Lots of disappointment from canola fields this year which is what today's price action shows. There was a lot of selling the rally but the market found a bottom and rallied off of it so that means the traders know the crop was smaller.
@@AxiomAcres We are looking for planter this year. I think we will have more acres in soybean than canola for quite a few years.(in this area) We cant count on canola yields any more so might as well sow a lower input crop like soybeans. It cleans up the weedy fields also.
My canola was crap too. Between the heat and the wind..i should have bought a giant vacuum cleaner to get it off the ground. I used brett young, i think their canola is garbage. Nothing but disaster with it. They keep pushing it to sell me. Frankly, with the crappy yield and crappy price, I'm all canola'd out.
I did a dekalb trial last year, out performed invigor 340 by 5-10%. This year 340 won by 30%. Dad likes to say “there’s a reason everyone compares themselves to invigor
@AxiomAcres yes, I believe that. I think brett young has a ways to go before they promote their pod integrity any more. I have alot of Bush, and my land is well sheltered. Yet it was completely shelled out. I took a tour around my neighbour's...and the area. Standing or laying, seemed alot less loss. Just my 2 cents and experience.
Great video Devin

Southern Manitoba yield is crap also. Heat killed it. A lot of coffee talk of less canola acres and more Soybeans next year.
I was kicking around the idea of putting some beans in next year but am concerned about the stockpile/carryout

@thebreakofdon5188 where are you? Not much for Brett young around here that I know of
@@AxiomAcres I'm in Esterhazy. I think I'm about the only one growing it around here.
I'm not going to be growing it anymore either.
