That's the hard part, and it's probably the part that he was saying he couldn't do without her.
Fun fact: Tyler's truck is supposed to be similar to the car owned by Reed Timmer and his cars, the Dominators. Currently, they're planning a new one called the Dominator 5. One of them was strong enough to intercept an EF4 tornado with winds as strong as 290 mph. One of the tornados was the 2013 El Reno tornado that killed the Twistex storm chasers and was in the same town as the final tornado in the film.
I lived in a town in Mississippi called Rolling Fork (if you know, you know) and I can say personally, nighttime tornadoes definitely will sneak up on you, especially in rural areas. You can’t always trust that there will be a siren or a phone message to warn you. That’s what happened to us in Rolling Fork. And the sound they make, people say it’s like a train, I’ll tell you, it’s a thousand times worse. And that sound stays with you forever. It’s a mix between a waterfall and a roar.
Probably should note this actually under-represents the strength of tornadoes, the windshield wipers on Tylers truck shouldnt be able to move when near that final tornado. Realistically the truck would already be several hundred feet in the air orbiting the thing.
Driving into a tornado? "Man she's never done shit like this before" Bruh, she was literally inside of an EF5 In the first ten minutes of the movie. lmao
This is true but not on purpose that EF5 snuck up on them before they had the chance to even know it lmao but Kate is a badass either way she is about that life
Although this is a little bit of an over the top representation of storm chasing, it certainly is the best Hollywood depiction of what chasing is like. They absolutely nailed the excitement us chasers feel when we're out there.

I have lived in tornado alley all my life. I even currently live in a city that was hit by an E5 in 2011, killed over 160 people. I didn’t live here at the time but close enough to know people affected by it. While we take storms serious, life here ain’t so bad. We even played this at the drive-in theater for 6 weeks straight cause everyone wanted to go see it outside under the sky. 🤣 We usually know when there’s potential for storms to turn severe or chances of tornados. There’s never a guarantee of a tornado until there’s rotation and it’s touched down - but by this point we usually know it’s near and what direction it’s heading. Yea we definitely have to have a plan in place but can usually get to shelter. That’s not always the case though depending on where it forms, so it can be scary. But when you live it, it’s just normal life. Also, rent and mortgage is not cheaper here…at least not in comparison to our cost of living. 😅 New subscriber, loved your reaction. 😂

AND how did you not mention that KILLER Amanda Lambert song at the end!! I haven't listened to country much in years, but that song singlehandedly got me back into the genre and I listen to the Twisters soundtrack almost every day now
That song was so good snd the soundtrack overall took the movie for me from like an 8 to a 9.5 when they were playing “Arkansas” by Chris Stapleton i about died that song goes hard

Great movie. What's annoying, though, is that little fakeout at the end, when they show you "directed by", and there's still a segment playing pre-credits that kind of acts as epilogue, and quite a few reactors miss it, thinking the movie already ended.
I'm agreed with you that Scott is a hater, because he don't know like Javi or Tyler knows Kate. Plus, also, little fun fact: that scene where Tyler walk into the rain with his cowboy hat, because the iconic thirst trap almost never made it into the movie. According to Twisters' director Lee Isaac Chung, he was planning on cutting the scene, he said in his words: "I almost trimmed that shot," he told Entertainment Weekly. "But the funny thing is there were people on my editing staff who told me, 'You cannot trim that scene.' They almost rioted." But, thankfully, he kept the scene in the film. 😏😅🤠🌪 Overall, I'm really like the movie, and I agreed with everything that you said, because you on point. 😌

The "She's a BEAST" is so funny - like genuinely I don't normally like girlbossy characters, because their arcs seem shallow, and in the end they all "realize" that they're apparently perfect just as they are (which is always the same trope of 1. girlboss, 2. commanding/demanding, and 3. doesn't have to care about what anyone else thinks) and it defeats the purpose of character growth as a whole for them. But not with Kate. Kate was able to be a girlboss but still be giggly and feminine at the beginning. Then a traumatic event happened to her, and she changed drastically. When she's called back out into the field, she doesn't really want to/doesn't know what she's doing anymore (morally). She has a moment of self reflection, realizes she was going about things all wrong, and changes for the better. It's why I love seeing her face her fears and have the ability to be a girlboss, because she actually realized she had to change in order to become one. This right here, THIS is how you do a female lead. Pay attention, filmmaking industries.

It’s an indirect sequel. Kate and her team were attending the same college that Jo got the grant from to build Dorothy. That’s why they have Dorothy 5- when Dorothy 4 was successful (actually wasn’t it technically Dorothy 3 because of how they got loaded on the truck?), the school fully funded Jo and Bill’s research. Stands to reason they built more Dorothy’s, and Dorothy became standard equipment for collecting tornado data from then forward. Fast forward 28 years and numerous classes have deployed Dorothy 5 successfully, knowing that it has to be anchored to work. Kate’s team botched their deployment and lost Dorothy 5.
Yeah volcanos a good disaster movie, Dantes peak, the day after tomorrow, even san andreas as off the wall as it was, still a fun popcorn flick. Twister is a favorite of ours around here, so I really really hoped this one would be good, was so happy when it was Iol.
HATED the music... movie wasn't very inventive either. Original is much grittier & better. This shouldn't have had this much romance. Watch the movie SPEED (made by Jan de Bont, the director of the original Twister)... that's how you do it.
Twisters wasn't really that good because A The Storyline was terrible and the Movie scraps suck B the Meen Villain character even though he is kind of a good an bad guy Tyler owns makes The most stupid decisions especially Stupid Choices like sending off Fireworks in a Tornado which that's a stupid idea ever made C and lastly is The Spicer effects of the Tornadoes because of the look of them they look like Shit because they are not all that realistically because in the original Twister they are Much more threatening realistically more terrifying God like Nightmare and they also have what actual Twisters should have THE GROWLS which is what Tornadoes should have sounds like in both Real life and the Movie but in The Remake Twisters which is not a Sequel or in the same Unives in there is a big difference The Twisters doesn't even look or sounds like actual Tornadoes because all they are is it's just winds which that is so stupid but I did not mind the pup country Songs even though they were actually Bad especially in a Twister Film but I didn't made the Meen Thme song Ain't No Love In Oklahoma I'm not really into Country music all that much though The Actess from where the crawdads sing Ms Daisy Edgar-Jones she was so good and beautiful in that movie she even more adorable and beautiful as ever in this movie in she is my only reason why I'll love Twisters but everyone and anything else in this movie SUCK

Oh i cant even imagine, ive stood in the eye of a hurricane as it passed over my town and it sureal so i cant imagine actively chasing such a thing

Tornadoes because of the look of them they look like Shit because they are not all that realistically because in the original Twister they are Much more threatening realistically more terrifying God like Nightmare and they also have what actual Twisters should have THE GROWLS which is what Tornadoes should have sounds like in both Real life and the Movie but in The Remake Twisters which is not a Sequel or in the same Unives in there is a big difference The Twisters doesn't even look or sounds like actual Tornadoes because all they are is it's just winds which that is so stupid but I did not mind the pup country Songs even though they were actually Bad especially in a Twister Film but I didn't made the Meen Thme song Ain't No Love In Oklahoma I'm not really into Country music all that much though The Actess from where the crawdads sing Ms Daisy Edgar-Jones she was so good and beautiful in that movie she even more adorable and beautiful as ever in this movie in she is my only reason why I'll love Twisters but everyone and anything else in this movie SUCK
