"As a person who is black 365 days of the year.."
LMAO Boze I'm dead
Including 2016 and 2020 tho? lel
@ she doesn't look bi racial, i would've never thought
Lookin white asf
@@niadaniels1044 🙄 and your point is?
Ultra Violet Just because you’re biracial doesn’t mean you ain’t black lmao
I’m part Asian but I’m still Asian... and I look like it too, so socially I’m treated like one
If Bart Joe David or Steve was here, it wouldn't be about Looks.
It will be about Where is Sweden and what type of Cheese do they have.
probably something about Ikea as well
Or how hot she was, then they feel the need to ask the age again, just to make sure it's not werid they call her sexy, hot, etc.
😂😂😂😂😂
Åseda ost AMIRITE MA FELLOW SWEDES
@Official Red Trailer
Yeah they would do that but it would be funny.
Im from Sweden myself and I think that the main argument on the Emma hall berg one is that she is banking on posing to be black, she got a contract with a Swedish makeup brand doing an line for people with darker skin tone (the line resembled fenty beauty a lot) while another actually black Swedish RUclipsr lost her contract for calling out their only white makeup line
nasrin hashemiazar they didn’t mention that in the video which would’ve changed everyone’s perspective
That changes everything
Oh shit
@@Brider0207 OP JUST said there's a BLACK Swedish RUclipsr. Can you read? Who's racist, now? 🤦🏾♀️
And having a brand of makeup that only caters to white people is weird and in poor taste nowadays
@Some Girl don't try to strawman your way into this. You don't have an argument and you know it.
Lmao, please, she knows exactly what she's doing.
What is that? Selling her body?
@@condcrit8313 Your condescending comment is amusing.

Lmfao
Mr. Quixotic she knows there is a market for this look on Instagram. She is literally making money for wearing blackface
It is a big thing here in sweden tho, blackfishing. Here's the thing, she lied about getting darker naturally. She got shoutouts from "beautiful black girls" instagram pages, she never said that she wasn't black. She just said thanks or wrote a heart.
if a black girl got a shoutout from a white page are they supposed to be like "nah im black"
@@c_m00 You sound mad dumb rn
Exactly. She’s a fraud
@@missshannonsunshine i'd still Ultra smash
@@c_m00 yeah just like Rashida Jones got compliments for being tan from that ignorant interviewer. You don't just let people mislabel you, also she is trying to look biracial, not black.
i'm generally not offended but I think that the main argument is just black people are being discriminated against for being black and can't do anything about being black and then you have people who just pretend to be black but they don't have to deal with any of the things that come with being black because they aren't. So I think that's where it comes from, not saying that the girl was pretending to black, I don't know, maybe she was maybe she wasn't but I think that's why it's seen as offensive.
Thats definitely the main issue. Because someone pretending to be black can go back to their whiteness and bathe in their white privilege when shit goes down while black americans don't have that luxury. Its unfortunate. If it wasn't for racism, I think no one would care if ppl where dressing the way other cultures dress etc. It really just comes down to racism in this country. 100% agree with your comment.
Nia Richardson that and im mainly upset that she thinks im stupid enough to believe thats her skin tanning naturally like no honey boo boo its not im not that stupid
@@Foofoocuddlypoops19 'white privilege' Okay. She not even American lol
Nia Richardson 💯Borrowing from a culture that deals with oppression so much is just adding insult to injury. Like dark skin & kinky hair can keep black ppl from getting/keeping jobs but other ppl can wear it to the club or music festival for fun & go back to looking white for their 9-5. They wanna have fun with things non white ppl tend to hide to do well in the world and they don’t even have the decency to fight against the discrimination we face for it, smh.
@@Foofoocuddlypoops19 lmao "white privilege" nice myth
I think the problem people have with this is that she can flip flop when she feels it is convenient for her. And also the history of black face is hurtful to many.
Even then I don't even see black face as offensive, it's the way it's portrayed. Make yourself darker skinned if you want, although you won't understand our problems, just don't give us a worse name.
@@New_Nova If anyone is doing black face it is offensive. Back in the day white men and women painted their faces black and portrayed black people to be ''ghetto'', ''loud'', etc. Either way the culture and meaning behind blackface is offensive. Even light-skin black dudes, put on darker skin blackface and they portray themselves as "hood." Either way it's offensive.
Interesting 🤔 its not “black face” blackface was used to make fun of black people this is just someone posing as a black person
@@ttbaby159 That's what I meant, the portrayal is what grinds my gears, but in this case she really did nothing. I don't understand why people are so angry about this case in particular, she did nothing I see a offensive.
@@jewel8375 Exactly my point. It is not used to show us in a bad way.
Okay so the main issue with the Swedish girl that I think the girls missed was that the girl was darkening her skin tone bc she knew it poppin right now . She knew that she would get attention from looking racially ambiguous and pretty . She’s benefiting from trying to look black/Hispanic when she’s a FULL white girl and that’s not right . On her posts she’s being sponsored therefore making money from her posts .That’s why she’s getting heat for it . Even tho I love the girl cast they kinda missed the big issue with this one. 🤷🏽♀️
Yeah dont think thats a good argument, theres really no good argument against cultural appropriation
💯
Neli G so what is your race/ancestry because you sorta look white passing to me
This!! The worst is black people are still fighting to get that popularity and all these other ethnicities are claiming it. Like, how someone actually black 365 and they get barely any love, and someone who "tans well" (bullshit) is given hella praise.
What's really frustrating is even if this girl didn't tan the diddly out of her skin (spray or UV) she's STILL popular because she does have nice facial features. She did not have to be this way.
ikr, It's not a trend to look ethnic. Same thing the Kardashians are doing and JK didn't acknowledge it.
I’m kind of in shock that one of their main arguments were “but she looks good” lmao, so because shes pretty and did a “good job” posing as a black person when she’s not, it’s now okay?????
damdoris ok but nobody says anything when black women wear weaves because they "look good"
@@etr2963 Yo, that's different. Black women over here losing jobs because their natural hair is "too messy" or "unprofessional" It's gotten better over the past decade with the portrayals of natural hair in media becoming more common, you know, white people are getting used to it more. It's not appropriation it's assimilation.
@@etr2963 When black woman wear weaves, alot of people tell us that we need to wear out hair natural . If we left out the house with our hair natural, they tell us to were weaves. We also wear weaves and shit as a protective hair style. Even white woman and woman in general wear wings and extensions and shit.
@@Deaths_Beloved i never understood ppl like that.... If ANYTHING it looks fucking weird if black ppl didnt have their natural curls. Whenever i see a black women with straight blonde hair i think it looks too much. If i see a black girl with her natural curls it looks very fitting. I dont understand...
O no it's not ok.
My main issue with the whole thing as a black kid myself (and I've looked at the thread of tweets calling out a painfully large number of white women making themselves substantially darker) is that some of these women are people who want to be black but don't want the consequences of being black. They want to look like a beautiful black woman but don't want to deal with the consequences of being black, especially if they're American -- they don't want the racial profiling, the racism and discrimination when you're just minding your own business, or anything negative that comes with having that skin tone. They just want the beauty without the consequences, and that's what upsets me.
People are mad because if you're black 365 days a year, you get called all kinds of negative things, but being black on anyone other than a black person is instantly beautiful and praised.
Do you think anybody goes through a year in their life where they don't get called negative shit? You're right you have it the hardest in the world :( poor african americans. Professional victim syndrome.
I’ve literally seen you go on every comment by a black person where they are articulating exactly why they feel negative about the topic. You need to just say you don’t like black people and move tf along. That’s like if you were talking about something that offended you and a person who’s different from you tried to invalidate your feelings. Nobody is playing the victim why are simply pointing out double standards.
anu meu How the fuck is she being a victim? She is speaking about issues true to her. It’s crazy how nobody even tries to understand
@@anumeu8549 stop gaslighting
@@c_m00 Is that supposed to be an excuse to not better the lives of others? Do you even logic? Lmao "everyone has it hard so just deal with it" instead of "let's solve these issues and make shit better for everyone".
Feel like the black girl kept it PC because she was outnumbered. Even my white friends saw why this was weird lol
Great, so you speak on behalf of black people and your white friends speak on behalf of whites. LMFAO!
Being "PC" would look very different than how they all acted. Being "PC" is getting offended by something that causes absolutely no harm.
Sydney J nothing was gonna happen to her if she didn't keep it pc
Am I the only one who thinks it’s bullshit that she said that she naturally tan like that and just get that dark
Edit: I’ve never gotten this many likes lol
astro kiid there are people like that so honestly you can’t believe everything you see or read. You can only use your own self judgment on that
astro kiid you got to kidding. You don't darker by 10 shades in the sun. ESPECIALLY in Sweden lmaooo. She is wearing blackface
If she said she from the Middle East I probably believe her but gurl you are from Sweden i don’t think they even had sun 😹😹😹😹😹😹
astro kiid nope. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, BUT then I paid attention to her hair and hairstyles 💀 trying to “lay her edges” like an African American girl sold me lol she’s full of shit. Shes trying to look black or mixed with black on purpose
I can see what she means, because I am Mexican and Asian so I tan very dark and I get very light during Summer and Winter. Sometimes my hair even changes color during the winter from dark brown ,almost Black, to light brown. I have two very different colors of Foundations for both seasons.
These ladies missed the whole point. Went right over all of their heads.
wee een the racists have jumped out of the comments
Its because tiff never reports the FULL news and important details, which change everything
@@altervee8603 i can see why it's harmful, it stereotypes a certain race to have certain traits. like a typical asian has to look like this, have monolids and everything. i've been told i don't look like a typical asian, but like.. i'm 100% asian, what else am i supposed to look like. why is having double eyelids not an "asian" look? because of people perpetuating stereotypes like these
India Shanté not coming for you or anything but,,, what opportunities is she taking?
Their like defense for them is they look pretty they look bomb, like no? Even if they look good doing it it can be seen as appropriation or racist
Nikki is exaggerating it. Majority of the people are not going to come for you for wearing hoops or braids.
I think Nikki was only half serious there. Lol
You keep supporting this outrage culture and they will.
I wore a head piece and was told I was culturally appropriate if India (even though it’s seen as fashion there and not something sacred). I do t think it’s an exaggeration cause it happens all the fucking time.
I actually fully agree with Nikki. People do that all the time. Kim K. had braids and she got comments like ''Braids are for black people'' and ''That's cultural appropriation''. There was a guy harassed at a collage for having dread locks, and a girl went up to her assaulting him and saying ''Why are you appropriating my kind, those aren't for WHITE people''. The worst of all. Braids or dread locks arent for black people, and they are not ''invented'' by black people. They came NATURALLY around the globe, they just seem more common in African culture.
I love you guys but very disappointed in this video. Emma Hallberg is taking sponsorships and products that would have been given to women of color. For example, she was promoting a highlighter that would look great on people of color but had it been her natural skin tone, would not be visible at all. She is also given hair products to promote that is meant for black womens hair but bc she uses that cheap, unnatural and unnecessary trick of braiding it every night before bed, Hallberg can achieve that look, tricking companies and selling a product to her black follows that will never work for her. So what could’ve gone to you, Boze, was given to this white girl posing as a black girl. Secondly, this is just a fad for her and can take it off at any time of her life. Boze said it perfectly when she (lmao) said “as a person who is black 365 days of the year”. Eventually, the fad will end and she, along with other black posers, will remove their silicon breasts, butts, and lips and revert to being white and move on with their lives.
So people are essentially jealous she's making money. Ok
@Honey Osprey Blackface costume? get the fuck out, that is not blackface you offended fuck, secondly anyone should be allowed to promote any makeup product regardless of the color of that product or their own skin, saying anything else is simply racist.
@@TheDarkie12 lmao makeup products are all about skin color. You can't "I don't see color" yourself out of that one, foh. People like you are hilarious with your illogical "calling out racism is the real racism" bs
@@preettyE Nice strawman, I'm not saying i don't see color, I'm saying i see the color and it doesn't matter which one it is because saying white people can't use darker shades is racist.
"People like you are hilarious with your illogical "calling out racism is the real racism""
He said "black peoples jobs/money" as if they have a right to it above anyone else, that's racist . So if you think he's calling out racism that says a lot about you.
Man I wish they knew about her stealing sponsorships.
as a black male this whole video pissed me off, it's disrespectful because she is impersonating black people and culture to gain recognition without facing any of the stigma, i've never seen a mexican girl in my life (referring to the 'she looks mexican' comment) but she looks exactly like all black or biracial girl i've seen in the uk for example, don't down play it and say it for what it is, blackface, and before you say it's about me, it's not, we get stereotyped and stigmatised for being born into a colour and they wear it for fashion and not one of you said that was wrong, come correct
keonedk you’re bare salty for no reason and the girl even said she just tans easily and her hair naturally curly. nobody in the uk looks down on black people infact most people in our generation are different races 😂
@@altervee8603 by telling people to stop wearing blackface he's actually "pulling himself up by his bootstraps" not being a victim. He'd be a victim if he said nothing and complained about being attacked. dipshit

They don’t go through our struggles.
@@B5girl2342 why are you trying to be Asian?
I’m sorry but y’all are making light of this. The same things black women get hated on or get talked down on are the same things lighter skinned women are now doing. Only difference is they get praised for it by calling it inspiration from a different culture. Look at how many black little girls that are being clowned for having darker skin and yet when Becky does it, it’s cute. To hell with that. Yet again, y’all can’t sympathize because you haven’t been through what we have been through
yeah you're such a victim man, you're totally right. you're totally standing up to the man.
esi obeng I’m sorry, I’m just asking to clarify. However there are 2 Latina and 1 Asian and 1 filipino on the video... are you saying they don’t go through discrimination as well? Just probably in a different form. Because I’m Hispanic and I’ve been discriminated before.
here we go with the victim mentality.
@@jobiquin not like Black people, Blacks are hated all over the world, even Latinos treat us like shit.
As a black woman,17 and in highschool. I deal with dicks everyday. I don't get hated on for being dark, having curly hair,or plump lips. Nobody cares. Black is hot right now. White isn't the only thing considered beautiful anymore. The most racist comment I've gotten was about having skin that was "too dark" and even then that was just 1 person. I don't think it's very common that people look down on black features anymore. Even for me, living in a majority white city.
I love JKN and the all girl cast but as a person of color, I wasn’t happy with what was said but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
EDIT: Sorry that was my mistake I didn't specify what I meant by person of color. I completely disregarded the fact that majority of the cast ARE women of color, I apologize. I am mixed, Black & Puerto Rican, so I was focused more on the perspective of being African American and hearing their comments.

6mmMayhem Lool at which point did she speak on your behalf? Man y’all need comprehension skills.
iCShandra I agree. I really don’t think they should do topics like these that are specifically about black people and their experiences without more than one black person on the cast. They have strong personalities and tend to overshadow their guests and in these cases they really aren’t equipped to give commentary on these things because they’re not black.

@@SuckerfaceInVid12 Yeah, but I'm not black. I only complain when it needs, not 24/7
At what point did I ask you if you were black? Is that supposed to mean something to me? Not sure what the logic is behind complaining about another person complaining, but it must get pretty exhausting for you.
She wants to fit in CLEARLY
How do they not see that the issue is because she can "look black" and receive praise, and in many places black people are often discriminated or put down for their black features as well as her being able to take the best of both worlds and not deal with the other issues that black people face today and bear the history of blacks in the united states
Although I do see their point of "where is the line of inspiration and appropriation" Also, the latina hoops and other things such as some Asian features aren't the same as black culture and features because there is little struggle behind it, so it can't be compared. (btw to dismiss the bias, I'm person of Latin and Asian origin so I'm Asian, white, and a super tiny % black)

I wasn’t too offended but what I don’t understand is why geo is trying to defend her so hard?
Geo I think is just fed up with PC culture and letting her feelings guide her. Now, people like her and Bart just fight against anything that even resembles social justice without thinking through the logic behind it. Funny thing is, the "feeling and emotions" that they are annoyed by are the same "feelings and emotions" that they use to get annoyed by things like this
Because it's true, people now a days call everything 'appropriation'
Like I literally just saw a video talking about James Charles appropriating drag queens like ??? Wtf what do you even mean?!
And it's time someone speaks on a real level because it's so ridiculous and people are making so much out of nothing
@@MadMax-us9ih You can't appropriate drag queens. That actually doesn't work especially as a gay man, so whoever said that doesn't know how appropriation works. Also, drag queens appropriate all sorts of cultures. There is an ongoing debate about it in the community. Also, appropriation is a big deal because it is closely tied to racism and colonialism. It's cool to call out appropriation when you see it and actually know what it looks like, but a lot of people don't. The 1st girl was appropriating. She is actively marketing herself as a black woman whether or not she says it. If it looks like a duck...she knows what she's doing, the 2nd however...it's a whole transracial mess. Honestly, I think they both edited the pics to look a certain way, but I don't actually know. The pic of girl 1 applying makeup and the insta pic don't add up. And she could've changed her tune because she got caught. I don't know, though.
D 3 I’m a black female and the main reason people are upset with the Swedish girl is first she lied about being that tan and second it feels like she’s trying to be/ look like a woman of color and some will admire her inspiration but some will say it’s offensive
She always foes that shit
i always enjoy seeing the racists come out of the woodwork under the comments of these kinds of videos.
Yep. I tend to be appreciative if I see a person of a different race than mine is appreciative of the things in my culture. I usually fail to see how something is racist unless it is extremely obvious and was done in poor taste or with low effort.
they never fail
Al3jandr0101 well the girl is obviously trying to emulate black culture; the darkening of her skin is extreme and she blatantly copied black hairstyles, i don’t agree with it at all. fake tan is one thing, but she literally is doing blackface.
Al3jandr0101 Black people don’t appreciate appropriation because it’s not okay for someone to be able to enjoy all of the aspects of another’s culture without receiving the same backlash/repercussions as that ethnicity. The girl can simply wipe off her darkened skin and take out her braids, and continue to enjoy the privileges of being white. Black people, however, have to constantly face their struggle. I’m not going to freak out over someone wearing black hair or tanning their skin but I believe it is wrong and I don’t appreciate it at all.
i don't get it are they saying blackface and yellowface is ok if you look good?
phan40 they are saying do what you want as long as it’s not hurting anyone basically
they're kinda dense i don't think they realize why it's so bad and that makes me kinda disappointed? especially the yellowface like geo totally dismissed the actual issue. and the whole thing about being offended, ofc not everyone will be offended but those who do see something wrong will obviously voice their opinions i don't get what's wrong with that?? they just want everyone to shut up i guess
essentially yes
phan40 yep
That's what it feels like
Sad to say but Boze you added nothing to the conversation in terms of the problem with "black fishing". David would have added so much more.

It wasn’t just Geo
These opinions are interesting, however, one of the counter-arguments is that for a person to wreak the aesthetic and/or pop cultural benefits of resembling another ethnicity is disrespectful because - sure, they can wear the brown skin for Instagram likes, but they can also take it off for a job interview, before they drive through a conservative neighborhood, or before they know they will encounter police officers. That person can still receive the racial privilege in small and large negotiations and choose when they do and do not want to be persecuted. Indubitably, there are members of disenfranchised racial groups that are black, brown, and tan 365 days of the year and do not have the luxury of using makeup wipes to alter their race, and are made subjects to worse schooling, worse job opportunities, and less likely to succeed. Opinions can always go too far like not being able to wear hoop earrings or certain hairstyles but please take this perspective into consideration.
It's very clear why it's such an offensive thing. It's the perfect definitive image of life isn't fair. Of the fact that some people were just given advantages that they didn't have to work for while others have to work for the same advantages. Nobody likes the unfairness of life. But even if everyone just stayed within their racial stereotypes & lived PC lives, people will find something else to be offended about because life isn't fair. That's why idc bout black face or cultural appropriation. I know life isn't fair, but I also know they're just having fun looking different than what they look like and aren't trying to harm anyone. It's not like they're doing skits like those cartoons back in the day with the charcoal black characters with bright red sausage lips that act stupid, cause a ruckus & eat watermelon all day
I must be in the minority here as a black person because I really just don't care what other people do.
Someone wants to look black? Cool, if it makes them happy, why not
You guys gotta stop trying so hard to care about everything and get upset over these things that have virtually zero effect on anyone, the only thing that does is make yourselves depressed and pessimistic about everything
Avery S. I mean if someone wants to be a different skin color you cant really shame that cuz you wouldn’t shame a transgender would you? I mean they in theory “appropriate” male or female culture, are trying to change something that they’ll never biologically be, and they’re benefiting from being the other sex, and with all this in todays society we wouldn’t shame them. Theres just too many coincidences in the process to ignore and ya’ll cant shame her for this with the same logic everyone uses for transgenders.

Weak counter argument. If anything, you could argue by popularizing the dark skin look, it would lower the bias against dark skinned people in a variety of social scenarios. Although, even without that, it is still a bit weak of an argument. If you look at STEM careers, companies are desperate to have minorities in their working environment. Remember James Damore? He's the guy that got fired for giving requested feedback on why Google lacks diversity. Despite the fact that Google is a massively liberal company with multiple diversity departments. He claims Google isn't massively racist or sexist, but rather these demographics are less likely to get interested in STEM for a variety of reasons.
congratulations to missing the whole point
Smh....as an African American woman, this entire video is frustrating. And I’m slightly disappointed in Boze. Y’all just don’t get it. African American women are belittled and hated for natural born features but when other people seek to recreate our features or skin tone or styles that we are known for (positive and negative) it is extremely frustrating. But I digress. Most will see us voicing our frustration as “overreacting” or “speaking for those who aren’t offended.”
Ugh. Whatever ladies
That's right, we do see you as overreacting and speaking on behalf of those who do see this as a positive form of appreciation. Y'all just don't get how much the rest of the fucking world has bigger problems and you hating on anyone bridging the gap between us aren't helping at all.
So shouldn't you be flattered that someone who isn't black wants to look like you? Smh. The "glass half empty" attitude has spread like a plague these days.
@@6mmMayhem Honestly at this point I've kinda just accepted that its a your problem for all those that claim black women are belittled and hated for their natural born features. I think that's the problem people has in this video, that the jk cast just isn't capable of seeing that. And neither am I. I didn't grow up with that, I know others even black female friends who I've asked and said themselves that they can't understand that statement. Not to say that off a hearsay that makes it an invalid problem. But its not a problem for people who don't think it or see it themselves. People say that just because its not going on around you doesn't mean its not happening, which is true. But just because its going on around you doesn't mean its a widespread epidemic is my point. With that being said, who the fuck cares what anyone else thinks. Be yourself, and let this random chick be herself.
Zidan Mozumder I was 🤷🏾♀️. I thought she looked bomb she wasn’t mocking i wasn’t offended. She simply admired the natural features some black women have and recreated it that’s it. She’s beautiful in my opinion with or without the “brown skin color”.

Ardabyss that’s so ignorant
GRB it isn’t ignorant, you can’t stop people from doing what they want. You can reprimand them but they’ll come up with excuses to continue doing what they like. It’s ignorant to believe that we have the power to change someone fully in a matter of moments
Even if her intentions weren’t to look “black”. I do think it’s her responsibility to communicate to her followers and to the black girls pages/mixed girls pages/natural hair pages who were reposting her pictures on Instagram that she was white. Her saying “I never said I was black” is a cop out because she obviously loved the attention her posts were getting through those pages. If she was upfront from the beginning that she’s a white girl from Sweden who loves to tan and have curly hair, she could have avoided all the “blackface” accusations.

Honestly I feel like Boze wasn't comfortable really explaining what the real problem is. These women arent really getting to the issue that the girl in the video is trying to be another race.
The biracial experience is never going to mirror the experience of someone who is predominantly of one race. Older biracials like Lenny Kravitz and Jordan Peele seem to "get it" a little better, because they came of age during or just after the "one drop" era.
it’s so evident that sometimes they have no idea wtf they be talking about. smh
Period. Boze's whitewashed ass needs to go.
I actually agree with them in a lot of their points here though. There's no real instance you can honestly point out that sounds way out there at all. They brought in both the outsider perspective and the perspective of their own cultures being in that same position. As a Mexican-American, I couldn't care less if a white boy started dressing like a Cholo or wanted to drink Modelos on the weekends or drink and eat our food. I wouldn't mind if he wore the more ethnic clothing as his way of flossin or showcasing his appreciation. Same with a female doing the same. The point they make is just almost objectively true in that a small very vocal minority that gets offended (case being people like you I supposed) thinks that their opinion or stance is speaking for all people they think they represent. Kind of proving that point at least. Majority seem to show it's not a big deal and honestly it's not. Lol.
A lot of Hispanics/latinos have faced a lot of hardships both old and new (just look at the news for the new it's always there), but I've honestly not really met a lot of folks that have been offended by anyone taking in our culture at all. Like.... at all. The once in a while snowflakes come in but they leave as fast as they sprout. There's nothing really wrong, it's the people that demonize anything and everything to make themselves feel special for being of said group. Period.
Pushpop LoC
You're Mexican, not black, so you wouldn't fully comprehend the reasons why people would be irritated. Blacks have no choice but to be black. Everyone wants to be black until they have to face the adversities that comes with being black. She's able to benefit when it suits her, but is also able to switch right back to being white. I kid you not, there have been instances where black women have been told their natural hair texture is not suitable for a work place, and they need to "tame it". She's receiving brand deals for being "black" when in fact she isn't. It's fucked up!

People say black people play the overplay the victim card because they do. Guess what: *life is hard for everyone.* The difference is that "successful blacks" keep fighting through repeated failures over-and-over again when they try to better themselves, until they overcome those failures; "successful people" fight through repeated failures over-and-over again when working to better themselves until they find success. Unsuccessful people of all colours are too scared of the risk of failure, want to play it safe, and *never* try to improve themselves, so they've never even failed 1/10 as many times as the successful people have. *Successful people have failed more times than unsuccessful people have even tried.* People say Blacks overplay the victim card because they don't realize that *everyone else around them* has worked on and failed many things over and over again, growing better after every failure and success.
When people grow up and realize that *the people who work tirelessly to better themselves in every way to be successful* still aren't successful after many years, but are working there incrementally, they'll realize that "I'm unsuccessful *just because I'm black"* diminishes everyone else's ACTUAL lived experience of having a tough life even though they work so hard, and even though they aren't black. People who realize life is tough as shit for everyone will be supportive of the girl for getting attention and receiving brand deals, *because to get that far is fucking rare,* whether you're black or not. Professional victims who believe life is tough *only* for them because of their skin colour will be vindictive of her.
You're not down where you are *JUST* because you're black; sure, it may account for a small factor, but the larger more primary factor is just that *life is hard.* All the "micro-aggressions" victimised blacks are focusing on really aren't the bigger problems in their lives. They really aren't. Micro-aggressions take a lot less work and impact them to a far lesser extent than the underlying fundamental problems affecting their lives, and if they'd address these larger more fundamental problems they would completely eliminate any power these micro-aggressions would hold over them.
That's the wisdom all wealthy Black people have, and why they can't relate to the victimhood mentality. See professional athletes, musicians like Kanye West, older black people with good homes & careers, etc. *None* of the successful black people would condone the victimhood mindset, even if they held it in the past: they've learned since that problems are always going to be in your way, unless you actively work on a solution and overcome these problems, *because they themselves have overcome their problems and achieved success by working on solutions, not problems;* because living in the first world, *you* have the freedom and tools to better yourself: *use them.* It's like bodybuilding: either put in dedicated work and get results, or half-ass things only to complain later when you get no results. All the "successful Blacks" worked tirelessly toward their goals: all the "unsuccessful Blacks" half-ass things, resign in defeat and complain. "Successful blacks" keep fighting through repeated failures over-and-over again when they try to better themselves, until they overcome those failures; "successful people" fight through repeated failures until they find success. Unsuccessful people of all colours are too scared of trying to improve themselves, so they've never even failed half as many times as the unsuccessful people have.
TLDR; We are more of a meritocratic society than a racist society.

The point is people want to be Black but don’t want to face the consequences and if you’re not actually Black, you never have to. The reason this girl is not getting a pass is because she said her skin gets that dark naturally when she’s in the sun. You don’t get THAT dark naturally, and her entire body was that color. So I know she’s lying. She also lied about her hair naturally being that “curly”

Cultural appreciation vs cultural appropriation= one is straight up stealing and not giving credit. A prime example are Native American headdresses. You can do a lot of things people of color do, just as long as you do it respectfully and you recognize what it means. You have to look into the history as to why some things aren't OK, most of them didn't just become offensive out of nowhere.
Cultural appropriation is not a real thing. Everyone in America dresses by western standards.
That's a perfect example. I know people who own them, they don't give two shits about Natives American culture, they just get high in the fields during concerts then proceeds to treat the headdresses like crap afterwards.
+Viet Lee Explain how you should give "credit" for wearing the headdresses.
There is no such thing. All cultures that have come into contact with one or more other cultures have "appropriated" things - clothings, customs, words, social organization, art styles, even linguistic features. If we say [x] is cultural appropriation, then everything else is too, in some form or another.
Consider Aztec languages and Maya languages. They are completely separate language families. Why do they share some linguistic features? Because they "appropriated" things from one another while in contact with each others. Some things originally Aztec appeared in Maya, and vice versa, through centuries and centuries of contact.
And who said anything about being insecure? Geo’s whole attitude in this video really just shows how low she is. Why do we have to be insecure because someone is getting more praise for features they are altering vs the features we were naturally born with that’s the issue. What crap are you talking about Geo about being insecure

She’s taking sponsorships for poc women, I mean...And honestly being a “pretty” poc girl is so ... popular now a days to embrace your culture... the thing is if anything were to ever happen to her being so dark she could wash that colour of in a minute but imagine being that dark and never getting to wash your skin colour off.. people honestly see this shit as a trend and it’s not cute at all. And honestly she can’t appear THAT dark skinned/ tanned to just math her neck. You honestly can’t take away how pretty she is but you definitely can’t say people are angry about her being pretty.

J m purposely putting people in a video that all have the same opinion and lack critical thinking/productive discourse is stupid but to each’s own
J m nice way to deflect but let me walk you through how the internet works. They posted this video to promote discussion and earn revenue. It is a smart move to put dumb people, with poorly researched opinions in a video that focuses on complex issues because.... surprise.. people will comment, thus increasing clicks, likes and revenue lol. And the whole point of having a comments section is so people can discuss the content whether you deem it serious or not. So again nice try, but you have to come with something better
Quite an ignorant episode. You guys clearly can't distinguish between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation. Even if Emma's intentions were not to be "black", her change in tan colour is significantly different from her paler skin tone AND she maintains it throughout the year. So really she is trying to transpire a look without crossing the boundary of being accused as "blackfishing" because she benefits from it as an influencer - getting sponsorships, monetary benefits, etc. Using the excuse of her being "cute" and how people are going off on her because of their "insecurities" is just adding to the problem. Because lots of white people tan, but they don't try to achieve it on a level that calls for attention by tiptoeing between the line of having their individuality and trying to be a black woc.

It's the history of black face that makes this disturbing.
You know what I don't understand, why do they keep saying Spaniards are not white? They are definetely white. Like every other race there are some who are darker and others who are lighter but still white. Like I would consider Geo to be white because if we look into her genes I'm 100% sure more than half of her genes is white (European obviously).
@Toro 57 Mate, if 80% of your genes is one race, in this case White, then you are and definitely look white. I think what you are trying to say is if someone's parents are black and white that person is both. Which is true but even in those cases there is still a dominant gene which is black. Which is why many people refer to mix race people as black.
@Toro 57 What I am saying is in the case of Geo. If I witness a crime she committed I would have described her as a 6ft tall white woman. Because for me she looks white. However, she might have a bit of other race but I would still say she is white because otherwise I feel like we are talking more about someone who has a darker complexion like Tiff. (BTW, I'm European I don't use the term Caucasian.) That being said, I have never heard, seen anyone who has genes so small like 20% in your case, somehow manifest more of that gene compared to 80%. Considering that I study biology I've yet to come across something like that. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but the probability is very low. Which again, I go back to my previous comment that I think you are confusing characteristics with dominant gene. A black baby can have green eyes and straight hair(those are characteristics) but it's very unlikely to find a white looking woman with an Afro for example and her gene make up is 80% black 20%white. Again I not saying it doesn't exist because there's always a probability all I'm saying it's very rare. Which is why I am saying if Geo does or has done a test to see where she is from, I'm 100% sure that a lot more than 50% of her genes is European which I consider that to being white, you may not you may consider 100% European to be white but I don't .
Its cute to be black isnt it, until your going for an interview, tryna take out a loan and rent an apt. Its not right, be your ole Becky self!

I think it's because young people might not know the history of blackface. It has an extremely racist and bad history. I can see why most young people would see this and can't find the reason people find it offensive.
PLEASE bring on more black guests so that they can share their perspectives on topics like this. Sure they don't speak for ALL black people and neither does Boze but it is important for you all to realize the real issues with this and maybe it would come across better if it came from one of your friends than a bunch of comments... love y'all but this video aint it.
wee een thats not even my point though. Im talking about the reasons why making yourself look darker because its “trendy” is not right. Black people get discriminated against because of their skin color and they dont get to flip flop between races. I dont care where she is from. She has been posted on multiple pages that celebrate black women and she never denied the fact that she is not black. This girl gets to do this to her skin temporarily just to be praised but gets to switch back when shit gets real. I feel like having a black person there to explain that would really open their minds up a little. Thats all.
After this video I now know why I don’t watch this channel anymore. Important issues go completely over their heads. This isn’t about looks/if she looks good. It’s the fact that bigger lips, curly hair, dark skin were labeled “unattractive” and a cause of discrimination for many women. I don't see anything wrong with a white person tanning and/or kinking their hair. But as a social media 'influencer', with a lot of followers and the opportunity to get sponsorships, she should have made it clear that she wasn't actually a minority (in that sense). As someone else said, she was getting sponsored to advertise products directed at black people. When someone that's *actually* black would have gotten those sponsorship deals. She *must* know what this looks like.
David So is probably the only person on JKNews who's culturely competent enough to speak on this subject. Everybody else comes off like they have little to no black friends. It's wild how a majority cast of non black women are trying tell black women why they shouldn't feel offended. That was an obvious mistake. These women are too young not to know some level of the Black American Plight. They need the fellow in Chelsea handler's footsteps. A large majority of the JK community need to educate themselves on other cultures. It's going 2019 and the level of ignorance is just the same as the Malcolm X, MLK Jr, and BPP day's. I don't ever post but I have been watching, liking, sharing for over 4 years and I am very disconnected with this set of cast now. I feel they completely missed the problem at hand. To be honest I don't think they have ever had a discussion with their black friends about what it's like living day to day. They haven't been around our environment and they like to pretend when it's convenient. I believe the guys would have grasped the concept better coming from their backgrounds. May have been distracted by how pretty she was because the girl got skills. But I think I will take break from JK productions and come back later.
The girls never explicitly said blackface was okay. Gina, Geo, and Nikki clearly stated that they were confused as to what they thought about this issue. Nikki had to ask what is the line between being inspired by a race and appropriating a culture because she was just confused. In a recent JKNews video, Boze stated that she has been discriminated before because of her race, so she has had gone through discrimination, unlike some of you think. The girls were just giving their honest opinions.

Jess - “she looks blaxican!!!” 😂😂😂👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Nikki is clueless 🙄
I live jk but I think you ladies messed up on this video. You guys didn't get the real point why people are pissed
This woman followed me two nights ago. I swore she was fake because all her photos resemble the same style and face as if she were just a barbie doll with different outfits on.
I'm native american and I'm not speaking for anyone else but i think there's a line drawn with how you wear feathers. I think one can wear feather earrings, but not a headdress (made out of feathers), especially if one's a female. In my tribe, headdresses were worn only by men and only if they were chiefs. Feather earrings are fine lmao and that's wack if any native gets offended by them.
