I hadn't listened to this album for many years, So I was looking forward to hearing 'Gangster of Love' again. By this time, Thorpie had learned to play rhythm guitar. Which is a good thing, because he would have had something to do during Lobby Lloyd's long solos. But then, just when you think it's all over, there comes Gill Matthew's drum solo. Good for contemplating your navel.
And i believe this was engineer Ernie Roses first ever studio session for any band and with these animals, fully snorted volume way up an afternoon torturing him with this one-day album, bet he would have forgot that one.
Haven't heard this thing for years, and even then I think I only heard tracks. Not Warren Morgan doing things right on the piano, and also note that most people don't know you can do that high harmonic on a harp. Music lesson, and a lot of fun, too.
DON'T CARE WHAT ANY FUKKA SAYS. A COUPLE OF BEERS AND A GOOD SOUND SYSTEM. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST 52 MINUTES EVER SPENT. ..
R.I.P MR THORPE.
Thorpie and Lobby LLoyd. It doesn't get any better than that!!
1. Gangster of Love*
2. Goodbye, Baby! - (24:34)
3. Mississippi* - (28:08)
4. Truth - (47:01)
I was nearly going to correct you when I saw the last song with 47 beside it and say that track wasn't that long!
I didn’t know my band was influenced by these guys until I listened to this. Rock n Roll baby!!

Always wondered about the title: Billy decided to strip down his pop credentials for pure rock via blues and Lobby Loyde, I guess...
